Very pleased with the service.. just remember tho they are an office and not an emergency facility, so if it's an emergency, go to ER. This office is great if u can't get an appointment for ur child an u want to see a Dr without it being an emergency situation. Many people think urgent care is for emergencies but it's just a place to see a Dr if yours can't see u that day.

After less than 5 minutes in the room, he informs me I have some kind of bacteria that I've brought back from Mexico and prescribes me high dose antibiotics. He didn't even ask me what other medications I was taking before prescribing them. I had to do the research on my own to figure out that I could have possible heart failure if I mixed these antibiotics with another medication I take daily. As if this wasn't enough, less than a month after my visit, I get a bill from the office informing me that I owe them for my visit because my insurance has refused to pay it. I immediately called my insurance and they have no record of the claim and say that as soon as they receive an invoice, they will pay it. I hang up with them and call the doctor's office. They tell me that they have billed my insurance 4 different times for the visit....in less than a month?!?! I seriously doubt it. I inform them that my insurance is more than willing to cover the visit but they have never received the invoice. They tell me they will send it again. Now, 3 months later, I get a notice that they have sent me to collections for not paying my bill. I got one notice from them...ONE! And I was in touch with their office immediately after receiving the first and only communication from them. They clearly have my address as they sent me the first notice and God knows I had to write my phone number down enough times to give me carpal tunnel syndrome. They couldn't even call and let me know they still couldn't get through to my insurance?! These people clearly care only for money and nothing for their patients.

She truly took the time to get a thorough history from me, about my complaints and about my health overall and she did a very thorough physical exam on me too. I came in with so many complaints, as I was dealing with a lot and also had not had time to see a doctor for months, and she truly was so patient with me and gave me her time. It is tough finding practitioners these days who actually give you a through visit, and who actually think critically and consider different differentials, since usually they are trying to just get to the next patient. So I was definitely very much in awe of PA Rutledge's patient care skills. We definitely need more providers like her in the medical field. My experience at the clinic was overall great as the staff were all very nice and I was seen in a timely manner upon arrival for my appointment!

If you want horrible service from people who appear to be incompetent and/or have antiquated…read moresystems and processes, are rude, totally uncaring, and inconsistent with their policies, go here. I have been a patient of Citrus Valley Internal Medicine for a little over a year. Dr Bovetas was my doctor and I think he is very good and cares about his patients. HOWEVER, some of the front office staff is absolutely horrible. I have had the same experience with the receptionist being incompetent and rude. My second visit I was 15 minutes late and they refused to see me. I thought OK, I'll give them this one. So, I booked my appointment to be their first patient of the day. They left me waiting for over an hour!!! When I asked them why the wait, the staff informed me that the doctor doesn't get in until about an hour and a half after the first appointment time! Shocked, I needed a local doctor and said, ok, this is two. I booked all my appointments around 10 am and everything ran smooth, with the exception of the rude front receptionist. This last time, I needed to see a doctor. When I called, they gave me an appointment for a week away. The day before my appointment I went to urgent care because I was getting worse. Urgent care was not able to treat me, but did process my insurance card just fine. The following day I got in my car to go to my appointment and my car would not start. I drive a 2021 vehicle and take care of it. This was a shock. I had to scramble and get a ride. I arrived 15 minutes late. I told the receptionist that I'm aware I'm late, but my car would not start, I am sick, have been waiting for 7 days for this appointment and please, please, please see me. She said I was late, and that she had checked my insurance it showed not valid. She said she called me yesterday and texted me. I gave her my new card, then she had a problem with my medicare number and unlike all the other doctors I go to, this office could not pull it up. The receptionist said "we don't do that here". Our conversation continued. The receptionist kept interrupting me, trying to talk over me. Finally told her I don't want to argue, I'll just pay cash. She went off to find someone else. Another woman came out and told me that they'd be happy to make another appointment for me but I could not see the doctor because I was late. This woman was just as non-friendly as the receptionist, with an attitude that was worse. I left. -- I checked my phone and the receptionist did call the day before but I did not have record of a text. -- I called back, saying I wanted to see the doctor ASAP, I'd pay cash, and the person offered me an appointment a week from now. I told him about the problems with the front office. He confirmed the policy for late was 15 minutes. Then he refused to make an appointment for me, without my medicare number, even though I offered to pay cash until this could all be settled, I would have my medicare number by the time of the appointment. He said no. I was transferred to Dr. Bovetas' assistant so I asked if there was a way I could get a confidential message to the doctor, I explained that I wanted to talk to the doc, but felt this was very personal and did not want to share this. His assistant said there was no way to do that. So, Dr Bovetas, guess you'll have to read it here. To the Yelp Audience: If you want horrible service from people who appear to be incompetent and/or have antiquated systems and processes, are rude, totally uncaring, and inconsistent with their policies, go here.

