Ever since my Grandad gave me my first Werther's Original (I hope this is a real memory, and not an…read moreadvert-induced hallucination) I have had a sweet tooth. Though I've tried to expand my culinary repertoire with vegetables, pulses and fresh fish all I crave is a cup of tea and a biscuit. Which is why Sblended ticks all my boxes. Found at the top of Cabot Circus this milkshake parlour often has gangs of teenagers outside looking all young and intimidating, you know - like they do. But inside there's treats for kids of all ages. The format is simple - pick a flavour (personally, Oreo) and a topping and Bob's your uncle, your fantasy milkshake awaits you. Not the best drink you'll have but a tasty sugar rush if you're lagging while shopping.

It seems that ever since Shakeaway started to do really well as pretty much the only decent milkshake bar loads of other similar types such as Sblended started popping up around the place which are pretty much identical! Sblended is somewhere that offers a large variety of different milkshakes, you basically can choose between any sweet snack you fancy (from skittles to chocolate fudge cake) and they mix this with ice cream and milk to create you a personal shake! I think it's a brilliant idea, and they do taste amazing (I would always recommend the oreo cookie one!), but because I was such a loyal customer to Shakeaway (haha) I always go here instead... The one thing I would say about these places however is that they are overpriced, they charge around £2.50 for a standard sized milkshake which is pretty hefty! They do offer loyalty cards though if you are a fan, and also a student discount of %10 which is worth having. Overall I love my milkshakes and love the variety of these places so I would recommend Sblended to thirsty shoppers especially in the summer months!

Well, it was the week between Christmas and New Years. What do we do? Go shopping! In the middle of…read moreall that walking and perusing, we were feeling a bit peckish. Oh, what's that over yonder? They appeared to have cakes and coffees. I'm now intrigued. The interior design is that of a small French café with warm browns, golds and creams. I'm hungry already. In the small seating area, our group sat at the largest seat in the place, a half-circle booth. I had a coffee, yogurt and granola. A sweet, plain yogurt with some crunchy granola is a light, yet filling, shopping snack. The coffee warmed me up for the cold road ahead. Rob had a hot chocolate and a pain au chocolat. Yeah, he's got a bit of a sweet tooth. Servers were polite, professional and helpful. Our orders took a bit too long, considering we were right behind the bakery counter. Of course, it was very busy. I understand the wait, but I was a bit hangry (hungry + angry). Not a good emotion to have. It's definitely the less American choice we could find. How funny, the Americans come to England, expecting English-style food, but the closest we could find in the mall is a French patisserie.

The selection of cakes is ok and it's nice to see some high-end fruit tarts and breads. We got a pain au raisin, Portuguese custard tart, an almond tart and a cream slice. No complaints.
