This Target location is attached directly to the commons mall. Like the entire mall facility, parking is scarce no matter what time of day or which day of week. This location is a bit crowded. Not just the through traffic from the mall and people who think its fun to just walk around in target with no intent to make any purchases, but the isles seem tight and small. The clothing sections (women's, mens, infants) racks are all very close together and crowded. This makes it nearly impossible to maneuver a cart. Other shoppers are all up in one's space, too. Sometimes the store looks messy and unorganized. This is not the store's fault. Target is super busy and some customers can be rude/slobby/disrespectful. As for customer service, I've experienced an array across the spectrum. Some employees are kind and helpful, others hate their job... But never anything as bad as Walmart. -that's for another review. read more

I like Target, but my recent experience wasn't the best and I'm reconsidering shopping there again. The location has changed since the Commons Mall expanded and Target got pushed further west. Parking is now more of a challenge and further away from the entrance. Disappointed to see greeting cards sold with profanity here. I'll be writing the corporate offices about this. I'm a plus size woman, and the clothing selection is barely anything and pretty ugly. I looked at the watches, and besides the chunk of Timexes and Casios and children's watches, there was nothing available. There weren't any shoes that I liked either. They were all high heeled sandals, cheap flip flops or butt ugly flats. I bought some earrings that were under lock and key, and when I asked for help, someone came over quickly but called another person. She arrived after a few minutes and told me I could get the earrings at cashier stand #6. When I was done shopping, no one was working at that stand, so I was looking around for an employee. I asked another cashier to call someone and they figured out that the earrings were with another cashier. When I got home, I realized that something I had put on the conveyor belt at the cashier didn't end up in my bag. Target needs to get better customer service and product selection. read more

I love this store, but I made the mistake of calling for store hours (sometimes the hours vary from what the website might say) anyway, they need to seriously re-do the message people have to listen to. It went on and on about wearing masks and so and so on...then it was said all over again in Spanish, maybe even a 2nd language after that, that's how long it was BEFORE I could get to store hours! I liked the old location better, easier to find parking! This Target is attached to The Commons Mall (I still call it Sea-Tac Mall) and is very clean and well lite. If you could find them, the staff here are very friendly and the prices here are reasonable. We did find what we where looking for, so that is always a plus, I would recommend if you can to get the red card and link it to your bank account, as you will get 5% off your total bill. Overall, this is pretty much like your normal 1 story Target store, other then parking issues I would recommend them. read more

This Target is part of a mall setup, and overall it is a pretty nice Target to visit. I can't say there is anything special about this location, and like all other Targets, I get easily confused by the layout. This location has had a bad history, but overall it isn't that any worse than any other suburb of Seattle. Not a place I'd go out of the way for but certainly an option if I'm in the area. read more