Every single time I've come here, the experience has been the same: long, endless waits and a…read moredoctor who rushes through visits so fast it makes me wonder why I was sitting in the waiting room for hours in the first place. It feels like they have zero respect for their patients' time or concerns. Beyond the waiting 1.5 hours in JUST the waiting room for a follow up, then another 30 minutes in the exam room before the dr comes in, the worst was when I was scheduled for an endoscopy. I checked in on time, expecting maybe a short delay (because things happen in healthcare). Instead, I sat in the main waiting room for over 3 hours. Not pre-op. Not being prepped. Just in a crowded lobby, staring at the walls, with absolutely no communication from staff. After three hours of this, I finally got up and left--completely frustrated and over it. Honestly, I should've walked out sooner. I got rescheduled for the next week, as the very first patient. When you do finally get taken back, the procedure area is no better. They make you power down your phone in front of them and show them that it's turned off. I understand phones might not be allowed during procedures, but here's the issue: after they take your phone, you're left sitting in pre-op for up to 2 more hours with nothing to do but stare at a blank wall. No updates. No reassurance. No communication at all. No sense of time. Just isolation and waiting. It's incredibly inconsiderate, especially for patients who are already anxious. I have a baby at home, and my time is not disposable. I can't afford to waste entire days sitting in waiting rooms and pre-op holding areas with no explanation, no updates, and no respect for the fact that patients have lives, families, and responsibilities. Add to that a doctor who doesn't take symptoms seriously ( and asks over and over about someone that was just asked about 1 minute prior ), and it's a recipe for patients to feel dismissed, unheard, and neglected. Healthcare is already stressful enough--you're usually going in because you don't feel well or because something is wrong. The last thing you should have to deal with is a system that treats you like an afterthought. Every visit here has been hours of wasted time, rushed interactions, and the sense that patients' concerns just don't matter. If you're considering coming here, know what you're signing up for: long waits, minimal communication, and a doctor who seems too busy (or unwilling) to actually listen. I would not recommend this practice to anyone who values their time, their sanity, or being treated with basic decency.

Then she got my email address wrong when I tried to sign up for the patient portal. When I called back I spoke with Gwen, who was super friendly and helpful. She corrected the error right away. I arrived early for my first appointment and was taken in at a decent time but it took a while to actually see Dr. Virk. When I met him, he seemed very knowledgeable and patient with my questions and concerns. He seemed like he actually read through the thick patient intake packet I completed. He was warm and genial. He didn't seem to be in a huge rush to get me out of the door. I was pleased with my experience, and felt that the wait was worth it. When I got my lab work done, I messaged Dr. Virk but never received a response from him, only from his staff stating they had sent the message to him. When I tried to call, I left a callback number after a long wait and was never called back, though the automated message stated I was next in line. I left another message on the patient portal explaining this and my availability in trying to schedule an appointment. I did receive a call and voicemail the following morning. When I called back, I immediately received an answer and was able to schedule a phone visit within a few weeks. My previous doctor's office allowed people to schedule appointments online through their patient portal or via text, which I found helpful. I do wish this was the case with this office. I also wish I could see after visit care instructions and information on the patient portal, as I can be forgetful with verbal instructions and would like to be able to refer back on the specific directions my doctor has given. Overall, I like this office, but having a more modern way of scheduling appointments and accessing my health data would make it 5 stars.
