Pretty disappointed. We sat at our table for a minute like a bunch of deers in headlights unsure if anyone would come greet us. If you're ready to order you will need to use the QR code provided on the table. I personally think some kind of instructions near the QR code/ on the table for the guest would be a little helpful. Nothing crazy either. (Just like a hey order here, and we will be with you shortly ... idk just a thought) If you are patient enough and already ordered someone will indeed come by with water, utensils, napkins and the side you ordered with your pot. For all the staff that was coming in/out the kitchen today service was bare minimum. Hardly anyone came to our table to check on us or the quality of our food. Food wasn't the best for the price either. For me personally none of the pots seemed appealing. I ended up ordering a soup then adding beef, ramen and some corn. Corn was way too sweet. My husband opted for the seafood pot and he later wished he would have just order a custom pot and added a bunch of stuff instead. Way too many veggies. One tiny lobster, two muscles, two shrimp and a partridge in a pear tree.. I ordered the Thai tea and my husband the brown sugar milk tea. Be sure to check and see if your drink already comes with boba so you don't buy extra and not receive extra. My drink was awful and I am a HUGE FAN of Thai Tea. I really enjoy Tasty Pot especially during the cold weather these days. When you go in, the restaurant is spacious and just simple. You can scan a QR code and select your order from there. I usually get the kimchi dumpling soup, but this time I got the Sichuan soup. I ordered my food and it came out very quickly. The servers were very attentive & they checked in to see if we wanted more broth. The Sichuan soup was delicious. The only downside is it is a bit pricey at $25 & I personally prefer more meat to vegetables so I wish there was a bit more. There also is not customizations on the order form. The broth was delicious and had that tingly spiciness. If you're not really good with spice I would say definitely do medium or mild. I have been wanting to come here for the longest time and finally made it with the perfect companion. One thing for certain is Tasty Pot is definitely tasty! There are 12 main enticing tasty pot options to choose from (www.tastypotusa.com/menu). I like to experiment with new dishes but primarily looked at the "safe" options I was certain I would like. As mentioned by the waitress, the popular menu items are: #1: Beef Hot Soup #9: Taiwanese Supreme Spicy #11: Sichuan Flavor #12: Seafood Lobster The lamb (#2), cheesy hot pot (#3), curry (#4), stinky tofu (#5), veggie (#6), kimchi (#7), Thai (#8), and Japanese (#10) are all tempting but I went with the #9 Taiwan Supreme Spicy and my date went with #11 Sichuan flavor. All the hot pots (except for the #6 Veggie) are made in the same pork broth base but with various ingredients. The hot pots are made as a single serving per-person but 2 people could reasonably share 1 hot pot. The presentation of our menu choices presented well but have to say the table next to us ordered the #12 Seafood Lobster and it looked very appealing as well. Our waitress spoke Chinese (Mandarin) and I heard another waitress speak in Spanish to her dining guests - so an A+ on the language diversity. Ordering is simple, just scan on your phone and select options on your menu items. They also have a variety of flavored drinks (bobas, teas, etc) on the menu. They start you off with a complimentary iced tea which made me want more. After selecting your soup, you can choose additional veggies and/or meats per preference. They have an open sauce/spice bar to compliment your soup. My date helped me better understand the importance of making your own sauce and not eating directly from the tasty pot as an authentic experience...and what an incredible difference the right sauce and spice mixture makes. This was my first visit. The servers greeted us as soon as we walked in. The air smelled fresh & crisp. I noticed the floor had just been mopped and all the tables looked very clean. The servers work hard but quickly stop what they are doing to welcome customers and ask if it's your first time visiting (to provide ordering guidance). They thoroughly clean & wipe down tables as soon as customers leave. How to order: You pick a table to sit and scan the QR code on the table to view the menu and place your order. Our server brought our table ice water right away while we reviewed the menu. You select your soup, any add-on's, drinks and hit submit through your phone. Don't worry, based on the QR code you scan, the kitchen staff knows what table you are ordering from so don't worry about how they will identify you (like I did). One soup is large enough to serve two people. My husband and I shared the no# 8 Thai Flavor Hot Soup. It comes out piping hot over a burner so be careful not to burn your tongue. The broth is flavorful but you can elevate it even more by making your own special sauce. Head over to their sauce bar to make your own sauce. I was honestly so excited to try Tasty Pot since it's the most loved hotpot in the area. We got the seafood hotpot with a side of quail eggs for takeout. Walking in, I just had to wait a little to get charged out and grabbed my food. This ended up costing about $30 for a single serving. Surprise surprise, the minute we opened the bag, there was a cockroach skin right on top of the lid of the quail egg, on top of the hotpot :) I actually asked the waitress to confirm we had utensils and she opened the bag to check and closed it again.. so that literally went unnoticed twice :( Given the price and quality, I don't see me recommending this place for anyone read more

