Used to come to the target years ago but popped in three times over the last month to return a few things. The store is a little dirty in a little messy, but overall they have everything you would need. However, the reason for three stars is that I always hear managers yelling at the employees. I was at the return line, and a lady was screaming at the young women behind the counter. It was so awkward to listen to that. I literally wanted to run out of the store, and I felt awful for them. I've also experienced this, when browsing in the isles. When in the dressing room, I also heard people being yelled at. Please for a store that's all about customers take this behind closed doors and show some respect. read more

I went to this Target to do a pick up order and waited like a half hour for my order to come out even though I alerted them through the app that I was on my way and about 15 minutes away. In my opinion, I should not have had to wait so long... However I was not the only one waiting. There were 3 other cars waiting next to me just as long or longer. read more

Self check out is a life saver. I see those long lines and think to myself, thank God there's a self check out, My legs would hurt. I feel awful there is only 3-5 cash registers being manned and like half a dozen people down each line. The Selection is hUGE. This is definitely the worst, most dismal Target location I've ever been in. It's a complete mess like many of the other reviewers have mentioned. Every department I visited looked like it had been rummaged like a sample sale. As well, there was a single long checkout line of about 40-50 people and only 3-4 cashiers, plus self-checkout with 2 broken registers. There were 2 employees who were just directing customers to which cashier to go to - could they not have been actually checking people out as well to help make the line move faster?? Once I saw the checkout line while shopping I put all my items back to their original locations and got out of there. Thankfully I'm only in town for a week, but locals have to live with this. Average Target - which doesn't mean much these days aside from this location not being the worst of the worst, which is something I suppose they can brag about since there's not much more they could or ever should brag about. Came here for a few specific things (supplies for my son's school project he told me about at the last minute of course), though passing by on the highway for such a long time made me curious at the same time. It's a hard to miss location as it's literally next to the 87 (north bound side) - but don't let that fool you, as it's at the end of a sizable shopping complex that you have to do through to get here from directly off the highway. As far as Targets go, it's generically the same as every other location as far as layout and stock. If you frequent Target, you should have no issues finding what you came in here for. Employees are nothing special at all from what I saw. They're very drone-like and move slow. Not quite the friendly types either. You get what you hire I suppose. As opposed to Walmart, Target does have the appearance of being neater, cleaner, and fuller shelves. I went to a Walmart on the same night and while Walmart was busier, everything looked a mess - here was far less busy and everything was cleaner. If I had to spend my money at all at one of these corporate chain stores, Target would be the lesser of the two evils. I did just that as I didn't spend on anything at Walmart and instead got what I needed here. The location at the Palisades Mall is the closest to here (coming from the south), but you're probably best off here as far as finding what you need. The lines for the self checkouts were as long as the ones for the 2 registers open during a busy time, which sort of beats the purpose as far as waiting in line at the end of your shopping trip. You're sort of screwed either way at times, but at least there's more registers at the self checkouts and more than half the customers are probably faster and more efficient than anyone Target would hire anyway, so if there's lines and you feel you want to do it yourself, the self checkouts are the way to go. Parking lot is generally huge, so you should have no issues finding a spot. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here if I could help it - but if I'm ever in dire enough need, then it's just an option. You could do worse actually. Normally would be one star, but I'll give it two for the overall neatness, clean appearance, and actually having what I needed for the time. read more

Anything in this neck of the woods is bound to be worst of breed. Target is no exception. The store looks overrun and defeated. Every department is a mess... clothing that is barely presentable folded, gains little allure when you have to search for your size on the floor. My overwhelming impulse was to fumigate every surface that I touched. For their part the employees must have been hired as mimes or mannequins. Useless all. I like Target but you can't like them all. The staff they hire to control the store are EXTREMELY RUDE!!! Especially there security ! The target staff allow people to walk around w OUT masks on. They have these GOONS outside stating for the first hour the store is opened to the elderly but I see 30 something year old people walking out w shopping bags , DISCRIMINATORY !!!!! So damn rude ! This store is tucked way in the back of the Spring Valley Shopping Plaza. There is only one entrance to the plaza off New Clarkstown Rd, near Rte 59 and the 287/87 highway. This is the standard full-sized, single story Target, and includes the fresh grocery section. No Starbucks at this location. Plenty of parking in front of the building. Regrettably, I had a bad experience at the little diner. There was only one person behind the counter, and she was too busy with baking the breadsticks to serve the customers lining up at the cashier. When I asked for quarters, she was very rude, and when she gave me my change back, she dumped the change on the floor, and did not apologize. Since it the closest Target, and is open on Sundays, I will come back. I just won't buy prepared food at their diner. read more