Covid has given lots of companies an excuse not to do their jobs & customer service is damn near non-existent which is the case here. Staff in the clothing dept are rude, especially the haggard looking woman that kept interjecting while I was speaking to another employee. They don't allow you to try clothes on I don't understand how trying clothes on spreads covid. If I take the clothes home then return them because they don't fit, that's more exposure to a possibly infected individual. This store has a few negative reviews, I'm sure this woman Is the reason, at least clean the restroom if you're not working in the dressing rooms. I won't be back, I'll shop in Puyallup. OK so I went to target today and their restrooms are so disgusting. I mean it is so unsanitary. I felt like I was going to contract hepatitis. I didn't even want to hover over the toilet let alone inhale to very strong odor of urine. I was in the nail section for literary 30 seconds 1 aisle over from the registers. An employee started scanning random things a couple of feet away. She stayed in the same spot and never moved or spoke. She was not fulfilling orders and there was an off chance that she was scanning for inventory purpose. I could not find the items I was looking for and I was waiting to see if she ever asked to help me. I finally approached her she said she was not familiar with the product and was new to the section. In my mind it just confirmed that she was probably just there to watch me bc of my color. I'm just saying that I felt profiled and disheartened. I do not steal, I was dressed well and I'm a professional person. I know cosmetic are high theft items, but please find a way to handle the situation without making paying customers feel devalued and profiled. I've seen plenty of shoplifting from "others" but you spend your time following me over a $8 nail product. If I am made to feel this way you don't deserve my hard earned money. Customer service was appalling during my most recent trip to the Target located in Federal Way. There was a mother and young daughter in front of me in line. The little girl looked approximately 7 or 8 years old. She was just excited about her toy to be rung up.. waving her little toy around for the cashier to scan it. Cashier by the name of Cruz wearing a rainbow face mask was shockingly rude to her and her mother. He snapped and yelled at them saying, "Can you wait?! Can you just wait!" All While waving his right finger at them like he was scolding them. I was shocked. The tone and treatment that these paying customers got, it was beyond disgusting. Finally, Cruz snatched the toy from the girl and rolled his eyes at the mother. The mother quietly and politely asked, "Can you be a little nicer?" He didn't say anything back to her but continued to look annoyed and pissed. That's when I decided to say something to Cruz because I couldn't believe what I was seeing, the little girl was so embarrassed she started to tear up. I told Cruz, that I agree with mom. I told him that she is just a little girl and he can definitely be nicer to the customers here. Maybe he was having a bad day but there was absolutely no reason to take it out on paying customers, especially on a little girl. I mean, he made her cry! What's not to like about Tar'jay?!? I love the familiarity of how the store is laid out and what I can really appreciate about this Target is the produce area.. not all Targets offer that section! Even thou the produce section is limited and small.. if I'm already in the store shopping for other things and need green onions or bananas or eggs or milk; I can quickly head to that section and pick those items up. The store is kept fairly well organized and the staff can be helpful if they know what they are talking about. I love finding the end caps with clearance items because sometimes you can find some really great deals on them. The electronic section especially the CD area can leave you with much to be desired because that's where the pickings are VERY slim! Parking can be a toss up, depending what time of the day you go, but now that they've opened up that other section for where Kohl's is suppose to be, you can get lucky with parking in that area and just walk over. Word of caution: If you plan or happen to use coupons make sure you read the fine print. Some of the cashiers are not familiar with the coupon thing and think to only go by the picture they see on the coupon, which can be frustrating because that's not the case with most coupons. Make sure you know what you can get with your coupon so that you know exactly how to make the transaction go smoothly! read more

I came in during an off peak time. There weren't many people in line to pay but when I did get to the register the sales guys Scott C advised me he didn't have much money to make change so would be best to use my card. I said I could only use cash to which he slammed $2.23 in dimes, nickels and pennies. I reported him to the manager. Who wants this much change. This isn't a mom and pop place. Get the change to please the customer. Won't return to this particular location again. read more

I truly wish this Target was a place one doesn't dread going to. It has twice the empty shelf space as your typical WalMart with less than half of the square-footage. Are you a man who needs some new shoes? Forget about it! Are you a guy who needs socks? You'll have better luck finding them in a Taco Bell. Most recently I went to this target looking for a calendar (because at the end of December, what retail store wouldn't be carrying calendars?) and a new coat. I should have seen it coming, but they had one small (and empty) display for calendars in the whole store, and they had one rack for men's coats that had exactly four (size small) coats. I looked around and the situation seems a little better if you're a woman looking for clothes/shoes, but that's not enough to save it from all the other bare-boned departments (I didn't actually bother looking at the food aisles except to see their craft beer selection, which of course was practically nonexistent). I hope not all Target stores are like this (this is only the second one I've been to; the first was a tad better, likely because it wasn't inside a mall); I think I'll take a look at the one in Tukwila later and keep my fingers crossed. read more

