Let me first start off by saying that I hate giving 1 star reviews. I very much prefer to give 4 or 5 star reviews. And I did not even get tattooed here. I walked out and I will never go back.
To begin with, the place reeked of cigarette smoke. It appeared to be "clean", but if you look around, the walls and floors and base boards were disgusting. They also have no photos or drawings of their own work in the place at all. All of these were my initial warning signs, but I thought to myself "hey, it's a $13 tattoo. I'm not expecting much."
I walked into the studio around 4:30 asking if the rumor I heard about $13 tattoos for Friday the Thirteenth was true. I was told to sign my name and come back at 11PM. No big deal, so I did as I was told.
Mind you - they close at midnight typically. So you would expect a studio to explain to their potential customers "I appreciate your interest in our deal, but it was a limited time only, and unfortunately we have filled up. We may be running another deal in the future if you would like to be placed on an alert of some kind like email or text messages".
No, instead this tattoo studio continued to let people fill the list up longer and longer.
Then the one other tattoo artist apart from the owner apparently up an left in the middle of the day, so there was only one ( 1 ) artist tattooing.
I came back at 10:45 so I could fill out the waivers and paperwork and let them copy my driver's license and prove I am 18, only to find out that they aren't having anyone fill out a waiver, nor are they even checking ID's. My red flag alert was SCREAMING at me to turn around and leave, but I stayed against all of my better judgements.
There were three teenagers, probably no older than 16, but maybe they were 17 (definitely *NOT* 18 and old enough for a tattoo) hanging out, laughing, waiting for their turn, and cracking dead baby jokes.
The owner stopped tattooing whoever he was working on at that point to tell everyone (probably 10-15 other people including myself and the 3 teenagers) that it would be a minimum of an hour, probably closer to two, before he could get to us and to leave and come back. When everyone decided to stay and wait (because, hey. It's 11PM on friday the 13th and there really isnt much else to do when you are just excited to get a tattoo), the owner stopped working 5 more times to tell those of us who were sitting quietly in his waiting area to "leave and come back", but said nothing to the teenagers who were cracking dead baby jokes.
The place is small and I understand wanting to not have people in the way, but these were paying customers. Or wanted to be paying customers. I dont ask a lot of people in customer service jobs, all I ever ask is to be a little professional and prove to me you are trying to do your job. I dont even ask for a smile and a kind word. Just do your job and be professional. This man was doing neither.
On top of that, all of the artwork all over the studio were printed off pictures from google. No original art from the artists, no photos of artwork they've done on people, and to be honest, i didnt even see a health department check.
I would not recommend this tattoo studio to anyone. Save your money and go someplace that respects its customers and does quality work, not quantity. read more