Once we placed our orders, it didn't take very long for the food to come. There is a sauce bar..not a great one but good enough. At other tasty pots the sauces are usually at the table. Also, the drink options are not the same as other tasty pot locations so that was another disappointment. When the food did come, I felt disappointed yet again. I had ordered the Japanese Miso Hotpot and it was supposed to come with enoki mushroom (which is what I was looking forward to having) but I kid you not there were only like 2 sprigs of enoki mushroom in that pot so i was honestly disappointed. Some of the other veggies that were put into the pot like the cabbage appeared like they weren't cleaned because it had black edges... I guess there's no quality control here. While we were eating, one of the staff was mopping the floor..it kinda looked like the mop was not wrung out very well because the floor was soaking wet. I looked around for a wet floor sign and there was literally just 1 at the entrance. That's a big no no to me because the intention of safety is not clearly laid out. The food came out quickly, the broth was flavourful and the presentation was good. The one thing I'll complain about was the quality of meat, it was very dry and didn't taste fresh, I could see it had red die in it to make it appear as if it medium rare but it was just the die, I know this because I had some meat when I first got the soup then left it to cook more thinking it was still rare but it never changed color or taste. The seafood however was pretty fresh and yummy, we ordered the misso and Thai hot pots, mild heat lol. My family used to be loyal customers here before since the on floor manager (a man with glasses) still worked until today! We ordered 3 hot pots as usual, and the one and only Tomato Hot soup is mine! First of all everything seemed very ok until fire under my hotpot kept burning and I couldn't put it off, my broth kept vaporizing and I called the lady, she said sorry for that and took my hotpot away, then she came back with same base, same pot but more broth and she promised fire would be off soon! But no, fire was still on and my food got burnt in the bottom caused my food smell burnt and taste bitter! I complained about the situation, the lady once again took it away and seconds later returned it and said kitchen was too busy to remake my hotpot!? I asked can you eat this bitter burnt food!? She reluctantly took it away with my meat and tofu and other stuff in the pot plus noodles! Around 5 mins later, she brought me a new hotpot like the photo and said sorry for the food!!!! We had lunch here and it was a great choice for this cold, rainy day. The menu and ordering is done on your phone so that was a bit of a challenge but the server was helpful and assisted us with it. Only writing this review due to the service we received. When we arrived it was quite busy so we assumed it would take a while to get our order which is no problem. We only ordered two soups. About 30 minutes passed and a couple more parties of 5-6 people arrived. I asked the server if they could check on our food for us. She said it was ready and on the way. 10 more minutes passed by and we were still waiting. The larger parties that came in after us received their orders first. We then asked another server about our order and he told us to wait 5 more minutes. We placed our order at 8:05pm and received our food at 9:00pm. We were done eating by 9:30pm. On top of that, they gave us the wrong bill. Tables were messy the entire time and not being cleaned up. Another party of two came in and they received their orders in about 10 minutes. Other people were waiting to pay their bill with no server coming to collect it or check on them. I'd understand if they are short staffed or super busy, however waiting an hour for two soups doesn't make sense. WORST service I have ever received. read more

So glad that Stockton is slowly opening up more food places! Tasty Pot is the only place I can think of that serves individual Taiwanese hot pot. My go-to is the lamb hot soup, which comes with plentiful vegetables and other items. I like to order quail egg and roe fish on the side since it's a delicious add-on. The food comes out very quickly and is served to you boiling in an individual pot. I like how they automatically serve black or green tea. You can order water, if needed, as well as specialty milk tea drinks, which are made by the associated Mochinut, which shares the building with Tasty Pot. The menu itself is found by scanning a QR code, which also serves as the online ordering portal. When you're finished with the meal, you can request for the bill by using the same website link/QR code. The installation of Mochinut made the restaurant a bit smaller, but they try to ensure that guests are seated as soon as possible, which ensures that no table is left empty for too long. If you have a large party with you, tables can be put together to accommodate your party. read more

