I came here for a Twins game. There are a lot of commercial parking garages and a few metered street parking options available. Yes, the garages charge premium prices for parking during games, but that is standard for the majority of sporting events across the country. I kept it simple and took an Uber here. It was easy to get in and out. The Field is not only home to baseball games, but has hosted concerts and other special events as well. The staff there is extremely friendly and helpful. They really made my experience that much more enjoyable. I was seated in the club level, just to the right of home plate, which is foul ball territory. I did not get one, but there were a couple of them in my area. I will admit that the food and drinks here were a bit pricey, but just like the parking situation, that is pretty standard for most fields and stadiums. The good news for me though was that I was there on a Tuesday night, which just so happened to be Dollar Hot Dog Night. So, I filled up on hot dogs. The field had special events/games in between innings, which was cool. The view from my seat was awesome and the club area had bar seating available that was indoors and overlooked the field. Even though the Twins ended up losing the game. I had an awesome time. My experience was amazing. It was easy to get in to and around the stadium. You could not find a friendlier staff anywhere and the stadium was very trendy and clean. There is a variety of food and drink spots to choose from and an ample amount of restroom options. First class stadium, with a first class staff. I would go to an event here anytime. read more

We recently attended the Green Day concert here and it was an awesome venue for a concert! We have been to many twins games here and enjoy all the extras the ballpark has to offer. We usually purchase seats in the lower price point and walk around. There is always a great spot to stand and watch the game. The seats are typical stadium seats and of course the beer and food can get a little pricey but you are able to bring in an empty water bottle and fill it up. They also offer 612 Saturdays on select Saturday Twins games that has great deals before the game! read more

Target Field surprised me for two reasons. Being a Dodgers fan, I don't see too much of it on tv and it's super nice and integrated into the area well, giving it a cool urban feel. My family spent the weekend in Minneapolis for the Kansas City Royals series. The first two games were great. We had a good time and enjoyed the stadium, both games in section 215. The third game, however, was a completely different experience in section 114. After several innings, I suggested to my two teenage sons that they move up a few rows to an entirely empty row so we could spread out. Within minutes, the an old little nerdy bald usher in that section escorted them to the top of the stairs and refused to let them return to our seats until I went up to get them. When I questioned his reasoning, he got aggressively in my face about the Twins' seating policy and said his manager would be coming to speak with me. For the rest of the game, we watched him run up and down the stairs, removing people from empty seats as if it were his personal mission. I understand there may be a policy about moving seats, but I've never seen such an over-the-top reaction to fans simply trying to enjoy the game comfortably. We ended up nicknaming him "the fun killer." At the end of the game, I told him how I felt about his behavior, and he began yelling that we were being ejected, told us never to come back, and accused me of lying to his manager--though I still don't know what he thought I lied about. I've been to nearly every MLB stadium and have never encountered such an outrageous employee. He single-handedly ruined what could have been another great day at the ballpark. On the bright side, at least I have a funny story--so in that sense, the "fun killer" gave me something to remember. read more

Visited Target Field for the first time with my dad while he was in town since he is a big baseball fan. We were in section 320 in the first row of the section to watch a Twins vs Royals game. We came for a Saturday afternoon game which is normally a pretty crowded time, but the weather was a little iffy and they were playing the Royals so it was empty - announcer later said ~22K in attendance. The staff were quick and friendly and there was no line to enter. We were able to quickly locate our seats despite entering on the opposite side of the field. We walked directly to the stadium so we did not have to worry about parking. The stadium is really well kept, modern, and the seating is arranged very well. Despite being very high up, we had a perfect view of the game. The addition of the game clock to speed up the game was awesome. There were a whole lot of food and drink options although we never had any sellers come into our area. The other fans were incredibly friendly and sparked JP a nice conversation with us. Leaving the game was also quite easy and efficient. One of the more enjoyable ballparks! read more

