Luckily, I had just returned home from a trip when our tank ran out of propane. It was a Saturday morning and the house was 48 degrees that morning when I got up. I assumed it must have been a furnace issue since I am on the monitored delivery. But I went outside and checked the tank anyway and it was empty. I called Edwards and they got someone out here several hours later and filled me up. The driver said there was a small drop in pressure and I told him I smelled propane by one of the fireplace regulators outside. He did his leak test and found nothing. I was told he would have to shut tank off until leak was found and I said that was fine, but he then told me when he was talking to someone at the office that it would be a charge of $185.00 to have a tech come out and find the leak. I have several electric heaters I was going to use but I talked to my wife and decided that we would be fine with paying the $185.00 so we didn't have to wait until Monday and have to mess with the electric heaters. No problem. Well, a few weeks later I received a bill for $4. I then called the office and spoke with one rude customer service woman who told me there was nothing that could be done about adjusting the bill. I asked to speak with a manager and she told me "So-and-so is not here" and that "He doesn't just sit at his desk all day". I just got off the phone and he told me he could lower the bill to $260.00, which is just as unacceptable, but I told him to charge me that so I can be done with this company.
