When Targets first came out i really thought they were like disneyland! They seriously had everything and anything i could potentially want, and cheap! It seriously doesn't get any better than this place. However, reccently i've discoverd some things #1 The stuff isn'all that "cheap". Sure its better than designer clothes (ie my awesome election night dress that cost like $30) but most of their kitchen supplies are similar in cost to BB&B and you dont get to use the 20% coupon. I hear good things about their shoes, but my big foot feet just can't fit. #2 Its disorganized. Things are frequently misplaced and mislabeled. I once walked up there with an end table i thought cost $30 and a dress for $19. Needless to say i was shocked when my total was $122. Apparantly they were $80 and $40 respectively. Yea, not cool #3 the target brand stuff stinks. My new can opener is already broken and after one wash my towels felt hard and crappy. When i treated myself to name brand (Thomas O'Brian) towels, i was much happier I will give it credit for having everything under the sun in one place and therefore depriving my wallet frequently. And the lines move quickly for the most part I probably would have given 4 stars, but i had an awful experience with a dressing room clerk there. I was trying on track pants for lacrosse and asking my boyfriend how they looked. Now i'm lucky to have a man in my life that iwll admit "Those are way too tight on your butt", so after he said it i didn't need her to say "you know hes right". Obviously if he said it, i wasn't going to buy them! COME ON. I was very displeased with the situation. So will i come back? Of course! Its WAY better than the hell that is Walmart. But they definitely dont impress me the way they used to. read more

If you are looking for a good photo experience, do not come here. Other than the competence of the photographer it was a terrible experience. First let me say that the photographer, I didn't get his name, was quite good. With the exception of missing a noticeable lock of my younger son's hair hanging out over his ear, the pictures were first class. Everything else was bad. We had a Groupon offer, and we could clearly tell what they thought about that. The staff at the counter was somewhere between rude and dismissive. In addition, the whole process was rushed. Finally, there was a free CD with three of our photos free with the offer. To get any more, you needed to buy all of them on a CD for about $80. As a whole, the experience was not even worth the discounted price. read more

One of your employees, Nada decided that her time hanging out at the Starbucks was more important than being polite or helpful. We all have bad days but that's no excuse to take it out on other people especially at your place of work. She emerged from the Starbucks when called for by another employee for assistance and she could not be bothered because apparently her time hanging out at Starbucks is more important. read more

MISLABELED ITEMS IN ELECTRONICS DEPARTMENT. I thought I was picking up a hard drive on sale for $69 and I paid for it in the electronics department. When the item rang up, it was at the original price. Turns out all the inventory that was on the shelves as being on sale was totally wrong and the hard drives that were labeled as being on sale were not on sale and vice versa. So now instead of being able to do a swap, I have to go to the return department and go through this whole bullshit thing of returning the item that was mislabeled to begin with so I can get the other item that was on sale. There's also only one person working the return and the line is 20 people long. So what should've been a 10 min excursion to target gas turned into a 40 min nightmare. This is seriously the worst Target I've been to. SAVE YOURSELF THE AGGRAVATION AND GO TO A DIFFERENT TARGET. read more

This is absolutely the worst target I have ever had the experience of shopping in. I have been in this store numerous times since moving here in July so my review is based on all of it. The signs denoting sales are absolutely horrible. Things in the sale Paper won't have the sale tags in this store, or items will have sale tags then not ring up on sale. I've personally had this problem more times than I can count, the latest being the laundry detergent sale today. I have only ever had one pleasurable experience with a cashier that I remember. One experience I had a cashier nearly shatter a glass candle because she literally threw it in the bag without wrapping, several that had no idea how to ring up standard manufacturers coupons, and a few that rang up an item twice and then didn't know how to void the erroneous one. I now dislike shopping at target, and often think twice before attending this location. The chantilly location is definitely preferable, just not convenient to me read more

Like many reviewers, this Target is located in a bad location. It is always congested and I try to avoid it during peak hours. I think the layout of this Target is really nice and it reminds me of a layout of a Target back in Ohio. This Target has a pharamcy, optical, sells wine and beer (delish!), some food. I also like that the return center is right as soon as you come inside off to the left. It is in an area that doesn't interfere with people coming and going from the store like Reston's Target. read more

I used to think that all Targets were the same, until I came to this location. This Target is actually backwards as far as organization, so that alone throws me off when trying to shop. Their location also isn't as big and I feel that their selection isn't as extensive as other locations. I tend to avoid this location unless I REALLY need something and don't have time to get to another Target. read more