I usually go to the Tasty Pot in Elk Grove so I was super excited that one opened up in Stockton, because I thought the experience would be the same. The 1st time wasn't that great because: 1. the bowl was smaller than the one I get in Elk grove and I always get the same thing (The lamb) 2. They had a check-in deal for a free tea drink (green tea?), and I made sure to ask the waiter if it would be honored. I checked-in and then the waiter tells me that they ran out of green tea and therefore could not honor my check-in. I was like huh? can't you give me something else, like a black tea instead? He said no we don't have any. Funny. As we were walking out, I saw them prepping a whole bunch of boba teas. I didn't want to give them any more of my money so we went across the street to Happy Lemon instead. On this visit: I'm not a fan of ordering on my phone via a QR code, but of course, this place runs like this. I later saw they did give a table nearby physical menus. I guess you have to ask for it. Don't let them QR bully you! My husband got the lamb (our usual in Elk Grove) but I decided to get their thai flavor pot. My bowl was significantly larger in size than my husband's bowl and I told him, "this is the size I remember it in Elk grove!" I later asked a server why the different sizes? She said bowls 1-7 are small, 8 and up are large, which I did not see explained anywhere on the menu. Our rice side came in a to-go bowl, when it always came in a real bowl. I remember they also gave you an extra bowl because that's where I'd make my own little soup to cool down and mix in my sauces. I had to ask for a to-go bowl. The spoon is no longer an actual Asian soup spoon. It's now been replaced with a plastic spoon - which I now cringe about thinking putting that plastic in that boiling soup. Yes, I burned my tongue and it was sore for 2 days. They seemed to have gotten rid of any dishes that require washing. We had to ask for the sauces. They only have 2 now, vs. 3. I appreciate that they come in bottles now vs. the little self-service communal dishes. I always worried someone might spit in them or something. My husband ordered a hot tea and of course, it came in a to-go cup. The problem was, it wasn't even hot!!! We sent it back and the girl was like, it's going to take 20 minutes to heat up water. Ummm..are you serious? That made no sense. But whatever, the 2nd attempt was a little better, but still NOT hot how it should've been. Idk if they feel like bc we're NOT Asian, that we're noobs and don't know they usually come around filling up people's pots w/broth. Our Elk Grove location always came through. Absolutely delicious! I got the #7 dumplings and my pot was definitely a 9.5 out of 10! Food comes in a hot pot and takes an additional 10 minutes ish to fully cook your food. For example the egg is raw but will cook as you let your pot go from steaming to boiling. The miso soup is not as tasty and my date gave it a 7.5 out of 10 but he loved mine and said it was definitely a 10 out of 10! Make sure to ask for extra napkins. Came upon this place through a quick internet search ("food near me"). A buddy joined me. Neither of us had ever been here before and dining was a unique experience. First, you scan the QR code on your table. That'll take you to a menu website. There, you select your dish and add it to your cart. While selecting, you'll get to a second page where you can modify your order and or add additional items. When done, you confirm your order and the kitchen receives your order. While waiting, staff will bring you a slightly sweetened tea (free with your order). There are other drinks you can order instead of the tea. There's a sauce bar with toppings for your "pot." Once your order arrives, you can add your toppings form the sauce bar to it. Your order comes on a small flame that burns for about 30 minutes keeping your food nice and hot. If you need anything, you use your phone to request it (napkins, water, drink refill, etc.). I do not know if you can request a printed menu, but suspect you can. I tried the beef pot (can't remember what my buddy ordered). It was pretty good. There were four levels of hot to order from. I selected the second highest level. Thus level has s good "bite" but combined with heat temperature, it had a kick...but not too bad. I also added some hot oil to my soup. I really liked the soy-garlic sauce that was on the table. In my opinion, a single soup pot can easily feed two. But my order kept me digging for more and I finished most of it. They'll bring you the check before you leave. So this place was recommended to us by one of the workers at a nearby Boba shop. I knew it sounded familiar but it wasn't until we got there that I realized we had been to a tasty pot up in Berkeley when my son and his girlfriend came to visit one time. all the different franchises do have their own spin on things but for the most part I have the same main staples and I ordered the Japanese Miso while my girl ordered the Thai seafood. We got to make our own dipping sauce and the tables had more sauce they bottle themselves. Overall experience was great since it was raining and was the perfect time for soup. This is taiwanese style like Boiling Point where you order the soup and it comes in an individual hotpot per person this is not a build your own shabu style.