Target Field is where the Minnesota Twins play baseball. Target's headquarters is located in Minneapolis, so it does makes sense that you have Target Field and Target Centre, with the latter being the home of the Minnesota Timberwolves for basketball. If you are a tourist, you could get these two places confused because they are fairly close in proximity in downtown Minneapolis. When I lived in Minnesota, I attended my first and only Twins game at the old Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. I was sweaty and uncomfortable sitting there on a hot summer day. On top of that, the Twins lost! My introduction to Target Field has nothing to do with summer or the Twins. I went to see the Minnesota Wild play against the St. Louis Blues at the Winter Classic, an outdoor hockey game. Over 38,000 fans took in an outdoor game clocking a temperature of -23°C, with a windchill making it feel like -32°C. It was the coldest temperature in the Twin Cities at this point this winter and the coldest Winter Classic ever. Were we all nuts to watch an outdoors game in frigid conditions? Yes. Diehard fans? Yes. Was it worth it. Definitely, yes! The closest parking lot is ramp B. I was about to turn right to enter the lot when a parking guy said to try ramp A. I was not impressed. I actually spent another fifteen minutes cycling back to another entrance into ramp B and got in. I found a spot towards the top level of the lot. I was thankful. This man caused such a delay to my plan. I got there an hour before the game started and still managed to miss the players skating onto the ice. The security check was super slow, likely because the policy at Target Field allowed you to bring a small purse and a blanket. At the Xcel Energy Center, you can't bring a small purse, let alone a blanket. The signage was straightforward getting from the ramp to gate 34, which is the main gate. There are escalators, elevators, and shallow ramps to get you over to Target Field. It was a short walk over. It was all indoors, which was helpful on this cold day. I got to the vicinity where my seat was when the American national anthem had started. After it was over, the signage confused me. Section 139 pointed to a row of seats. Section 140 was everything above this row of seats. Huh? I asked a couple what seats they had. They were kind to let me know and that information guided me to the right place. I was in the second row, which required a set of stairs to the left of this couple. The setup was a bit odd to me. The removal of a star in my review is a combination of the snow not being cleared in the stadium and how dangerous it can be accessibility-wise. Trying to get past beer-drinking, layer-wearing, huge people in seats without any rails in front and snow on the ground was pretty scary. Luckily, I made it past everyone, brushed off the snow on my seat, and sat down. I came with some experience watching a game in frigid conditions. I attended the 2006 Grey Cup game in Winnipeg. I will say that it was much colder at this Winter Classic than Winnipeg in November. What I wore and brought with me that kept me warm were the following: - Hat that covered my ears, scarf, and mittens (you want all your fingers together for warmth, rather than gloves) - Hand warmers (slip them in your mittens and boots) - Top layers (sweatshirt and Wild jersey) - Bottom layers (corduroy leggings under joggers) - Blanket (wind-resistant on one side with the other keeping me warm) - Boots (mid-length with lining that keeps your feet warm) - A warm jacket I was warm throughout the over three hours that I spent watching this game. The Wild sadly lost to the Blues, but this experience was amazing and unforgettable. I am still thinking about it and it was over two weeks ago. I used the washroom after the game before I headed to my car. I waddled over to it. I now understand why penguins waddle. It was too cold to exert more energy than necessary! The washroom was clean and spacious. After the game, I thawed out in my car before I felt warm enough to head back to the hotel. Everyone was civil and polite letting others into the lineup and down the ramp. It was impressive. I can see Target Field being an ideal place to see a baseball game. There isn't a bad seat in the house. I still managed to see everyone playing on the rink where I was. I wouldn't mind seeing the Twins again. Target Field is more spacious, especially with seating and legroom. A friend asked me whether I'd attend another Winter Classic here. If I do attend another one, I hope it's much warmer! Top notch ballpark, the 21st on my quest. Clean, modern, and close to all the good stuff downtown. Feels like a safe area. I had (highly affordable) seats in the very swanky club level which is both new and rich with history throughout the halls; the air conditioned indoor area and its concessions came in handy during a long rain delay. The best bathrooms too, which shouldn't be overlooked at a ballpark. There's an excellent craft beer selection, as well as lots of unique food options (outside of the typical hot dogs and burgers), throughout the field level (which anyone can access regardless of your ticket). I got a "soul bowl" and a sour beer, two things you wouldn't find in most parks. Delicious. Comfortable seating, great views, friendly staff, and an all around cool park to look at. Probably won't be in Minneapolis again for a while, but if I am, would definitely love to catch another game here. read more

