I was told by staff member 'Joe' at the end of this furniture problem that he "sat on all the couch cushions in the store and within 10 minutes the fabric began to bunch up on every cushion". He refused to refund the furniture we bought & the 'the manufacturer (Benchcraft) will not speak to customers!' He also said that we're supposed to hand brush the fabric backwards after each time that anyone gets up, from sitting down. I told him this is 'Faulty furniture & this problem 'is not a normal thing' for furniture to do. (whole story below) We won't be back to this place again! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ (I dont want other people to get ripped off like we did. Buy from a trusted large, name brand store.) (Beginning:) After purchasing a love seat & chair, within the first week the fabric began 'bunching up' on all 3 seat cushions & stayed like that (on all 3 cushions). I called National Unclaimed Freight store in Lansing & I texted photos of the 'fabric bunching problem' clearly seen in photos, upon their request, & I also stated that I wanted to return the furniture & get a refund. The staff politely said they would order 3 new cushions at no cost and said let's try this first. After a lengthy wait, maybe 3 weeks I think it was (or seemed that long) the staff brought 3 new cushions out to us, that again started doing the same 'fabric bunching up on all three cushions'. I called the store back again, then at 'Joe's request... I texted new photos, of the new cushions, to 'Joe' whom I spoke to before, & again I stated that I want to get a refund on this furniture. It's now going on week #2 after calling, & I still have not received a call back. So I called again tonight with nobody answered the phone. We bought this furniture on July 12, 2024 but I believe it was approx. seven weeks before we received it. Search reviews online and at BBB.org (Better Business Bureau) to find furniture stores with a good reputation that stand behind their products & name to keep their customers coming back!!!!! It came and we thought the color seemed off but we figured sometimes hard to gauge how a table will look based on a small sample. So we carried on. Didn't love the table but also didn't hate it. But we were very aware it didn't match our kitchen cabinets that we matched up the sample with. Fast forward to this summer when we decided to order a coffee table, an end table and entry table in the exact wood and finish as the dining table because with an open concept living concept the last thing we wanted was to to add another shade of wood to the layout. It was already off given the difference in the shade of the table vs our cabinets, which was supposed to match or at least be close. Everything was ordered to match. Yay! Then they deliver the coffee and end tables and they are the EXACT color of the original sample we used to decide on our dining table but definitely NOT the color of the dining table. We loved it but it confirmed-something/someone messed up our dining table finish. They sent out someone to take pics after we reached out.. It's obvious. After a few weeks we then hear there's nothing they can do. Sooo, they mess up, offer no explanation (or even an apology) and....that's it? Very disappointing. At the very least, own your mistake. You're better off at IKEA where you'll know the furniture matches.

I purchased a Bassett leather sofa and reclining chair as well as the extended warranty for both pieces the end of August. 2023. By May 2024 the finish on both pieces of furniture was starting to peel and a stitch coming loose on the seat of the sofa. I contacted the warranty company sending close up pictures. I was told that this was "clearly a manufacturer's defect" and to contact Pilgrim House, which I did immediately. A home visit was scheduled a few weeks later to have someone from Pilgrim House repair department view the pieces. A couple of weeks after the home visit I received a call saying they were contacting Bassett about the problem. Another 3-4 weeks later after my numerous attempts in to find out if Pilgrim House has heard anything I was told they would contact me. Finally at the end of August 2024 I received a call from the Pilgrim House repair department saying Bassett would not do anything more than send a tube of paint to color in the areas that were peeling. I then asked to speak with the owner of Pilgrim House. He returned my call me a few days later. After expressing my shock and displeasure with the proposed resolution, he told me there was nothing more he will do. I asked if he would be satisfied with that answer. I reiterated that the problem started so soon after delivery and I purchased the extended warranty, I was told by the owner in a most unprofessional way that there was nothing else he was going to do. Obviously customer satisfaction was not a priority. It took almost 2 months for Bassett to send the paint and then wait for the repair visit where the paint was applied and the loose stitch fixed. I WOULD NOT recommend Pilgrim House and DEFINITELY would not recommend buying the warranty unless you use knives and sharp tools while sitting on the furniture as that would have been covered.

The side table immediately started showing signs of chipping paint. We contacted Bob's and after emailing them pictures of ALL of the damaged areas (FYI we do not have small children living with us) they directed us to file a claim with GUARDIAN PROTECTION PRODUCTS, INC. Today, I received an email telling me that our claim was not a covered benefit. Save your money!! Do not buy the furniture protection package! It was an additional $249.00 added to our bill for a 5-year warranty (we purchased electric recliners). Very poor service and very, very poor-quality table!

We saved about $400 overall and got a 3 year warranty on both. Big Box retailers couldn't get them to us until mid November and we likely would have paid more than full price for them.