Very disappointed, this target went from social distancing and cleaning after everyone to barely enforcing a mask policy. Every other store in Federal Way is requiring a mask to enter the store, Even the mall this target is located in requires a mask to enter and is clearly posted, Not This one, they have stopping cleaning after each customer and now just offer hand sanitizer which everyone touches, I asked employee why they can't enforce mask policy they said the store managers won't let them, I followed up with why doesn't the store security enforce it, and they said the managers won't let security enforce it if the police won't, sounds like complete B.S to me. I did see employees telling other people to put masks on but many refused and many took it off or pulled it down once in the store. I've shopped here for years and seeing the continued cleaning and social distancing efforts put in place by this store made me feel safe shopping here even during COVID-19 but seeing the sad state it is in now is disheartening to say the least, I also asked what would happen to target if king county went back to Phase 1, would they stop taking returns, or go back to cleaning and social distancing, he replied with a disturbing No, saying management decided that cleaning and social distancing were not necessary anymore, and if the county went back to phase one target would still be operating as it is now, I didn't know the managers are health professionals. if target really cared about it's shoppers and this country it would have a mandatory mask policy with continued cleaning efforts and social distancing rules, it's a shame that target used to be a part of this community I've seen there employees at volunteer events, and always had excellent service, but going to shop there ever since the social distancing rules In the store were lifted it has gone down hill and I'm not sure it can come back, i have noticed staffing is very limited employees seem unhappy and tired no matter what time of day I'm there, in my honest opinion this store is horribly managed, who ever Is in charge of the federal way target store should be ashamed. Target is chill. I like the fact that you can shop for groceries, clothes, electronics, toys, supplies, and more in the same space. I don't hesitate to come here when I need something. I only really come here for Acne products and seasonal stuff. Target is basically a Walmart that's not a Walmart. I like that it has slightly less of the typical Walmart crowd. The store is always clean, and employees have always been courteous when I needed them. This store received a remodel in 2013/2014, adding a grocery section and enhancing the look. I took away some space since the store wasn't physically expanded, but it still feels roomy, so it must have been planned out well. Target Federal Way is conveniently attached to The Commons Mall. A downside would be that parking is fairly difficult to find. Finding a spot with shade is only possible if you park at the back of the store. There is a mall entrance there, with Target on the right. I will have to point something out in @Sheri F.'s review. The Commons Mall did NOT expand, it shrunk in size. Target is in the same location as it always was. This store also has Target Café, featuring Jamba Juice and Pizza Hut, plus a seperate Starbucks (see review). If that's not your thing, The Commons Food Court (see review), about 2 minutes walking distance, offers some decent choices, as well as Subway and Honor Coffee & Tea, both nearby. read more

The girl with long black braid didn't ring up my merchandise properly. Instead of the bunch of bananas she was ringing it as individual bananas. That one I caught, an extra dollar, but still an annoyance. She asked for my date of birth for something that didn't even need it. It wasn't cough syrup or anything that contained alcohol. What I didn't catch when I got home is she charged me a few extra dollars at $9.99 for something that was a six dollar and some change item. Listed as cleaning supplies. I guess she just typed in whatever price she wanted to put and didn't think I would care. I do care. A dollar here and a dollar there. I was getting a little OCD calculating it in my head, but it adds up. If this is messed up over hundreds of transactions, that would end up to overcharging hundreds of dollars to customers. This is the large Target in the Commons Mall. It is a few years old but it is always clean and it has a large grocery section. The kids like shopping at Target (it's prettier than Walmart but more expensive). If I'm not concerned about price, I prefer this Target over the Walmart across the street. read more

I absolutely LOVE Target! I go to a Target at least once every week for my necessities. This used to be the location I used to go to all the time when living in Federal Way. It was nice, because they're connected to The Commons, where I could get some other shopping done along with catching a flick at the theater. Anyway, I haven't been to this location since I've moved back to Seattle. And I must say, a lot has changed. I guess they're in the process of redesigning their layout of the store, because we found some aisles wider than others. I LOVE TARGET!!! =) This location gets moderately busy. I was just there on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty empty. But I notice their shelves do get emptied out on Saturdays because of the specials they have. Staff is okay. Store is clean. Set up a little weird but you should be able to find things. I saw fabric softener at a end aisle shelf and I went into the aisles on both sides and couldn't find detergent. As I'm pushing the cart is about 5 island shelves away at the corner of the store away from the fabric softener...weird right? But thats all I thought was odd.