As many know, my husband and I are making our way across the US in attempt to visit all of the MLB stadiums. Had I not toured the stadium, I might not have given it such a high rating. However, our guide was SO knowledgeable and learning so much about the history of this team, field and more, made me like this stadium even more! I HIGHLY recommend touring before going to a game to learn about it as well. As far as the field, it was a nice facility, and a good location too! The food was average, nothing stood out to me. What did stand out, was something they offered that we hadn't experience yet. We had lower level seats on the third baseline and they have a "special" concession and restroom that you can only access if you have tickets in the lower sections. The concessions were basic, but still saved a lot of time and it was convenient! Overall, we'd come back! read more

Enjoy a midsummer night's game near the banks of the Mississippi, with plenty to do in and around Target Field. Easy parking factor: Downtown Minneapolis gives many options to park on the cheap, then it's an easy quarter-mile stroll to the stadium. Cruise through the Skyway to be indoors the whole way, or during those mid-April "Belgian Spring" 39/sleet games. Cheap ticket factor: Twins fans love their team, but there are still plenty of seats under $20 if you don't need to sit with the rich people field-level behind home plate. Great view, roof-sheltered seats abound if you're okay with upper-deck action. Only 38K seats also means you'll be close to the action anywhere. Welcoming factor: It's always summer at a Twins game, and you'll get ample exposure to Twins-lore, even though this is one of the newer parks. At least you can be sure the breeze blowing toward the fences isn't caused by somebody changing air pressure for a homerun since we're out of the Twindome. Food factor: Target wins in the variety category. Peanut butter n jelly candied bacon sandwich? Yes. Channa Rice Bowl? Yes. Greek to Me Sharable Board? Yes if you want to drop $42. Bollywood Smash Salad? Yes. Plus your location in the heart of the city provide plenty of choices pre/post-game. Move freely about the cabin factor: great view everywhere, so take a stroll and some pics away from your paid-for seat. Plenty of standing-room views close to the action, with friendly attendants who will help you find a good photo backdrop and not kick you out too quickly. Little kid souvenir factor: we missed BP but I imagine it'd be as good as the next place for souvenirs and foul-ball catching. If you're actually a Twins fan this would be memory-lane heaven, despite the newer stadium vibe. The day was dreary, drizzling, and somewhat destitute from a sunless standpoint. Alas, your hero (me), looked hopelessly upon a field which featured a soaked tarp and a delayed first pitch. The weather was uncooperative at best allowing for restricted activity since the game had been postponed. With the on field activities on hold, the intrepid hero of this review set off to find in-house entertainment. In a weather delay, the staff of target field boldly stepped up to the challenge of the watery wasteland previously known as a baseball diamond while defiantly stating to all the fans, "we will not be conquered." With the confidence of a weathered sea captain who'd faced thousand of storms of epic proportions, the workers of target field captained us to a fun filled time. Mini golf was had (your hero lost to his wife, but that's not important), food was eaten, and Jumbotron time was smiled upon. With a less than ideal extended pregame time, the stadium functioned like the well oiled machine it was built for. Your hero was easily entertained by all the features the ballpark had to offer. The food was delicious and I'd highly recommend a hotdog, peanuts, and one of those delicious pretzels. The park has a couple really cool gift shops that, while your hero is unable to afford most of it, Twas still great to peruse and fantasize about one day owning. One thing of note: if you want a commemorative penny, make sure to bring in 2 quarters and a penny. It's very difficult to get change as most places only take cards. It was hard rangling up the change form a staff that never takes cash so come prepared! read more

