Tell me why picking up an order with no one else in line takes longer than if I went around the store collecting 20 items myself

I was confused about the Electric kettle prices after I'd paid for it, walking around to look for Customer service. The store is kept clean and well organized. Decent amount of cashiers usually on duty (as well as self service). Easy parking.

I'm writing my review based on my experience this evening, if I could give zero stars I would. Normally my go to Target is the Richmond Avenue location, but this one recently was renovated so I wanted to check it out. Upon finding everything I needed I was on the check out line (register 7 to be exact). There was a young man and his friend checking out, he had a gift card and something with the register must have went wonky and the cashier Isaac needed help. He had walked away and called his colleague Sabrina over. She immediately belittled him in front of us because he left the register a few inches open. Let's be real though, there's cameras all over and none of us are going to jail for robbing a target cash register. She proceeded to help with the gift cards and 1 was empty. This witch decided to toss the gift card over her shoulder onto the floor for Isaac to pick up (check the security cameras at 7:48 PM) I was mortified for him, and so was he. He looked so upset and embarrassed it broke my heart. How dare an employee treat another employee like that. I felt so bad when I checked out I tried to make him laugh and smile. I had asked to speak to a manager when I was leaving but no one would help me. I said it was fine and I then placed a call to their corporate office immediately after and PRAY Sabrina will be reprimanded. Have some compassion if someone is new on the job or learning, some "trainer" she was. What a disgrace for Target to hire someone like that. read more

Target - Department Stores Near Me - Staten Island, New York

The good: Pricing is good, and the clothing (if you find it in your size) is fun and comfy. Huge selection that is always expanding, and they are always right on time with seasonal stuff without being too early (I don't need Christmas lights in July, thanks Costco). The bad: Finding someone to help is nearly impossible. The place, while looking like they're constantly having staff stocking shelves, is ALWAYS out of anything you need. It's hard to comprehend. Registers can be slow and the cashiers waste so many bags and so much plastic by not bagging efficiently. read more

So, my wife suggested I take the children shopping and they suggested we head over to target to pick up some odds and ends.. not many employees on the floor so it was like a search and recovery and not pleasant at all. After about an hour and a half we realize they didn't have much of aanything they wanted or needed and headed to the checkout..WOW!! They have 42 registers yet only two cashiers ‍.. there are about 16 people on each line and after about 20 minutes of the line not moving I just left the shopping cart and left.. upon leaving I noticed there were more people being taken care of at the Starbucks then at the actual target store. Let's just say I've never come back to the store ever again. read more

The New order pick-up takes as much time as if you went to get everything yourself but they don't get the exact items, so be very careful, it can be the brand name of the item but not the type of item. For example, they have different types of Tide Detergent, they will give you whatever they choose. I'm not sure why they expanded on their refrigerators because they are always empty. When they had less refrigerators they always had items in stock, like Horizon milk, Nestle Coffeemate creamer, etc etc. Also, when you're trying to use your Cartwheel, even with their own WiFi, there is never service once you pass the registers. They need to get expand their WiFi by getting axis points in the back area. Please speak to your IT department, it doesn't cost much to do this to improve your customer service. read more

I don't know why I continue to shop here. Every time I'm looking for something specific (children's clothing in certain size) or a lamp or holiday decorations....or school supplies..... make up in certain shades....it never fails. They are out of stock and the neighboring shelves are empty. I'm over this store, they need to get their act together. read more

We just did curbside pickup. Not only was the Target employee wearing his mask UNDER his nose (improperly), he didn't wear gloves as advertised. He had no concept of "social distancing." We watched him lean into car windows of other customers. Instead of just scanning the code on my husband's phone, he TOOK the phone in his bare hands to scan. And to make matters worse, he forgot our toilet paper. We had to come back. We tried to call customer service, no one picked up the phone and when they did, they hung up without saying "hello." The same employee came out to the parking lot to deliver someone else's order and we had to tell him that he forgot our toilet paper. We rolled down the window, his mask wasn't on properly, and he yelled into the car for our last name. Contactless pick up my butt! I must say target is great for alot of things.. You can pick up say a coffee, a roll of toilet paper. do you need a book? Or some pjs? But i go for my prescriptions and let me tell you the pharmacy is stellar. They are nice, never really a wait they go out of the way for you and well thats all you can really ask for when you are sick and just want to get your medications and go home. If you really sad because your sick you can always get ice cream they have an aisle of that too. ;) read more

