I then called because I was covered by store insurance to have them come back to fix the damage and they deliberately ignored my calls because they did not want to travel to Brooklyn. They have yet to call me back even though I've left multiple messages on the machine and through Amazon after my initial call telling them that I wanted them to come back. I was greeted warmly and Maria came to help me. I had been thinking about getting a traditional futon with a good mattress but they were much too heavy for me to manage. Futonland has a nice selection of sofas that easily open up to a futon style bed. The beautiful sofa that I saw online was at this showroom. I was reluctant to take the floor model because it was a bit dirty so Maria said she would call to see if a shipment was coming in anytime soon. She also told me if she couldn't get a new one she was sure the floor model would clean up nicely and she could offer a discounted price. I agreed to her offer and she gave me her cell number. It took a little more than a week but she followed up and said a new sofa would not be available. She cleaned the floor model and sent pictures. It cleaned up nicely and she offered a discount on the price. Even more accommodating, I asked for a delayed shipping date due to plumbing and painting issues and she agreed. She even sent me pictures of 3 different free pillows to choose from. I paid for "White Glove" delivery and the sofa was delivered on time and assembled. It is just beautiful! I am very pleased with the whole "Futonland" shopping experience. Advice to anyone reading this... when possible you should always buy from local stores that you can visit and view exactly what you are buying. Be a polite and respectful customer and mostly likely you will be treated the same way back.

I bought this 6" Comfort Pure futon back in July and haven't had a good night's sleep in the 6 weeks I've owned it. I bought it with the Tokyo A-Frame. I use the sofa daily and the bed every night. I got the 6" all cotton instead of the 8" cotton/foam thinking it would be easier to compress in the sofa position. But when sleeping it soon developed a deep "pit" in the center with the 4 edges remaining fat and uneven. I've owned several futons over the years and am well aware you have to massage the mattress into shape the first couple of weeks. Well, I've flipped, turned, flipped and turned, punched and stomped multiple times and it's still deformed. Over time the futon is becoming thinner and thinner in the center, 2-4 inches in places, and has no "loft." It even compresses so much when lying on it that I can feel the slats of the frame under my hips and pelvis. When sitting on it configured as a couch the center sags even more. Sometimes I even sleep on the floor just to get firm back support. The overall futon now feels like a ski slope with moguls. Like balls of cotton bunched up in irregular places. I think it's poor construction and cheap materials and stitching that are responsible. I can say I'd never recommend this futon to anyone, and would in fact discourage them from buying it. My biggest complaint though, is now I'm stuck with it, and will have to sleep on it until it ultimately falls apart and I have to buy a new one. When I reached out to Futonland regarding this situation I was given a boilerplate response of what I needed to do to make it more comfortable, which I had already tried as described above. What's worse, they stated "The All Cotton 6-Inch Futon Mattress is designed as a starter mattress and is intended for occasional or lighter use rather than everyday use." Really? Then why wasn't that stated on the product page for this item? Why was it never posted anywhere on their website? Their solution to resolve my situation was for me to purchase a mattress topper. And they offered me a whopping 10% discount! Wowwww! 10%. To buy something from them to fix a problem I should never of had? I requested they supply me with the mattress topper at no charge. They said they would not because they had no proof the mattress was defective. Ha. This is a typical "not my problem" response from a company more interested in profit margin than customer satisfaction. I've attached here the same photos I sent to Futonland to illustrate my point. Their merchandise is great and could last you a life time. My parents have bought several items as well. I grew up with their furniture in my house. They also have a large selection in stock. They have plenty of binders that are full of options that aren't in the store. The prices are magnificent. I tried a bunch of places (Ashley's Furniture, Mace Brothers, etc) and they were really expensive compared to Leslie's. I paid $1,900 for a large, luxury, leather couch. I looked at a similar couch at Mace Brothers and they wanted to charge $2,300 or more for bonded leather. As for service, the staff is knowledgable, especially Jack. Jack was extremely patient and was so great with us. He helped us find the perfect fit for our confined space. He knows his stuff. The delivery guys are great because they are hospitable and do everything they can for the customers. They have a warehouse and store. The buildings are a few blocks away from each other. The staff of both locations were fantastic and helpful. The area, however, is not a dream spot. Newark has declined in recent years with crime rates rising. I sometimes fear trekking around that area. But the prices and quality send me back every time. I would highly recommend this store.