Where the Minnesota Twins play Major League Baseball, Everyone's a Winner! Target Field is a State-of-the-art Major League Baseball Stadium that gives fans a winning Major League Baseball Experience.    Target Field has been the Home of the Minnesota Twins since April 14, 2014. On my Minnesota vacation, it had been my Major League Baseball Home for three night games and one day game. Born and raised in New York, Target Field marks the first time that I'd see the New York Met's and Yankees play in one week and in the same stadium.    Before even setting foot in Target Field, I was impressed with its location at the northern edge of downtown in the North Loop District. Via the streets or skyways it is a relatively short walk to the hotels. It is only a couple of blocks from Embassy Suites where we stayed. Target Field is immediately north of Target Center. And, Target Field is adjacent to Target Station where fans can ride the Green Line as far east as St. Paul, the Blue Line as far south as the Mall of America or the North Star train northwest to St. Cloud.   Target Plaza is the Gateway to the stadium proper. Connecting the city streets and skyway to the admission gates, it incorporates statues including Kirby Puckett, Rod Caren, Twins Mascot TC Bear, and a large golden glove. The Plaza provides a view into the baseball stadium. What I found unique about the Plaza in comparison to recent Major League Baseball Stadiums that I visited is that it is not along a closed off street. Facing away from the stadium there is an oversized image of the Target Mascot Bullseye on the Target Center Arena.    I found that getting into the stadium to be a breeze. I greatly appreciate the express entrance near 6th Street where fans can breeze right through if they are not carrying a bag. It was so nice to not have to take out my phone to enter a baseball stadium. I wish more stadiums would do this.    Immediately inside, I took in a grassy play area that is popular with families. Further inside this stadium that is largely built of limestone rock, the main walkway was a continuous circle with a sundry of concession stands. Well aware of the exorbitant prices that stadia charge for food and drinks, I did plenty of that before the night games. However they did have a hot dog and soda special that was taken advantage of during the day game.   Seeing four Minnesota Twins games here, I got to see the different parts of the stadium. Although it is an open-air stadium, the serene 80 degree Minneapolis weather was enjoyable for watching America's Favorite Past Time. If it had been hot, this stadium has the largest canopy soffit in Major League Baseball. My favorite aspect of the stadium is the "Minnie and Paul shaking hands within the Minnesota state outline" feature. This is a very unique stadium landmark above centerfield that creates a sense of place. It shouts out that "You are in Minnesota." Everytime the Twins hit a home run this feature turns into a few seconds show with fireworks. Nearby is the fourth largest Major League Baseball scoreboard. For the most part the seating and scope of viewing were comfortable.    Whether the Minnesota Twins win or lose, Everyone's a Winner in Target Field. I can see why  "ESPN Magazine" voted it the Number #1 baseball experience in 2010. All four times that I saw the Minnesota Twins win or lose in Target Field, it was a winning experience. read more

#21 on our MLB ballpark bucket list! Unfortunately, Target Field was very much middle of the pack. It wasn't the worst, but also far from the best. Unlike many stadiums that we had been to, not much was memorable about Target Field. It was just lacking that extra iconic something and, considering it was built more recently than others, was very much cookie cutter for the new generation of ballparks. The stadium was nice, new looking and clean. However, Target Field had a closed off outfield, which meant limited views. The only view was of the Target Center and a few buildings near right field, which wasn't much to look at. The interior walkways were very much plain and, honestly, if you weren't looking at the field you wouldn't be able to tell where you were. The right field area did have a grassy pitch for fans to congregate and hang out, but that was about it. There was no special exhibits, Twins hall of fame, etc, to see. As for the seating, the entire 2nd level was dedicated to private boxes or suites, which meant general seating comprised of the 1st, 3rd and 4th levels. With that said, we sat in the 3rd level by 3rd base and the view of the field was still very clear, but it would be cool if the entire 2nd level wasn't taken up by suites. We did love that the ballpark was built in the downtown area and easily accessible, by metro and car. In addition, parking was amazingly easy, with all of the parking lots nearby, and ridiculously inexpensive at $10-$15 during a game. Typically, stadiums have expensive stadium lots or expensive private lots that are located many blocks away, but not Target Field. Everything just felt convenient. Overall, Target Field was OK. For one of the newer ballparks we expected more from Target Field and it was a bit disappointing that more wasn't done to make the stadium have a more unique feel to it. Also, it would have been cool for them to dedicate a special section to former/retired players, display some game artifacts and highlight some of the achievements of the team, including their 2 World Series titles. read more

I took my 8 year old daughter to a midday Twins game at Target Field. This was her very first professional event of any kind and she had a blast. The field is easy to find and we had plenty of parking close to the stadium. Parking was $20 so about what I expected but it was super close - walked thru a breezeway, on the street for a quick walk and we were inside the stadium within a few minutes. The stadium was incredibly clean and there were lots of workers to help with ticketing and finding our seats - lots of nice older retiree types. Target Field has lots and lots of food options and everything was very good and the prices were fantastic for a sports venue. There was a food option every 20 feet so lines were never too long. Also have plenty of restrooms which also kept the lines down. We sat in the outfield and it was a terrific place to watch the game. Definitely an A+ experience and my daughter had an amazing experience for her first MLB game! They also had a beanie giveaway for kids - very high quality and best giveaway I've seen! read more

