My wife told me about this place she had seen on social media and wanted to try it. It was a fantastic dining experience and the food was fresh and delicious. It is a family owned and operated restaurant serving an authentic and traditional Mediterranean style family spread meant for sharing. They also serve sand brewed coffees, specialized hot and cold teas, Mocktails and bake all of their breads and desserts in house fresh every day. The staff are very friendly and one of the owners was giving us our check after we were done eating and actually started a conversation with us and told us that one of the things they are known for is Hospitality. Everyone was so nice and it just complimented the delicious food. My wife and myself got the Family size Tashtea Breakfast for 2. It was definitely enough food for 2. This huge spread consists of different Cheeses, Olives, Honey, Butter, Molasses, Tomatoes, Sausage, Egg, Seasonal Fruit and Freshly Baked Bread. To finish the review-- This place is only open for Breakfast and Lunch. They close around 4:30. There is plenty of free parking and it's located in Antioch about 15 minutes from Nashville. I came here for breakfast while visiting from California, and honestly, in almost 30 years of living in the United States, this was one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. This is a Kurdish-Turkish restaurant, and the food was absolutely amazing. Everything we ordered was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor. The prices were also very reasonable. Our entire table, with all the food we ordered, came to around $85-$90, which was a great price for the quality and amount of food. The service was good and everyone was very friendly. At times, our server got a little distracted talking with other customers, but I understand that they were just trying to be welcoming and friendly. I used to run a restaurant myself, so I know how busy things can get. They may just need to pay a little more attention to all the tables. Overall, we had a great experience. I love the diversity of Nashville's food scene. TashTea was a must visit during my recent trip. This Kurdish/turkish spot is tastefully decorated with some really unique options for how you sit when you dine! There is plenty of parking. I got a Turkish breakfast, along with some traditional tea. The breakfast was plentiful with multiple wonderful options, including cheese, eggs, fresh vegetables, sweets, and bread. The tea is prepared in a unique way with a combination of brew tea and hot water. I love that everything was in a very traditional platter. A delicious meal. What a fantastic mother's day treat! We came in the afternoon and had about a 30 minute wait but it was so worth it. Everything was absolutely delicious. We had the Tash Tea for two which was a ton of food. We also ordered some other side dishes, a turkish coffee, and a kurdish coffee. Ordered the TashTea for 3 and then a few other things and were absolutely blown away. The menemem and the potato börek were favorites at the table and it was so fun to mix sauces and try different combinations. The floor seating is really comfortable but if you have lower back issues definitely recommend a normal table. The staff was kind but service was quite slow. I enjoyed how knowledgeable the staff was ! Reservations are not necessary. Their online system doesn't work. You can call and make a reservation but on a Saturday morning there were still plenty of tables. Be prepared to be here a while, this was not a quick in & out breakfast. I've been passing this place for months. Scrolling the clock app, I saw a review and it was immediately added to my must try list. I'm an early riser so I went in shortly after open on a Sunday. I'm a sucker for esthetically appealing things... the decor was really cute! Of course I opted for the traditional floor seating. I wanted the full experience . We were immediately seated. The food was delicious. Very flavorful. Since I'm coming back with a group soon, I didn't get the Tash Tea Breakfast spread. I opted to get the Menemen. It was great! The owners are available and approachable and willing to share details of their story and of the incredible variety of breakfast food. We sat in the low section to get as authentic an experience as possible. The food was plentiful and we've taken leftovers with us each visit. The service is professional and knowledgeable and definitely unobtrusive. They will talk as much as you want to talk and leave you to yourself when you want. The atmosphere is calming and relaxed. Wow, I wasn't expecting much, this was just a breakfast place I found on Yelp on our way into Nashville, but this deserves a five star rating. First, the staff actually seemed genuinely happy and friendly, not just the fake server niceness you see. Second, everything we ate was delicious- my favorite was the rose jam that came with the Tashtea breakfast, but the fried eggs and sausage plate was also really good. The menemem was great as well, it was like pizza without the crust. It was busy but not obnoxiously so on a busier than usual Sunday morning. We had the TashTea breakfast for two. My wife had the Kurdish Coffee and I had the Cafe Latte. Everything was amazing and there was sooooo much great food! We also took home the Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake for later. We will be back. Only two small observations: - I kind of wished there had been some tiny spoons or knives. I loved combining the jams with the tahini on the bread but in doing so it was hard not to get the jams mixed into the tahini. My wife didn't mind but I could see in larger groups how that could be awkward. - The bread went so well with everything that I wish the initial amount of bread given was more proportional to the various elements. Didn't mind paying