I love this Target location. Not only is it convenient to my home in the Fair Lakes Shopping Center but I find it to be consistently well stocked and to have an awesome staff. In the last year or so, they completed a huge renovation to the store so it now includes a decent size grocery area that has produce, dairy, poultry, and frozen items in addition to the dry products they've carried for years. The produce/poultry section is much smaller than a normal grocery store but when shopping for all the necessities you go to Target for and you then get your grocery shopping done at the same time, it's just a huge time saver! They have a photo shop, optical services, and a pharmacy as well. I'm going to go back soon for my flu shot! read more

I probably frequent this Target more than any other in the area, and I've always found it to be clean and well-stocked. Sure, the check out lines can get kooky, but I suspect that's some sort of Target corporate policy -- wait until a million people are in line for the three registers you have open, then panic and open 10 more at once. Parent pro tip: if your kiddo needs to use the bathroom, go to the family room over by the pharmacy. Speaking of the pharmacy, the team here is great and will text you when your prescription is ready, so no need to keep coming back to check. Get the Pharmacy Rewards card and get a 5% off storewide coupon for every 5 prescriptions filled. read more

I visited the Target CVS Pharmacy for my flu shot and had a great overall experience! The gentleman who checked me in was extremely friendly and efficient. He told me it would be about a 15 minute wait for my shot and I was pleasantly surprised that it only took about ten. He was diligent in reviewing my allergies and ensuring that their records were updated accordingly. For the actual shot, I was taken back to a small room next to the pharmacy. It was very clean and I was glad to not be sitting in the middle of the store. The pharmacist was quick to provide the shot and was friendly to chat with. They had a wide selection of bandaids, which I thought was a nice touch! I picked out a glitter bandaid, which made me quite happy actually! :) Their bandaid choices should be a big hit with any kids that need to get a shot too (ex/ Avengers, Paw Patrol, etc). To finish the experience I also received a coupon for $5 off my next Target shopping trip! Winning! This was a MUCH better experience than visiting the walk in clinic like I did last year. I'll definitely do this again next year! And PS - pharmacies are already running out of flu shots, so don't delay if you'd like to get one! I learned today that October is the most popular month to get them! read more

Completely agree with Matt Z. The biggest problem here is the design of the parking lot and inroads into the lot. It is amazingly complicated and convoluted. Whoever designed this got their kid's art project mixed up with their blueprints. read more

What's not to love? They have almost everything I need, appease my impulse shopping urges, and their recent addition of groceries helps me when I need to pick up a few items (though I wouldn't do a whole grocery trip here). It *does* get crazy in Fair Lakes so I try to avoid coming here during the peak hours during the weekend. Here's another bonus: Target stays open til 11 pm so I can do all the shopping I want in peace late at night. They have really solid store brands and the staff for the most part stay out of your way. If you shop here often enough you learn which cashiers are slow and can avoid. read more

Best Target around. Bright. Clean. Friendly staff. I should really just avoid Wal-Mart all together and shop here. read more

I try not to visit too often because I always buy more than I intended to. Plenty of parking. Usually very clean and organized. I like that you can buy food, toiletries, clothes and home goods all in one place. I wish they sold more organic food though. I might have heard/read that this is something the company is working towards. I search for bed skirts online and went in and found exactly what I needed. Their packing supplies are expensive. I can find the same stuff at the dollar store for so much less (obviously). If you can't find something, tracking someone down will get you going in the right direction. I used the self-checkout for the first time. I scanned in all of my items and after I put the last item in the bag, it said to remove it. I did, but it felt strange holding an item while swiping my card. I felt like I was doing something wrong, although clearly I wasn't. Computer error, not human error. read more

Its Target -- they all look the same, they all have the same prices. The parking lot is always full and is in one of the worst designed mall areas in all of the US -- so be prepared for the typical DC-area bad traffic. It has some in-store pizza hut (I think) food options (but I've never eaten there so I cannot comment on it). Otherwise, its fast, convenient -- everything you want from a Target. read more

For starters when i entered this establishment i was not greeted by anyone but instead I saw the manager which i found out later was yelling loudly at one of the workers about something to do with they're percentage. But anyway i continued to shop and most of the things i found in clearance or on sale were misplaced. I simply asked if they could understand my confusion and come to an agreement but this woman i think her name was Alana started to give me an attitude and told me i don't have to shop there if i don't have the money for it and i guarantee i won't shop there again. read more

