Review: Tate Services Dumpster Rental Service
On September 12th, 2017 at 3:06PM, a medium-sized rock lodged directly from the storage trailer of a Tate Services truck while we were driving two lanes away and 100+ feet back. These pictures were taken the time and date of the damage caused to our windshield; both of the Tate Services tag and truck number. We had to speed up to the truck in order to take these pictures and at our destination stopped to call the Tate Services. After speaking to Dave from Tate Services, he was helpful in giving his email information in order for us to send the pictures to the owner, complaint information, and filed a report for the designated employee. He confirmed that this incident does happen often. Since the debris directly hit our windshield, it is the company's/driver's responsibility to cover the damages, which includes a chip to the hood of the vehicle and a J-shaped crack in the windshield as you can perfectly see in the picture.
After leaving messages through Dave and another personnel at the headquarters, the issue has not been resolved as to what the next steps are from the owners. We went to the car dealership to see what the charges will be for the dent and crack which entails $60 for the dent and $600-1000 for total replacement of the windshield due to having to replace it by a third party. This is an astonishing amount for the damage done and nothing was being resolved. Therefore, we came in person in order to set up an appointment on September 21st, 2017 with the owner and the front desk agent, Teresa, said she would follow-up the next day or following Monday. I did not receive any calls or messages and followed-up on September 28th, 2017 at 1:20PM in order to give reasonable time to follow-up. During this call, I was put on hold for a few minutes which is fine and was told that since another company/worker put the debris in the storage trailer, Tate Services is not responsible for the debris inside the pickup and will not cover the costs. Furthermore, she continued to accuse me and say "How do I know if you're telling the truth?" and you don't have proof that the rock came from a Tate services storage trailer and continued to give examples of rock debris hitting cars from under the wheel, which is highly irrelevant because this rock projectiled from the Tate Services storage trailer and onto our windshield and therefore is not considered road debris. She also said that this incident happens all the time and when I simply asked "what if this happened to you?" she hung up abruptly. All in all, she was highly unprofessional and accused me of being dishonest which was uncalled for. Our goal was for the specific Tate Services driver responsible and/or owners of Tate Services to cover the windshield replacement while we cover the small dent on the hood, both of which aren't our doing, but this was met with great resistance and extreme accusations instead. We have learned a big lesson of how even local companies are unwilling to take personal responsibility and will be installing dash cams for any future accusations. read more
