The good: This store has fun drink names with great menu options! They serve both food and drinks. I tried a passion fruit black tea and the bootea shaker tea (mango, peach, pineapple black tea with black jelly). Black jelly is basically herbal or grass jelly. I tried the Buttload'a fries and thought it was crunchy and tasty. It tasted kind of like the popcorn chicken. The fries were pretty heavy in oil but were very tasty. The bad: The sugar level options were "none, medium, light or regular.' I got light and thought it was way too sweet still. Next time, I'd get none since there's no option between light and none. I felt like the drinks were too sweet from the syrup from the jelly perhaps. They only gave us 1 ketchup packet for the fries. I think the fruit tea would have tasted more refreshing and yummy if it was jasmine green tea instead of black tea as the base. The interesting: The Buttload'a Fries comes in 5 levels of spice. We got level 2 and it was pretty spicy already. I consider myself as someone who loves spicy food. Level 5 is called "insane" and level 1 is called "mild but wild." Hands down, this Tastea is one of my favorite places to go in LBX. The teas are tasty, flavors are straight forward, and prices are reasonable. I love that I can adjust my sugar and ice level, especially since some of the fruity teas can be sweet on their own. Their karate chicken and fries are great snack options, and as a weakling for spice, I like that I can ask for mild spice or even none when I can't handle it. Tastea is tasty! I got a regular (20 oz) Honeydew Milk Tea with almond milk & medium sweetness. Even with medium sweetness it was still pretty yummy. Next time I will try less ice. There was no line and about 7 people working behind the counter so the drink could have come out a little faster. I've visiting Tastea over 10 times now and I'm a fan! Specifically I'm a fan if the peachy freezie drink. I've tried the watermelon slushy, lychee freezie, peachme sweetie, and yummy gummy. These are a-okay but the peachy freezie is my favorite of the bunch. There's always a line here so good to order online in advance if you don't have to wait. Overall the staff is nice and efficient. I wish they would open starting at 11 though as many customers tried opening the door before it's noon opening. I've been going to this Tastea since they were opened and wanted to give a review about their party jug. For Lunar New Year, I was given a scratcher and won a free party jug which was a gallon of a drink of your choice. At the cashier, they accepted my scratcher and you just have pay $7 extra for a cup of boba on side. I also was able to redeem points for a large order of popcorn chicken in the same transaction. After ten minutes of waiting, my order was ready and the manager included small cups, boba straws, and lids to go with the party jug. I also highly recommend buying your own ice. This jug was able to serve my super bowl party of 7 people and it was good deal even if you have to pay the full price of $37. Popcorn chicken was good too, a large size can serve 2-3 people. I've been to a few different Tasteas in California and they're pretty consistent in terms of flavor. Overall, I like the taste of their teas and Boba and the pick up option on their app is very convenient. I will say that sometimes the green tea is over steeped so it will taste bitter. My biggest issue with all the Tasteas I've been to is that they all look very dirty. This has ultimately led me to check out other tea houses. Ordering was great - I think Tastea is the only place I've been where there's a separator between the cashier and customer but with a mic so you don't have to shout your order back and forth with them. On Yelp, you are able to place an order on the app so you can pickup which is what we did. This location is in the Long Beach Exchange. There's a large lot and in my experience there is always parking available even though the plaza gets crowded. I wanted to get a matcha drink. I ordered the Matcha Milk Tea with Oat Milk, no sweetener, and an extra scoop of matcha. It's great that they don't charge extra for a milk substitute, but they do charge an extra 30 cents for an extra scoop of matcha which is not bad compared to other shops. The drink was really good and they whisked it so well that there was no matcha powder leftover at the bottom. Super thumbs up!! There were about 5 baristas behind the counter including the cashier so the drinks came out fast and there wasn't much of a wait to get your drinks. Cashiers and baristas were extremely nice. I order 5 avocado smoothies couple weeks ago here and it taste like nothing. The drink are so expensive. I tried to call the the store every day for a week but no one picked up.