This Target is clean and well lit, the staff are super friendly and they seem to have more of what I am looking for than any of the other ones in the area. read more

Not a bad Target. A bit crowded though. I went to this location looking for a patio set. I found chairs but the tables were crazy expensive. I'm not paying over $30 for a tiny patio table. Other than that the staff was friendly as I did not know how to find the patio furniture. I also stopped to look at the bathing suits... An ok selection, but over priced. I should expect that though. read more

It's a Target...so it really has to wow me to get more than 3 stars. Location is great, right next to the always packed, always disorganized Walmart. Unfortunately on the weekend it's still quite difficult to find a space. Bathrooms are a lot nicer than I expected, and if you visit during the weekend (even in the wee hours of Sunday morning) chances are many of the shelves will be bare. read more

My first issue with this Target is that while I was walking around with my fiancée one of the employees started following us around the store. At first I thought I was just being paranoid but then my fiancée said he believed the same so we weaved in and out through four aisles, definitely following us. Feeling uncomfortable we walked to self checkout, followed us there too and watched us checkout. However, when we needed help with voiding an incorrectly priced item she conveniently turned away. Great. We asked another employee to help us, literally turned away as well. When I said excuse me to him for the fifth time he turned around and said what do you want. Cool. Left my stuff and walked out. Rude employees, incorrectly priced products, and inconvenient service. read more

I always pop into this place when I can't find parking at Walmart or can't find what I wanted anywhere else. Target is relatively organized, although at various times during the day, things can be out of place or confusing after everyone else has been hunting for various items. Last time I was here, I picked up a cheap book shelf and a bathmat for the house, since I couldn't find the right color anywhere else. The staff isn't super friendly, but the experience/service/location isn't horrible. read more

One of my favorite targets around the area. So much so, I come to this location almost EVERY WEEK. Even if I have nothing to do, I aways pop in here if I'm bored or whatever. For the most part they are mostly organized and clean. Everything can be found easily in my opinion and I don't feel overwhelmed. Most of the time I get what I need for a decent price and get out. Also, this target is where I get my prescriptions. They've been really friendly to me there and have been really helpful. read more

I'd give them 2.5 stars based on my last experience there. I came to do shopping for a baby shower and went to the kiosks to print off the registry. Neither of the kiosks worked so I went to the customer service desk and they tried to pull it up on a iPod they had, but couldn't locate the list. I pulled it up on my phone to let them know that the registry did exist and they told me to just use my phone and the cashier could use that to make sure it's marked off their registry. Well it was pretty annoying to use my phone to try and find the items, especially because it didn't give aisle numbers or anything like that. When I tried to check out, the cashier had no idea how to use my phone to mark my purchases off the registry so she called for help. The lady came over and took down the info and came back a few minutes later and need more info. Finally 10 minutes later she came back and they finally got it figured out. It was just a long and annoying trip to Target. I'm not sure why they couldn't figure out how to just print off the darn registry in the first place, but it made me not want to do baby shower shopping there anymore. read more

Very disappointed: I was completely stunned to find out that Target will not accept a photo (taken on my Android) of an original receipt in order to process a return. In the past 24 hours, I've returned items (using a photo of the receipt) to both Walmart & Kohls. This is my modus operandi nowadays so that I don't have to save paper copies of receipts. Target, it's time to 'get with the times' & accept information from phones. In addition, I asked if I could go home, print out a copy of said receipt & bring it in. The cashier in returns said that would not be acceptable either; only the original receipt will be accepted. read more

I've been to my fair share of Targets and this is one I tend to go out of my way to get to. The staff are friendly and helpful and things are typically cleaner and stocked more fully than other Targets. The lines are well managed and if they get too long, the staff accommodates to help move people through more quickly. There is a girl named Ava who has checked my items out a few times recently and she has been especially helpful and kind. I have your boys and she always talks to them and offers them stickers. She talks positively about her job and engages with each customer kindly. I seek out her line when I go because I know she will be kind and quick. read more

It's a Target! What is expected? Not much. But, I do have to say that the men's restrooms were the cleanest public restrooms I have ever seen. Especially for a Target, this blew me away. Obviously enough that I had to mention it in a Yelp review. I'm still in shock. Everything else is as expected of a Target, and the gentleman that was working in the electronics department was very helpful. read more