Hi - I thought I should share my experience this morning at Target Spring Valley, NY. I am over 60 yrs old and reluctantly went to the Target in Spring Valley during their "Compromised Customer Hour" this morning to pick up an item that I had already paid for online for a diy face mask. This was the very first time that I had left my home to visit a store so I was extremely nervous and unfortunately with good reason - I was absolutely appalled. I wore a face mask. Upon entering the store my path was literally blocked by 2 female associates who held out a small bottle of hand sanitizer and asked if I would like one. I said yes, she dropped it in my hand and said "that will be $2 please", so I handed it back to her. Unreal. Neither wore masks and no social distancing that's so proudly displayed on the website. I was instructed to stand on a particular red circle on the floor to wait for an associate to appear at the Customer Pickup Desk. The parking lot was almost empty so there were very few customers in the store and there were a number employees at the front end by the registers talking, joking and socializing. Again - not one person wore a mask and they were very close to each other in small groups enjoying their conversations while I waited. And waited. No one came to help me. No one even looked my way. The website said that I'd be in and out of the store ASAP but Spring Valley was certainly not as described. Eventually I called out to an employee nearby who was cleaning the floors (he was wearing a face mask, yay!) so he kindly went to the front end to summon someone. I continued to wait for 5 or 6 minutes until someone came to help me and it felt like an eternity. The employee who came to help me was also not wearing a face mask. He had passed me by a number of times as he went back and forth, in and out of a door behind the Customer Service Desk and had totally ignored me each time. He was very much involved in an ongoing conversation at the front end. Had I known that it was his job to man the desk I would have called out for him to stop and help me. I could not escape this employee without a face mask! He did not/would not go behind the desk and as I continued to back away from him he continued to try to close the space between us as if we were dancing, until I finally yelled to him to move back and away! He laughed and apologized. He couldn't find my order using my name on his store device. I waited in total frustration. I finally asked if it would help if I gave him my order number, so I looked it up in my email on my phone and eventually he found it, however, the order was not at the counter (of course). So I waited some more until he went to find the item I had ordered and came back with it. Needless to say I took off. Like really, excuse my wtf, but WTF..?? I'll send this complaint to the Target store manager as well as Corporate. We all try to do the best we can under the current stressful circumstances and it's not easy for anyone, but for a store that boasts about their response to this horrific virus it's deplorable. Stay away from this Spring Valley store. If this is how they behave during a historic pandemic I wouldn't trust them on any given day with much of anything. read more

I stopped in here with a slight emergency. I needed a new GPS after mine decided to crap out and I was almost out of data on my phone. I was running late for an event that I was co-hosting and really needed a new GPS to get me back on my way. All Targets are designed pretty similarly, so I booked it to the back and waited by the tech desk. One of the guys was helping someone and the other wasn't sure if he needed to help a person also standing nearby the desk. I waited to see what they were doing with their customers to pick who I'd try and squeeze myself in. I then noticed one of the guys finish helping a customer and walk up to someone who was browsing a nearby aisle, and not me, who was standing still by the desk. So, I'm thinking that I have to go stand by the GPS' in order for them to unlock them rather than stand by the desk. Just as I do that, the other tech guy finishes with his customer and helps someone who came up to the desk after me. Confused on what to do, I go back to the desk. I hate being the 'pushy' person but given my circumstance with being late to a party, I had to be. In the end I was helped about five minutes late, but a courteous 'hello! we see you and will be right with you' would have helped instead of me going back and forth. read more

This used to be my favorite Target but lately it has been really disorganized. All the help seems new and confused aobut anything you ask. They try but cant find things. On my last visit there were no carts inside. I told the greeter and his response was , Oh, Not I will tell someone, just Oh. The store looked funny like it was going out of business but someone said they are remodeling the store. Well if thats the case they really need the pardon our appearance signs all over. Food section is moved and not stocked well at all. I walked out with nothing and still no carts inside, but plenty of them all over the parking lot. I hope they get their act together read more

Never done the curb side pick up before and I have one word, "WOW". Target has this figured out. You need the target app before you can do this but they do make it easy. We ordered last night and they tell you before hand if they have it or not. I even got notification early this am that one item wasn't available. After 8am, let them know your one the way and when there, just hit "I'm here". Within 2 minutes, Geena came out with our stuff. She had a mask and gloves on. Scanned our app and confirmed my last name. We were on our way. I think I found a new way of shopping. read more

The front end is entirely incompetent. Without going into a long store, there is either no or poor supervision. There aren't enough lines open. The cashier announces every item you have out loud, as in a SNL skit. I shouldn't be on line for 20-30 minutes with frozen items. I shouldn't have to call the store to tell them they need to open another register. I've never seen such a poorly run store. read more

