I appreciated the hardwood furniture and saw many options that I would love to take home. Prices were reasonable and the delivery fees were particularly good compared to other places around the area.

I purchased the chair back on June 6, 2014 from him. The chair arrived with a crack backing. I emailed John in a timely manner. He said that he would send another backing. After a few weeks, a box arrived. He sent the wrong part. I emailed him again. After several more weeks, another box arrived. It was the wrong part AGAIN. This is even after I sent him pictures of the damaged chair back. I emailed him once again. He PROMISED that he would get my chair fixed AND provide me with some kind of compensation for all the headaches I have had to deal with-especially since I was pregnant and had a toddler throughout this whole deal. He said that he would get me the right part. After weeks turned into months, I received another box (after being on his case). There was one point where he even blamed FedEx for missing the box that needed to be picked up. One excuse after another ensued. This time though, it was the right part, but this too was cracked!!! I emailed him again. He stopped being apologetic, did not answer my questions, and was generally rude and curt for this being entirely HIS MISTAKE. At this point, he told me to find a box (and pay for it) and to send the damaged part back to him in order to get a new chair back. I could not find a box big enough, and he refused to send me one in the mail. He said that he could not get ahold of one-even though he OWNS a furniture store! I had to contact Amazon to help. THEY paid for shipping back and provided help finding a box for me. I had to find a baby-sitter so I could fit this chair back in my car and use my time to find a FedEx place to send it back. After a few days, I received confirmation that it had arrived. I asked for an update on my new chair backing, and he NOW told me that he was not going to send a correct part AT ALL and to take apart the chair I had and send it back to him for a refund. He did not offer to send me a box, pay for shipping, or account for all the time I would spend taking apart the chair to send it back to him. HE REFUSED to abide by his original promise and send me a new chair back PLUS provide me with some kind of compensation. He claimed in his emails that I could never be satisfied with the piece of furniture he would send. All I asked for was a chair back that was not cracked or damaged-this is a completely reasonable request. I have ALL of these emails saved. There are over 60 emails back and forth since the purchase was made back in June. I gave him fair warning that I was going to file a complaint and do everything in my power to show what a liar and unprofessional business man he is. This can be easily fixed by sending me my new chair back, compensation for my troubles, and an apology for all I have had to go through simply to get a piece of damaged furniture fixed. Please, please DO NOT buy from him. You can check the BBB of Minnesota yourself...there are multiple formal complaints filed against him for similar situations. I am 31 years old and never have written a review online about ANYTHING-good or bad...but I am determined to let the public know how extremely horrible this business has treated me.

We purchased an almost $3,000 couch one year ago in February. My husband was told that it was rated…read morefor weight much higher than him and that it was leather. The couch seat has sunk and is no longer comfortable; in fact, it causes him back pain. He has Stage IV cancer and his treatments cause severe fatigue so he needs a place to recline lest he spend entire days in bed. He called Slumberland to see what could be done to remedy this and someone came to look at it and confirmed that yes, it is need of repair. The manager called and my husband was told that the one-year warranty had expired in February, two months prior, and that they could give him a number for someone in Ely to fix it. The "leather" on the headrest is peeling and the manager told him that sometimes leather reacts to certain things in a person's body and causes that. My husband informed her that no, leather doesn't do that but "pleather" does and he was told that the couch was leather. She then looked up the specs and sent them to him (see photo). So, apparently the back part is made of something different than the seating??? She said that he was already given a $700 some dollar discount because it was a floor model and there was nothing more they could do. So, really? We are supposed to stick more money into a couch that we already paid over $2,000 for? We paid extra for the extended plan but of course, since the peeling leather wasn't an "accident" it isn't covered. I guess we should have lied. Buyer beware! Slumberland claims on their website that satisfaction is guaranteed but when it comes down to it, it is not.

I want to say their customer service is above and beyond!! An asset to our community for sure…read more Thank you for your consistent and considerate business.

So I get a message from a guy (I don't know him) telling me he runs any appliance store and would give me a good deal. I told him I did not want a scratch and dent. He kept messaging and said he had one that would fit and he'd replace panels so there was no visible damage. He seemed sincere and since the business has been around for a while and I was going to save $1000 that I would buy his LG. It gets delivered with more damage. I address this immediately and I'm promised it'll be fixed. Since then there have been repeated phone calls and messages most were ignored. If I did get a response it was "we're waiting on the parts." Nothing was ever fixed. My son brought a friend up the end of April that was offered a job there when they stopped to check the status of parts. He tried to resolve it to no avail. After a few months he went back home. Other than remaining fb friends I've really had no association and had only met him when my son brought him for the summer to see Minnesota. I continued calls and messages. Every month, every other month depending on my health. Not once did the owner reach out Until this morning. I had sent a message the day before that to resolve the issue he could buy back the fridge less $600 for its use. I'm being nice and generous. If he didn't like that I am ready to go to court. What he said this morning is that because I made this deal with a person that I'm "affiliated" with (that didn't start working there until 4 months after I bought) it that I could waste my money by taking him to court and pay his attorney fees and his lost time. He also said I was told the refrigerator was discontinued and parts weren't available when I bought it. (I would not have purchased if that were true.) It was quite a bit meaner than that but I'm not going to repeat what he said. I have kept all messages and have the receipt. PS. I had to buy another refrigerator yesterday because this one quit working.

There was feces everywhere. I thought is someone going to come clean this. moments later somebody walked into the bathroom, shut the door and started plunging and plunging and plunging and flushing and plunging, I walked over to wash my hands and that person came out of the bathroom. It was a Menards employee that was going to walk directly past the sink and out the door without washing her hands. I said hey, aren't you gonna wash your hands? She rolled her eyes and I said , I just saw you walk out of there after plunging that filthy toilet and she said well I use hand sanitizer. I said well I'm a nurse and that does NOT matter. Wash your hands.! Oh, it gets better..... I watched her walk directly over to the cash register and start pushing keys. I went over to a man that was on the last row of registers and told him what had happened and pointed out the girl in the incident. Moments later he walked over to her and behind the customer service desk, and I saw them laughing amongst each other. They actually thought it was funny so I told a couple of guys that were managers in the lumber department and a short while later, three of them walked up to the front while I was leaving the store. The first manager of the cashiers that I told came chasing me out of the store and said ma'am ma'am, I talked to my cashier and she said she was wearing gloves I said oh no she wasn't. She walked right past the sink. She did not have gloves on and his response was well, I'll take my cashier's word over yours any day. I said go ahead and laugh when the health department comes in to evaluate. It's really disgusting how filthy people can be and they actually think it's funny. This is why diseases are spread from one person to another to another to another. Makes me wanna vomit.
