In came Lisa, who was recommended to us by another dog trainer, and she is worth every penny. After 4 weeks of a board and train program with Lisa, we were left wondering why we did not get our dog trained with her sooner! Not only did Lisa help address the problematic barking, which was our primary goal. She also crate-trained him (necessary for doggos who are doing the board and train), taught him how to be a good loose-leash walker, significantly improved his recall, and how to heel/sit/down in place when asked. We are stoked! We are doing things with him we have never felt confident enough to do before, like take him to cafes (and even some restaurants!). He has been getting compliments for his behaviors left and right. We are so grateful for Lisa's expert training and cannot recommend her enough.

My dog has made excellent progress in just three sessions, and I really couldn't have done it without Lisa's help!

I never asked her a question about anything. She started giving me unsolicited advice that proved to be of zero utility as I already tried it on my own and told her didn't work so I'm adding screen shots of our entire communication. I don't even do things like this but I genuinely believe this lady is troubled and her capacity for recounting a conversation accurately is nonexistent despite having a record of it herself. If I deleted anything from this thread, please Theresa post those screenshots, because I don't have a reason to lie about any of this. You are the one that needs professional help to deal with them demons you're fighting. Where do I start. The owner of this place, I believe her name is Terri is absolutely nuts. I made an account on bark.com a couple months ago after I was gifted a puppy I wasn't ready for due to long work hours. This lady reached out to me with her spiel, I didn't respond because she didn't have enough reviews on their site for me to determine if she was a good fit. Weeks go by and she kept reaching out aggressively until one day I did respond. During this time I was ready to rehome my pup due to my crazy schedule. She was aggressively trying to convince me to just hire her which I was hesitant about because again, my schedule was nuts and her price was great but she was aggressive so that was a red flag. The pup ended up going back to live with his doggy parents and is living happily. Fast forward to now, I got more time to spare and a new pup so I go back onto bark.com, reached out to two trainers that have credentials to back up their work unlike this lady, but I guess the site shares your info with all trainers because here comes crazy lady with the aggression basically upset that she paid to get my contact info only to find out she's reached out to me once before and I'll post here the entire conversation because this conversation was totally childish. On bark.com one of her reviews is literally someone who didn't even work with her complaining how aggressive their correspondence was with her. This lady is absolutely unhinged. I don't understand how she has good reviews on google but they are from years ago which makes me believe once upon a time, she was a decent person. Today, she is a maniac, desperate for someone to give her a few dollars and their dog. Side note: the photo I sent her is a photo of herself she sent me unsolicited. And for the record, I am not a republican lol.

We came to Terri with a jumpy, anxious, nipping German Shepherd- Staffordshire Terrier 16 week old puppy, who we loved greatly, but were beginning to despair over. He didn't like to go for walks, was easily distracted and definitely couldn't heel. Sometimes he'd sit (for his dinner) but mostly, he terrorized us with cuteness and jumping. As he started to get bigger, it stopped being as cute, and after a dinner guest tore his jeans, we knew it was time to start dog-training. I did a lot of research, and DTCLA was the best choice for us for flexibility, convenience, reviews and price. It was a home-run. Terri came to our home, and trained with me and my daughter so we built obedience with our dog and family directly (some trainers, take your dog away and train them). She had a lovely, warm approach and was so kind and friendly. Every session, she came with new commands and after all our sessions were done (just this week) we have a confident, obedient, happy dog who can, heel, leave it, stay, come, weave, back up, turn, shake, touch and so much more. We are so thrilled with the process and results.

I started to do an internet search, and found Victoria (WalkitdownFrederick). She came to my home and we talked for a while, saw how she interacted my animals, all strangers to her, and how they reacted to her. Almost the first thing Victoria did was pick up the ferret, most people are afraid of them, but Victoria went right to the ferret playpen. THe only issue was one of my cat's has never made friends with anyone, and even after 7 years is usually invisible; I don't think Victoria ever saw her. Anyway, I digress. I made arrangements to get Victoria keys to my home, and an agreement the she would come in twice a day for the week I was gone; mostly so the ferret could get some play time, out of her crate. I was pleased with the care given to my animals during my week out of town, and have all intentions of calling on Victoria again. Some time later, I needed to take all 4 of my cats to a rabies clinic, to save some money, and Victoria came to the rescue, volunteering to help me catch the 4 furry ones, and go with me to the rabies clinic. All in all, if I ever need to go out of town again, there is no question in my mind that I would call on Victoria, and WalkitDownFrederick! Mike Sodos

With my wife nearly six months pregnant, I needed these dogs 1000% ready to protect our expanding family. I invested heavily in this business in good faith, paying over $17,000 upfront within a 2-to-3-week window. The owner initially honored a 45-day grace period for the next installment due to our upcoming child. However, despite holding my dogs for months, the business completely failed to deliver on the contract, leaving Gus with zero training progress and severe, unaddressed toy aggression. The lack of training is only overshadowed by a shocking incident of gross negligence. While my dogs were in his care, the owner was arrested by law enforcement for a criminal property damage incident (popping tires). I am not writing this to pass judgment on his arrest--given my own life experiences, I understand firsthand that things happen, and people go through difficult situations. Because of that understanding, I put everything aside out of genuine empathy and loyalty. I had literally sent him another $5,000 Zelle payment that exact morning to continue on with my dogs. When he called me from the scene, I rushed over within 10 minutes to secure my dogs, manage his mobile van, care for his other clients' dogs, and move his commercial vehicle to save him from a police tow. Upon bonding out, the owner called my wife, expressed his appreciation, and explicitly promised to reimburse us for the emergency veterinary costs caused by his facility's conditions. When I pulled Gus from the scene, he was in a life-threatening state. He was rushed to an emergency vet with a 104-degree fever, severe lip ulcers, and acute respiratory distress. He was officially diagnosed with severe aspiration pneumonia and remains on heavy antibiotics.Following his release, the owner came to my home and verbally agreed to return a fraction of my funds--specifically $2,929--to help cover our immediate rent and medical bills, telling me to "just remind him." I even offered to return this temporary $2,929 buffer later once his business stabilized. However, when I texted him a screenshot of the bill reflecting that exact amount of $2,929 as a reminder, his demeanor flipped. He refused to put anything in writing, deflected by bringing up an irrelevant "training academy" structure, and flatly refused to assist us.Instead of honoring his word, he chose to completely freeze us out and avoid accountability. Blaming a client or ignoring them after they saved your entire livelihood while you were detained--and after leaving their animal with life-threatening medical conditions--is entirely unacceptable.I have ironclad Zelle receipts for the $17,000+ paid, certified veterinary diagnoses and vet bills.
