We've had a tough builder recently, and Stephen advocated for us very well, resolving our issues efficiently and effectively, which we very much appreciated. We are very impressed with the closing process, which has been streamlined virtually (in recent days due to Covid), saving us lots of time. Nasheta and her colleagues are also great at keeping up with all the updates and paperwork, and very prompt in responding to us. We also found the services at a great pricepoint which is very competitive. Much appreciate that they do not nickle and dime like some lawyers do, and the prices are extremely competitive. Will definitely go to Stephen and his team for future purchases! :)

By the…read moretime everything is settled, it often seems like the legal fees add up quickly, and you might feel as though you've spent more than you expected. While some lawyers certainly provide valuable help, it can still feel like, at the end of the day, they get a significant portion of your money. If you're considering hiring one, I'd strongly recommend asking detailed questions about billing, fees, and expected costs upfront.

Consumer Warning: $1,000 Charged for Zero Services; JusticeNet Rules Ignored…read more I am writing this review to warn others about my experience with Caleesis Telesh. I hired her through the JusticeNet program, which is designed to help low-income individuals access legal help at capped rates. In my case (ODSP), the rate was capped at $130/hour. The Issues: Predatory Billing: Before performing any work, she required a $1,000 payment via e-transfer. She never provided a written retainer or a signed contract outlining the scope of work, which is a standard professional requirement. No Results: I was seeking help with a license reinstatement. After paying her, I received no legal documents or proof of work. In the end, I resolved the issue myself with one phone call to the insurance provider, as confirmed by an email from Allstate Insurance on Jan 9, 2026. Refusal to Refund: Despite doing zero work, she refused a refund and produced an "interim invoice" after the fact, labeling the $1,000 as a "consultation." Based on JusticeNet rates, an $885+HST consultation would require nearly 8 hours of time, which never happened. Professional Record: Prospective clients should be aware that this lawyer has a public record with the Law Society of Ontario (Case 2023 ONLSTH 117) regarding professional conduct. I have filed a formal fraud dispute with my bank and am in the process of a Law Society complaint. If you are looking for a lawyer who follows program rules and provides transparent billing, look elsewhere.
