They also have truck parking next to the restaurant that not a lot of people realize. I walked in and was greeted immediately by very nice and professional staff. But of course if you know me, you know I chose to sit at the bar. They were playing some soccer game on the TV. I don't watch sports so doesn't matter to me what's on the TV. My bartender greeted me IMMEDIATELY and took my drink order, and gave me a menu. This guy was on his game! Very attentive, engaged in banter. Couldn't be happier with my bar experience all together. I'm on a no-carb kick, so It can be challenging sometimes to find carb-free options at Mexican restaurants, since all the good stuff and fun stuff to eat like tortillas, rice, beans, and other fried dishes are plentiful. But I noticed they had a Molcajete! (For those don't know what that is, it's essentially a bowl carved out of volcano rock, and then heated up with various meats and other ingredients, served SUPER HOT). My molcajete came with pretty good size shrimp, beef, chicken, couple slices of mozzarella type cheese, pico and other stuff in the bottom. The bartender asked me if I wanted to substitute my rice and beans for avocado and pico, which I did. I ate my avocado and put the pico into my molcajete. I am a faithful consumer of tajin, and tapatio. BUT They didn't have tap! They only have Cholula. The bartender told me he keeps requesting it, but never gets it, so cholulah it was. My molcajete was super hot, boiling like it should be, really flavorful. All together really good. I did notice The Rock wasn't as deep as other Mexican restaurants I've been to that served it, and didn't have a couple other little things in it that other Mexican restaurants too, but it was still good nonetheless and a perfect portion size for me. I didn't realize they close at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday because I planned on having supper there again tonight, so I will be stopping in the next time I come down to this part of Texas! Thank you Taqueria Jalisco! Maybe next time I'll have a cheat day and eat something carby! I know it will be worth it! ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. I ordered the chorizo quesadilla, and the portion size was massive, the plate was so huge that I even had leftovers to take with me. The food was absolutely delicious, and they even had something for my vegan sister to eat, too. On top of that, the staff was perfect and welcoming, and the bathroom was incredibly clean. We loved everything about our visit and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

The other waitress was there and I'm glad she wasn't the one attending us. Service was the only issue last time I was there really because food was amazing. I ordered the Tacos de Trompo again, very tender and mixed with crispy bites, flavorful as always. It has that beautiful red hue, tastes better than it looks. The charro beans were very fresh, packed with great flavor really enjoyed it. The loaded baked potato was outstanding, chose fajita this time on it. If you want some authentic Mexican tacos de Trompo and others stop by here and indulge in what they have to offer, you will not be disappointed.

The tortillas are small and paper thin just like in Monterrey, they slice the pork thin off the tropo and finish it cooking on the griddle. The next day I came back for a burger sencilla. The beans are on point. The service is great, but there is a surcharge for using cards. I took my food to go both times, but they now have an eating area which they did not a year ago. I don't live in the area, but always get my food here when visiting family. The ambiance looks nice in the eating area, but there was no one around when I went by at around 5pm. Highly recommend this place. If you have not been by in a while, they have reversed the drive-thru area.