for extra bread but it would have been nice if we hadn't needed to order more. SO happy I found this spot. It's such a hidden gem tucked away in a strip mall but is a little oasis once inside. This cafe has amazing aesthetics and has a calm and relaxing ambiance to it. TashTea has brought true Turkish/Kurdish cuisine to Nashville! Excellent, attentive service from the moment I entered and everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable. It was my first time trying Kurdish coffee which is made in the traditional method over hot sand. It is made from terebinth (related to pistachio) and the staff explained the whole process and why it is cooked in this method- to get all the rich flavors out. The end product was absolutely delicious, earthy with a subtle nutty flavor and served with a great presentation and a little sweet to go along with it. I also got the sahanda sujuklu yumurta (fried eggs with sausage) which was simple, tasty, and served with homemade pita bread. I am already planning my next visit and can't wait to try other menu items! I hope this spot gets the recognition it deserves; I am happy to have it in the Antioch dining scene. read more

This was my first time trying Kurdish food and I was blown away by the quality of the bread and freshness of ingredients in the kovurma beef omelette. I came by myself and got to sit in the cool pillow seating area, though this would've definitely been a more fun experience with a group. The portions were big and I had to pack my meal home. The definition of a hidden gem, TashTea has finally brought true Turkish/Kurdish breakfast to Nashville! Tucked away in a bit of a strip mall in Antioch, you're transported to another world when you enter. Truly A+ for ambiance and vibes, the inside is spacious, extremely clean, well decorated and bright, with traditional poof/floor seating as well as more conventional dining tables. We opted for sitting in the conventional tables this time, but I'd love to come back and sit on the traditional cushion/poofs. I brought my parents here for an early Sunday brunch (around 9:30ish) and it was great that we came on the earlier side, as it was definitely starting to fill up as we were leaving. I absolutely love this style of large, shareable breakfast. We started with drinks: the Kurdish tea for two for my parents and the Kurdish coffee (made in the traditional method over hot sand) for me. My parents are absolute tea snobs and they were raving about the presentation and rich flavor of their tea. They loved how even though they were sharing a pot, they could easily control how intense the flavor was (my mom prefers mild, my dad dark.) The coffee was unreal: rich, almost pistachio/nutty flavor, served with a great presentation and a little sweet to go along with it. The Kurdish breakfast for two was more than enough food for us, and we ended up having a decent leftover haul. They made it vegetarian upon request, so we got; 3 types of Cheese, 2 types of Olives, Honey & Butter, Yoghurt, Jam, Tahini & Grape Molasses, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Walnuts, Grilled Veggies, 4 Fried Cheese Rolls, Haydeh (labneh with dill), Fresh Pita, and Menemen (traditional Kurdish dish with eggs, tomatoes green peppers, cheese and spices, cooked in olive oil.) I also opted to add on a Simit (Turkish style sesame bagel, because it's my favorite) and a Honey Latte, and then got a couple of desserts to go (Tres Leches and Kunefe). First: what a presentation!! The food covered our entire table and so many options to choose from. My favorite bread item was the Samit: the bagel. Lightly sweetened with honey, served warm, it was the perfect crustiness on the outside and soft, chewiness on the inside. I also absolutely loved the potato borek, which was a dish I had never had before. Very flaky pastry, similar to layered Indian paratha, wrapped around a flaky, potato filling - not nearly as heavy as I thought it would be, and great texture. All of the noshes were excellent but my favorite of those was the labneh, the cubes of fresh feta, and the green olives. It was too much food, but I had no regrets about getting a couple of desserts to go. We have already downed the milk cake (tres leches) and are saving the kunefe for a post dinner treat. Excellent, attentive service throughout, and I really appreciated that they were so accommodating of vegetarians, as I haven't always had that experience at truly authentic Turkish breakfast places. I also loved the recommendations from our server/owner, as my parents were new to this cuisine and had a lot of questions. I am already planning my next visit with friends and this has easily been my one of my favorite additions to the Nashville dining scene this year! read more

Came here for brunch with my friend and I seriously can't wait to go back! The place was packed when we arrived. We found two seats at the bar and ordered the TashTea for two. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile, so happy we finally had the chance. We chose to sit on the cushions, there's tables as well. It was decorated cute, and very clean. We were greeted and served very quickly, and everyone that helped us was very friendly. We got the breakfast for two, the tea, and a cheese bread that I forget the name of. Everything was very delicious. This is definitely my preferred type of breakfast. I've never been a "pancakes and bacon" kind of person - the spread included cheeses, olives, delicious bread, jam, honey and butter, tahini, and grape molasses. It also included an egg dish that had some sausages in it. We ate every bit of it. I even enjoyed the black tea, and I'm not a tea fan. The manager convinced us to try a turkish coffee with chocolate baklava afterwards, both were very good. The coffee is an espresso type serving and very strong.