Wasted son's time training him for a job they were never going to give him. They advertised part time, but wanted full time and were not interested in prior experience. They'd rather train inexperienced people who are available when we they want. Can't expect a college student to devote majority of their time working there when it's my career path. read more

This store is great but the company itself doesn't care for its customers. I've hard a target credit card for over four years and I missed a monthly payment and they reported it to the credit bureaus dropping my credit score 60 points. No one is perfect and I understand that's my fault. But no warning or no understanding about the impact this can cause its customers. I'll be canceling my card. read more

WHERE oh where can someone purchase clothing of some reasonable reputation, a new TV from a variety of brands from budget to blockbuster, AND some cereal and snacks before you forget and get really upset when you wake up in the middle of the night craving Cinnamon Toast Crunch? All this, without feeling kinda sleazy for giving your money to a terrible company whose name rhymes with Ballmart? Target, of course! This particular location recently upgraded their wares to include fresh groceries, now allowing time-swamped moms the opportunity to buy the latest Tinkerbell DVD as well as some meats and breads to feed their spawn while they daze off into an imaginary world of CGI fairies. The quality of their home brand of foods aren't glittering with organic shine like Trader Joe's, but you're not going especially for their amazing fair trade, cage free, omega 3 brown eggs from a rooster down the block named Sebastian, you're going for convenience and relative deliciousness! And to that end, Target nails it. Their food is far and away better than many supermarket's brand name when you compare equivalents: Archer Farms is dope and America's Choice... ehh. Other notable qualities include the cleanest bathroom I've literally ever been on, including my own, and staff in fancy red polos ready to ship you out the door with a loaf of bread, an iPad, and two men's blazers, because they have it all! BONUS: they have a Starbucks (with staff ranging from blithely nondescript to big rude bitches) but they don't take Sbux cards. Beware, kinda! Maybe. read more

Definitely on the top of my list as one of the cleanest and most well stocked Targets I have been to in New York. Aisles were clean and free of debris. The workers seemed happy and were knowledgeable as to where items were. Very large parking lot. read more

I tried calling this target as well as the other one on Staten Island. When I called, twice, I got hung up on. All I wanted to do was give them a Target stock number to see if they had it in stock and to hold it up front at the customer pick-up counter. After that I tried calling Target customer service. They kept me on the phone for over 10 minutes and came back and said yeah we can get through to them as well! Well thanks a lot. What crummy customer service! I asked them to have a regional manager call me back and they said they will try to kick up the complaint and see if that can be done. Very disappointing! read more

I usually enjoy my shopping experience here- the prices are decent and I can check off an assortment of things that are on my list, all in one visit. That's probably the best part. I only gave 3 stars because of the check-out experience. Just about every time I go to this store, I am charged the incorrect price. During my last visit, a whopping five(!!!) items rang up with the wrong price. It's annoying to have to go to the customer service counter for a price adjustment on each trip to this store (while my pint of on-sale ice cream melts onto the underwear, toothpaste, and tabasco sauce I didn't realize I needed until I got there). The best thing to do when you are in this store is to watch the register like a hawk as your items scan, so that you can tell the cashier "nope, it's not $4.39, it's $2.99". Several times. However, it's just as frustrating as having to go to the customer service desk. Sometimes I want to just zone out as they ring up my items. To be fair, I do want to point out that I'm not blaming the cashiers. I'm fully aware that it's their system that does not have the correct prices, but it's still quite frustrating to deal with. If I walk out being over-charged for 5 of my items, the bargains I gained from going to this massive retail beast dwindle to nothing. Hey Target, is that your M.O? It's target- where else can you buy a dining room table, a bike, and a box of cheerios in the same shop (except for Walmart which SI doesn't have). Staff are very helpful if you need something and the selection on most things are good. read more