Since my husband and I aren't baseball fans, it's kind of interesting that we've been to the field twice to watch the MN Twins play. It's a beautiful facility, best that our tax payer dollars could buy. Me, bitter? Eh, I'm over it by now. Those of us that are into engineering and architecture can still find something to admire, even if it isn't baseball or a return on investment. One neat spot we found in the ballpark was a beer vendor that sold all taps by the size, not priced by the type of beer (macro-, micro- or craft brewed). As beer snobs, it gave us great pleasure to enjoy our favorite craft beverages without being penalized for our choice; thank you! We made a small tour of the lower level and checked out a number of sight-lines. Really, there are a lot of great seats! We hung out in left field and enjoyed the hit parade from the Bomba Squad. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the fan experience immensely. read more

I'm a lifelong Texas Rangers fan -- since 1972 -- yet my experience here (with my Rangers getting their asses kicked by the Twins) convinced me to root for this team as well. Yes, Target Field and the employees here are that good. First, beautiful stadium. The Texas Rangers (had) a beautiful stadium and decided to build another one. I'm sure it will be fine, but I wish they'd looked here and not so much at the Juice Box in Houston. Rant aside, your digs are spectacular. So too are your stadium employees. I'd gone to get a beer, and the old guy working my section wouldn't let me enter. "What's the deal?" I asked him. "They are in the middle pitching to a batter," he responded. "And? You're telling me I can't go to my seat because of that?" "Yes, because if you do, you'll block other people's view of the game." Wow. Just wow. How awesome is that? I've been to dozens upon dozens of ballparks in my life, and this was the first time I've ever experienced such courtesy. Sure, I was ready to complain, but how could I? He was right. I remember the glory years of the Twins, and I didn't like them much then. The Kent Hrbecks and Kirby Pucketts of the world were beating my Rangers, after all. But that was then. If you're a Twins fan, good luck to you (so long as you aren't playing Texas). If you're a Twins fan who hasn't attended a game at this beautiful ballpark, shame on you. It's a real gem. read more

MLB ballpark #5 of the bucket list of going to them all. Loved the open concept and the easy to navigate food concourse. Also really liked to see how many activities they have for kids at Target field and I don't even have kids-- from the big bobble head dog, to arts and crafts, to picture op stations, to ball retrieval play areas-- so kid friendly! Learned from guest services that this ballpark is the greenest environmentally and cleanest of all the MLB ballparks and it shows 100%! To the water saving programs, to the special toilet flushers to help conserve water, to all their organic, recycling, and trash cans they had throughout the park. The guest service rep went over how each game they have a team that sorts out all the bins of disposables to ensure everything was disposed of correctly, like you would see at a recycle plant. Absolutely wonderful they are taking such a great initiative on that! If you are new to any MLB ballpark, you can get your "first time here" poster from guest services, which we did and how we ended up talking to the rep for awhile. We have one for each park so far on our bucket list, to put in albums for later. We were there representing Cleveland (sorry Twins fans) and they ended up winning in the extra inning with a Grand Slam. PS- wildest food I saw was the BOOMSTICK, which was a 24 inch hotdog. WOAH! From the July 28th, 2021 game vs the Detroit Tigers @12PM. This was my first time attending a MLB game. Came to Minneapolis a day early just to attend my first game. Extra bonus because the Twins offered a Veteran's discount and it was Wednesday, AKA dollar dog day. Made my way to the stadium and entered. Minnesotans are always so friendly and everyone at the gate were no exception. Made my way to my seat and I liked the stadium but have nothing to compare it to. Seeing a pitch and hearing the crack of the bat is great in person. I hear the crack of the bat and I'm moving trying to get a foul ball. I'm pushing, shoving and elbowing 3 kids trying to get at the ball. After this happens a second time someone informs me that the chance of getting a foul ball in the 3rd tier, behind home plate is pretty slim. Joke's on you though because, well there were actually no ball hit anywhere near my section. So I guess that 4th kid was lucky. The highlight of the game for me was seeing a Glam Slam, err I mean Grand Slam in person. Glam Slam for those who don't know is a song and former club owned by hometown hero Prince. Since I had dinner reservations later I didn't get to gorge myself on ballpark food like I wanted but there is always next time. All in all a good time was had by all. Well maybe not Twins fans since they lost 17-14. With a score like that, it seems I was at a Vikings game rather than a Twins game. read more