This is a very typical Target -- not much better or worse than any other store in the chain. The parking at the Target end of this strip mall is pretty bad in terms of getting in and out, but if you know that in advance, you can park elsewhere and walk. I was so happy to see that Target added groceries to the inventory! But, the first time I shopped for food, I was totally disgusted by the spoiled meat in the case. I had to leave without buying anything. A year later, I was in a huge hurry, and needed food, so I tried again. Same spoiled meat! There were GREEN hotdogs! I told the employee that was re-stocking the case, and she said it didn't surprise her as the employees that work overnight to re-stock don't know spoiled from good. As I said, I was in a hurry, so I bought a few things. Tonight, I went to serve some bread I had bought and the was a huge WORM in the bag with the bread. Never again, Target. NEVER. read more

Worst Target ever. I have actually complained to management about the terrible lines at this Target.. you can NOT go there in a weekend or holidays without HUGE lines. There is always a "reason" why. Maybe BYU's and and I were just out and needed to go and I said, "I don't know I hate this Target". When we went in there were 2 lanes open on a SATURDAY... and the self checkout was all the way down to the pharmacy. We turned around and walked right out. I can do that at Walmart and it's cheaper.. no thanks. read more

This is an excellent store. They have everything I need at a great price! Need some fruit? Go to the fresh foods section. Need a blender? Go to appliances section. Need some undershirts? Go to the Clothing isle. This target has everything you need at prices that compare to the next door Walmart. Pros- -Very good prices! Awesome prices! -Usually not crowded, unlike the next door Walmart -Helpful employees and quick checkout -Anything and Everything. Need anything? You'll find it at the Target -Produce section has a pretty good selection, Cons- -In store restaurant isn't the best smelling -Kind of messy inside -Security guard is pretty strict I highly suggest you go on a shopping trip to this Target. You won't be let down. read more

Very clean and organized.. I go there for the pharmacy mostly and the pharmacy staff has been the most kindest I have ever dealt with. With Target being the 2nd largest "big box" discount retailer, what makes this Target stand out? For consistently being 3 of my favorite things: bright, clean and organized. This isn't an easy feat since it is a heavily trafficked location, i.e. Fair Lakes central. As for Target being a discount retailer... it's one that you MUST comparison price shop at, which in my opinion, defeats the purpose. Nevertheless, it's not impossible to find a good deal. This is also a "Super" Target - one filled with groceries from produce and frozen meals to snacks and juice. Basically a condensed version of a grocery store. I don't usually get groceries here, but on my last visit I took a better look around at their offerings. I must say, I was impressed by the selections. There were things that I have yet to even see at my favorite grocer and were reasonably priced. A good example would be their frozen meals selection - good variety, new products and definitely cheaper prices. Score! The checkout process doesn't usually make me want to pull out my hair either. Properly manned registers with efficient cashiers. I can dig it! read more

What an experience! Had a Groupon coupon. Didn't pay much. Got what I paid for. Pictures didn't turn out. you can't wait for the right pose, better to do some rapid fire shots. We didn't like the pictures before we went out to select them. We kept reeling her to do a few at a time b/c gotta catch good smile on child when he is not expecting it. She wouldn't listen. In making selections, only one picture that was tolerable. We told the lady to delete some horrible pictures but she refused! Said it's better to not delete so we had to keep sifting through the garbage to go back to find the needle in the haystack as we decided on frames/layouts. She kept insisting on pictures and layouts we said absolutely not! Not nice to children either. Needless to say, I won't be going back. read more

Bought Hero Laundry Detergent the other day because it says on the label "Every bottle sold supports or nation's veterans" and who doesn't like supporting our veterans, I certainly due! Unfortunately, this laundry detergent damaged some of my clothes so I went back to Target to return it. Of course I tossed my receipt because I didn't think I'd be needing it. Well, here I am at Target trying to return a product that only Target sells and they won't issue a refund, not even a store credit, because I don't have my receipt. Really lousy customer service of you ask me. Guess I'll have to stick with Wal-Mart from now on. read more

I am a new resident to the Fairfax area. Coming from NC, all previous Target shopping experiences have been great. The customer service personnel treats me with respect and I have chosen to go to Target and spend the extra $.50 over Wal-Mart just because I knew I would get excellent service. I wish I could say the same for this Target in Fairfax. Since my first visit, I have received poor customer service from a cashier not speaking a single word to me (I'm sure they at least know "hello" if not anything else) to an "associate manager" who was called to assist me only to walk by and act as if she was too busy to even spare a minute to help. I'm disappointed that Target's customer service has gone downhill. Thank goodness there is another here in Fairfax! read more
