Over the past 2 years or so I've been shopping at Talbots more and more. I thought it was going to…read morebe my "go-to" store. Not that anyone is going to retire from my clothing purchases, but Talbots has received more of my recent spending dollars than any other company. With Talbots, I've shopped online, at outlets, brick and mortar stores, and I'm also in their rewards program. On Wednesday 4/17/2024 I visited the Stratham, NH store to see if I could find a new pair of jeans to jump on the wide-leg trend. After several different styles (Talbots, if you're reading this, please work on your size consistency!), I found a pair I thought I was really happy with and purchased them. The jeans went straight to my closet from the car. On Sunday, 4/21/2024 I decided to wear them to a brunch. I had them on as I was getting ready and started to feel that they were just a bit too big (the pant itself is pretty heavy) and after a 15-20 minutes I decided to wear something else I felt more comfortable in. Sadly for me, I had taken the tags off and tossed them because I really thought they were going to be fun. On Tuesday, 4/23/24 (**six** days later), I brought them back to Talbots really just hoping I could exchange them for a smaller size. The sales associate consulted with the store manager who replied with a hard NO. No exchange, no return, no store credit without the tags. Didn't matter that I had just bought them at that very store just six days previously, she just wouldn't have it. I'm not sure if this is an actual Talbots policy, as this is the first time I've had this situation. It's hard to image that a retail store can't create a tag, but maybe that's true for them? Even still, I was pretty taken aback that Talbots had such a severe return policy, especially for repeat customers. And it's not as if the Talbots name isn't clearly attached to every garment! Those jeans went from Talbots, my home, back to Talbots...that's it. If that truly is your return policy Talbots, you really need to have your sales staff drum that into the heads of every person that buys from you. Needless to say, I will no longer be shopping with Talbots and I'm disappointed by that. Also disappointed that I have a $129.00 pair of jeans that I don't feel comfortable in. If you're a size 6 and want a cute pair of jeans let me know, I'll give you a discount!

In fact, my experience with Ariss was so pathetic that I am terminating my membership at BJ's and driving the extra 20 minutes to COSTCO where I was loyal member for many years, and treated as such, before I relocated. I did find a lot of stuff way over priced for a junk store. I would think that this is a store that should be selling these products for a lot less. I did find a couple good deals & enjoyed looking at some of the stuff that they had. I don't like how they have a lot of beauty health items in the boxes that they were delivered in vs out on the shelves to be able to see them better. Their hair products are way over priced & I also found a few items with no prices on them. What else was very disappointing was to find Easter, V-day & Christmas items in here selling @ full price. No discounts for being past the holidays? I saw some decorate X-mas cookies but they expire in 09/2026. Like why sell this at full price? It won't be good in Dec. 2026. They have a table with shoes on it all over the place so you actually have to pick them up to see what size they were. Lots of dog & cat stuff but way over priced. There are no shopping carts inside the store & I had to ask a customer who had one outside where they were located. They have them outside kinda hidden & very few of them available. The store is very crowded with lots of stuff/junk. John our cashier was exceptional! He was very patient in checking prices on a couple of items that had no price tags on it. It seemed that everyone else wanted to check out when my Mom & I were there so he had to call for backup which came right away. This definitely isn't a store that I would visit when I'm in town on each trip but maybe once a year.

They also had a good selection of nick nacks, kitchen stuff, furniture & all that other stuff out back. I was very impressed with their prices. I visited another goodwill store back in April down the street & was very disappointing as their prices were very expensive & they hardly had anything in their store. This is the store to go to!!! I went in hoping that they may have had some Pyrex for sale but didn't find any but walked out with a cat litter box, dish drying pad, old fashion travel iron and a plastic dog food container. The pet stuff I actually got for my Mom's dog & cat. I went in with my friend who was looking for some sheets for his camper bed & he walked out with this super cute small desk & chair for his daughter & a dresser for himself. Those were also reasonably priced. There was a little line that moved kinda slow. There were only 2 cashiers working. I believe they have to manually punch in the prices (I can't remember...lol) so that can make things a little slow.....so don't be in a hurry when stopping in here. In the past I've actually dropped off some donations which was very easy. They had bins on the side of the building that you drop your stuff off in or you could walk it inside next to the bins & drop it off in there. Real quick process.
