Stopped by for some sweets on our way home - got three cakes slices and a layered something. All of them were good, and I forgot to take a pic before we devoured them. The fella there was patient with me while I considered the choices, and put our selections in a pretty box. There were tables and it was well lit with several tables for staying onsite. As we walked in the bakery, If the aroma of fresh pastries could give us a buzz, it certainly was doing it's job, and brought back so many wonderful childhood memories... Visited the bakery two weeks in a row. Each instance purchased boxes of cookies. Went home only to find out ....Unfortunately, in both instances, some of the cookies were not fresh, hard, and difficult to bite into. At $ 17/lb very disappointing. 2lb box and today 3lb box. I sent them the picture that I wanted my cake to be and emphasized for the cake to be precise and clean. I will share the pictures and you can definitely see that it's nothing like the one that I wanted. They charged me super high so I was expecting that the cake that they delivered would be high-quality as well. Super disappointing and very overpriced. They mentioned that they went through everything with me, which was true, but I mentioned multiple times that I want my cake to look special specially with the price that they're charging me and exactly like the model that I sent them I will include the model that I wanted for the bottom, middle, and top, and you do the judge. read more

My fam and I have been going to the sushi place next door for years. I always see this place and yesterday was the day we stopped in. Awesome pistachio gelato bar in the freezer. It was delicious. Got some cream puffs that were legit AF. Cold and the filling inside was SO BOMB. Not too sweet. Bomb Cream Puffs. I got a cappuccino cake, which was OK. Not too sweet as well! Just how I like it! Next time, Canolis, Tiramisu, and Biscuits. I could have eaten the whole store. Esp with my new sugar addiction. But I managed to reign it in a little bit. Delicious! read more

After a lunch with friend in the sushi beside the bakery, my husband and I decided to try the sweets. They remind me the sweet I used to eat in Brazil. They are delicious! The first item was a beet salad... the lettuce was sad, the beets were sad, the sugary nuts were sad. It wasn't a Beet Salad it was a Beet S'ad (The slices of green apple rocked!) (But, really, pieces of greens and beets that should never have gone on a plate.) The second thing we ordered was the Grilled Salmon... I mean there it was at the top of their digital menu (disliked the digital menu just on general principal) and it said "Best Seller-Grilled Salmon." Cool let's try the grilled salmon. (See pictures). I mean, even if they thought I said "We will take the Beet Salad with Some Grilled Salmon on it" (I didn't), take the time to clarify. Regardless, the over-cooked fingers of salmon that came over on a plate were pretty pathetic. (I also could have said something at the time but you know how it it... now you have one person eating a wilted salad while the other person is waiting for their food to get redone and it amounts to two people eating sad food at different times.) The clincher was when the lady seated next to us came back from the women's room and mentioned that there was a cockroach lying on it's back unsure whether to die or not. She said, "But on a positive note, I think that means they are at least spraying for cockroaches." Gotta say, they still have a proper amount of people employed but not of them exactly energetic. I suppose another good thing was that my wife went to use the rest room a few minutes later and said the cockroach was gone so they either threw it out or placed it back in the kitchen where it belonged.

If you don't feel like walking outside with your dessert, they also have some seats inside. I once came with a group of 14 and we all managed to find seats, so you can make it work with what they have. Parking and holidays are probably the only thing that get in the way. Street parking is available, but you may have to park a few minutes away. It's not the kind that we are accustomed here in the states. I would have liked there to be a little bit more sauce though. But overall, I would definitely come back here when in the area. What an absolutely incredible bakery! We are from Louisiana and surprised my mother for her birthday with a trip to California. We wanted a birthday cake for her and heard about Tarzana Bakery. We contacted them weeks before we flew in and described what kind of cake and what decorations we wanted. Boy did they not disappoint. The cake was absolutely gorgeous, the flavor was none other we have had. It was the most amazing cake ever. The staff was so accommodating and friendly and not only did we leave with the cake, but we bought terrifically delicious pastries as well! My wife purchased a tiramisu cake for my birthday when I cut the cake I saw 3 layers of cake and the rest was cream. I contacted Tarzana bakery and complained about the cake. Not only the owner did not acknowledge my complaint instead he got rude and didn't care about my complaint. I don't recommend purchasing from them. If you do you are wasting your time. We were told to pick it up at 11:30am because we needed it by 12PM 2. We were there the day of the event at 11:30am, bakery was closed, and one of the employees from the inside just waved at us saying NO. We called the bakery and they told us that our cake wasn't ready that they had a power outage, therefore they would have it ready by 12 and delivered by 12:30pm (since they messed up) 3. Our cake was delivered at 2:30pm (3hrs late), we paid the rest to the driver and as we're waiting for our change, the passenger (a lady), said -why you give change? (Thinking we owe them a tip for being 3hrs late with our cake) 4. We cut the cake and the waitresses started passing it down to our guests and BOY!! The cake was nothing of what we ordered, flavor was horrible (it looked very nice) there wasn't any walnuts, vanilla cream-fill, instead it had caramel A LOT and some sort of dry cookie that made it impossible to eat I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, we made sure our 80 guests knew the name and location of this place so they won't order from here. Their lack of professionalism and communication is the worst, plus if they feel the pressure of not having it ready, they will make something to make it seem that at least they did their part, as oppose to basing honest and tell you straight out that they don't have it ready! WORST BAKERY IN THE VALLEY!!!