it's clean and organized. surprisingly solid beer selection too - Rogue, Sierra Nevada, Brooklyn Brewery. fun fact that I forgot: if the cashier is under 18, they can't sell you beer. I got an odd look from his manager as it was about 10 in the morning and I was buying beer and Oreos. more importantly: whenever I'm driving to Jersey, it's a convenient pit stop for me - it's at the last exit before the Outerbridge Crossing, and I inevitably always need to use the restroom at that point in the trip to wherever I'm headed to. just hop off, loop into the shopping center, and it's right there, and then it's easy to get back on. clean bathrooms and there's a Starbucks if a caffeine boost is needed as well. read more

I usually go to the one in College Point, Queens and can never understand how others always say they find all these great things at Target. Most things are scarce. I was returning an item because it was defective and the customer service was great. Kerri and Dominick helped on the return and really went out of their way to help me find the item in the store. I was a little wary of getting the item at first, but the two worked together in selling the item to me. I'm extremely glad that they did because I use it every day. I will return to this store specifically and will even recommend it to friends and family. read more

I'm a regular shopper here. This place is in no comparison to Walmart , Kmart or your typical chain type place. Everything you could want: food, lowest prices on most items you will find, electronics, bought numerous video games here for a great price when on sale, clothes, have gotten many cute tops, bathing suits, sweats, etc that are actually good quality, bath stuff, towels for 3 bucks, can't beat that. I try to contain myself from going here too often because I always end up walking out with a ton of stuff. read more

This store is one of the better department stores. They carry a lot of different items in different categories and the prices are reasonable. They have toys, books, women's/men's/children's clothing, etc. Not to mention a Starbucks! This is another store that can get crowded with long lines, but moves quickly. My experience was terrible they are open until 11:00 but not one register out of the 12 were open at 9:45 all while the 12 cashiers were all on there phones careless, completely disregarding the 38 people waiting to go to self checkout. This 2 is basically for bad customer service. Tried shopping the otiher day with my daughter and was having a hard time trying to balance all my purchases in my hand and hold onto my daughter because there were no carts, yet every employee and every aisle had full carts full of merchandise they were stocking mid day! ( literally at least 50 carts full of merchandise throughout the store) Mentioned to at least 3 employees that there were no carts up front and they were like oh there may be some on the other side of the store, welllll thanks for maybe getting one or emptying one for a customer....very hard to shop for numerous items with no carts, and they should have been using stocking crates or dollies, not putting customers out of there way.....very poor customer service. read more

After swearing off target for 3 years I ventured back in to one in NJ because I didn't have much option. Sales floor help was garbage as usual but one nice girl upfront saved the day. Problem was she only had one of the cabinets in and I needed two. So I ordered the other online and the closest pick up was my original target back in Staten Island. I got the email that my cabinet was ready at 8:30am. I went in to this target a few hours later and they didn't have my order. After waiting about 30min someone rolled up a cart with furniture that wasn't even close to my order. Another wait and someone comes back with my cabinet. The cashier asks me if I ordered this is teal, no I ordered in brown. She has someone check the back room and they don't have brown. So I've now driven to SI, paid two tolls, wasted an hour and they don't have the item confirmed this morning. The cashier radios to another colleague to come up front and "bring a coupon or something because she's from jersey". Well isn't that nice. A coupon doesn't help and neither did anyone in the store. No one ever showed up to speak to me, she was too busy from what I overheard. The cashier told me that I have to take it up with target.com because they are separate businesses. There wasn't even an offer to call other stores in the area. Nothing, simply tough luck was their response. Thank you for reminding me why I stopped shopping target. I spent another hour in the store on the phone with target.com. Once I got a supervisor I at least got the item with expedited shipping to my house and a discount was taken for my troubles that didn't even cover the tolls. But whatever I got my items and a fresh reminder of why I'll take my business elsewhere every time. read more