Bummed the field itself if beautiful! However 2 complaints. 1. they advertised vegan hot dogs and after waiting for 20 minutes in line I find out they actually do not have the vegan hot dog... nor any other vegetarian option. Beside sides and snacks. I was very hangry at this point. I ended up finding something at one of the places. I got a burrito bowl or whatever it was called and it was meh... not impressed at all. 2. The way you have to get out at the end of the game by going down escalators is a horrible design and took way longer then it should have. So many people and a small funnel of room for people to leave. Other then that it's a beautiful park the bathrooms were clean and well kept. Everyone working was friendly and helpful with a good attitude. read more

Saw a game here on a Saturday evening while in the area for a game and a ballpark off my to-do list. I really liked this park - we uber'ed to the back entrance. They allow outside foodstuffs (not sunflower seeds) into the park - the corridors were jam-packed with food options, beer stations etc while walking to your seats. One thing I noticed was that the beer and drink vendors set up behind each of the seat sections instead of walking the aisles. This may be because of COVID and returning to normalcy but I only came here July 2021 so I don't have a baseline to make a determination. Park sight lines were awesome - loved this park - and just a very beautiful place in downtown that seems both easily accessible and laid back. Really would come back here again and enjoyed just about everything with being to MPLS. Highly recommended! read more

Target Field is home of the Minnesota Twins. For outside food policy, you are welcomed to bring into the stadium but not allowed to bring in to any restaurant, club lounge or suite. For food items that can be "thrown as a projectile", it should be sliced or sectioned. An example would be hard fruit such as an apple. If you wish to bring in beverages, only a sealed, bottled 32 oz (or less) water can be brought in. However, small boxed juice or milk can be brought in for children. Other beverages are not allowed. But of course if you have liquid medication, that is allowed. Just like any other baseball stadium, you will have to go through a bag check. For bags, only 16" x 16" x 8" or smaller is allowed to be brought in. You are not allowed to bring in hard sided bags or coolers. During my most recent visit to the midwest, my husband and I decided to catch a game here (we tend to do that when we are on vacation). We sat in Section 109, Row 11, Seats 15 & 16, which was a pretty good view of the game. What really got my attention with the stadium is the Minnesota state shaped sign. I really like seeing 2 players, dressed in Twins attire, shaking hands on opposite sides of the river. It lit up every time the home team scored a home run, along with fireworks going off over the sign. Although the stadium does seem small to me (Los Angeles Dodgers is actually the largest stadium in the US), I thought it was nice and clean for the most part. Our seats (purchased discounted tickets on stubhub.com the night before) were great. There were definitely plenty of fly balls coming our way (which I hated since I am in fear that I will get beaned by one some day). Free WiFi was available during our visit and easy to get onto. Overall, our visit was enjoyable and made for a nice date night. read more

I have been to multiple twins games, as well as a charity event here at Target Field. It is such a great stadium. They have so many different food and drink options. There is also so much parking around, but it's a hassle if you don't like parking downtown as it is right downtown. The food and drink are expensive but so are all food and drink at stadiums. The atmosphere is so fun though and they have the best fans! overall, a great experience. read more

Had an excellent time at this beautiful park! Amazing sight lines throughout the stadium, even from the concessions areas. The restrooms were spacious and clean, which for a sporting venue was quite impressive. However, in my humble opinion they could stand to update the food choices to be more competitive with other modern facilities (my friend had one of the saddest hamburgers I have honestly ever seen anywhere--like, high school football game quality). Meanwhile, my meal at Soul Bowl was mostly pretty tasty--other than the very bland mac-n-cheese. And if you are feeling gluttonous, they have an thick 2 foot hotdog call a "Boom Stick"--no way I was going there! Getting a ticket was super simple as the Monday night game we attended was not even half full. All in all, a great place to take in an MLB game (even for this hard-core hockey fan). read more