Love Target. Loathe this location. The store always seems unclean and picked over. Not to mention, it's a cluster F unless you go really really early or really really late. The inventory issue is quite possibly what bothers me the most. I do enjoy the Tar-jay fashions and by the time I get to the racks it's clear they've been riffled through and plundered for the goodness they contain. I go to this Target for non-perishable staples if I don't want to deal with the parking situation at the Pallisades or it's a Sunday and I don't have the luxury to go to Bergen Town Center. The worst Target store that I've been to in my life. Don't bother going here on a Sunday. Lines get backed up and it took me 40 mins to pay for my stuff. Oh and the cashier lady totally looked like she didn't give a rats a** about customer service. Right in my face, she told her fellow Target employee that she does not want to work there. Horrible store. We were in the area and just dropped in for 1 thing. Not one person that worked there was able to even help me. I caught at least a dozen employees just chatting down an aisle when they were supposed to be working. They actually ignored me when I asked where I could find an item. Every time I visit this store I have a good experience. There is always ample staff on hand and they are courteous and kind. My most recent visit was on Thanksgiving. I was overwhelmed by how flawless the experience was. The line went quickly and the security personnel were super nice. The map was a pleasant surprise. The store was incredibly organized and there were probably too many employees! The staff member that was singing really made the experience though. David you have a beautiful voice. They have the most disgusting bathrooms I have ever seen at a target. Half the stalls didn't have toilet paper and those that did it was just sitting on top of the holder not in it. Then when you get to shopping the have rows of shells that are just empty nothing on them and those that do have stuff on them are a mess. read more

Just no....nope....no....no....I don't know why I keep going back. I think that's the definition of insanity! I go to this place in the hopes that maybe it gets better when I go back, but nope. You walk in and there's just stuff everywhere. Garbage on the floors, maze of carts, clothes on the floor, shelves half empty. The place looks like it's been looted or rioted against. I thought the self checkout might be a bit less painful than standing on line. One time it was and one time it wasn't. So disorganized!! I bought several items and then realized I had forgotten something, left my items at the cash register and went back to get the forgotten items. The cashier had given me a receipt so when i waited back in line with my forgotten item he just used my previous receipt and scanned the new one. So once I paid for everything and went to get my stuff , half of it was gone !! There staff had returned all my items . Asked for help where they just took my receipt and went into the back and never returned. So now not only are my items missing that i bought but I have no receipt!!! read more

Worst staff I have ever seen. Everytime I walk into this place I feel as if I'm buying my stuff right off the street. The employees are the furthest thing from professional. They talk to eachother while they ring you up, don't greet you or answer anything you ask. Don't even attempt to go here after around 9oclock! You will literally wait online for 39 minutes for a single item while they have one lane open and all the other staff is "on break" I don't normally write reviews but I have been coming here recently because it's close to my hotel, but I had to let everyone know how bad this establishment is. I've been going to this Target since it opened, and I've been to many Target location. I've always really liked this Target. The prices are slightly higher than Walmart or some other stores, but it's always been worth it due to quality, selection, and customer service. That's what my extra $1-$3 is getting me. However, you upgraded the decor and layout of the store recently and it seems like with that upgrade, you downgraded everything else. I've gone in about 3-4 times since the upgrade. It seems the entire staff was fired and a whole new group of 12 year olds was hired. You can never find someone to help. When you do, they put their hand up in your face and tell you "I'm on break" (true story, not an exaggeration). The racks used to be organized and now as I'm shopping I can hear people complaining, "When did target become like Marshalls?" And it's true, as a lot of the racks are disorganized and just all over the place. You guys don't sell Mossimo OR Merona clothes anymore which saddens me, and your jewelry selection has been drastically, tragically reduced. read more

This store underwent a complete renovation and reorganization and it's terrible! Usually after a store gets renovated, it's more customer friendly and nice- this store is not. Everything is moved around and not easy to find. Whereas you used to be able to run into the store to grab a greeting card or some small item, now you can't because who knows where to find these items? There is no signage indicating where to look for something and no personnel to even ask. In the old store you could distinguish between clothing departments because of the brands and it's seems they don't carry brands like Merona anymore, so now you have no idea what department you have wandered into- juniors, women's, maternity- who knows? There are these little sections with clothes, but good luck not only figuring out who the clothes are meant for, but navigating one of their shopping wagons through these sections! This store optimizes the old adage "If it's not broken, don't fix it"! The only plus is that there is now a Starbucks in the store! read more

A great big Target (as most are). You can see it from the freeway but somehow I always miss the exit. I love their trial/travel size section. If you have coupons for these things you can really save moolah. I've always been a Target fan... Well except for their political affiliations. My only gripe is there is never more than a few different infant BOYS clothes to select from. I can't stand that. I do appreciate when stores carry (more than two of) the shopping carts with an infant seat. That's awesome. read more
