Due to the reviews from some of you, we decided to stop at this place for Indian food. We were very impressed. Definitely just as good as Toronto. Very nice and spicy. Highly recommend this Indian Restaurant.

Butter chicken

Great location over looking the lake. The restaurant had a nice decor and ambience. We were seated right away and given menus. At initial glance, I noticed that their prices for their main dishes were very expensive!! My friend and I ordered the butter chicken ($18), rice (4.90 x 2) and paratha ( $2-3). As we were waiting for our meal we noticed that they microwaved our rice before serving it to us, anything microwaved is not a good sign in my books! The food came and I was shocked at the size of the butter chicken for 18.00. I thought I was going to have leftover but nope!!! Good enough for two people. I've tasted better butter chicken. The rice was nothing special, the paratha also, nothing special! This place was a money grab but the view was nice. Service was pretty slow and the restaurant had only 3 tables to serve and that's including my table.

This dish cost 27.99 plus tax!!!!

So, we were up in Barrie for an excellent Historical Fencing seminar weekend (which was awesome,…read morethanks for asking!) and we wanted Indian. We were in Barrie for three days, and if we had gone here the first night, we would have eaten here all weekend. We did eat dinner here twice (the second night put us an hour behind our schedule getting home to Gowanda, NY. Worth it!) The food was awesome! All of it just hit. The chicken biryani I ordered extra spicy and they obliged! It was *so* good! The paneer pakora was fluffy and delicious, the chili chicken a perfect Indo-Chinese blend. Everything I had I cannot recommend enough. My one friend got the dosa (looked so delicious) and the samosas. She loved them! My other got the chicken tandoori and the chicken momos. To quote him directly, the momos were "the best dumplings I've ever had!" If I had to levy any criticism at all, the Seekh kebabs, though delicious, were sweeter than I'm used to. And the other, bigger complaint is I live so far away that I can't make this a regular place. Which jaggy really criticism at all, haha P.S. Get the Indian Iced Coffee!

Every bit as good as Tara, of course with a personal touch. The service was great. The place itself is nothing to speak of but clean! Ye, tthe food was that good.

And I love Indian food, so if course there was little reason to not try them. The service was a little scattered, but that's okay, it late on a Friday night. It took a little longer than I would have liked, but again I was very hungry and it was late. The food. Okay, I had the chicken Seekh kebabs. They were alright, but much sweeter than I am used to. It was kind of a surprise, and not an entirely welcome one. I also had chili paneer, because I'm a sucker for a good fusion dish. The paneer was great, but I ordered it extra spicy and it was really not. At all. It wasn't even medium. Kind of sweet, and rather passive on the heat. The biryani rice wasn't bad. But it wasn't great either. Overall it was a mid experience. I would have rated them a little higher, but the price was a bit heftier then the food that was provided. I didn't hate it, I'm glad they were open, but I won't exactly be back next time I'm in Barrie

One of the few Indian restaurants that are not closed by 9:00 pm here in Barrie…read more It's located very close to the exit 96-A of Highway 400 N. The restaurant has a pretty large seating space to avoid unintentional eavesdropping. There's adequate lighting that doesn't force the patrons to guess what is it that they are eating. Our server, forgot his name, was very welcoming and made some interesting recommendations as well. When it comes to the food, at least on the menu there are a lot of options, vegetarian and non-vegetarian, to choose from. We tried the Chicken Tikka for starters and absolutely loved it. For the mains, we ordered the Butter Chicken but felt the curry was a tad too sweet to our liking. I did feel that they were understaffed for the night and with the surge in patrons our server was overwhelmed and forgot to provide serving spoons. That being said, I am definitely gonna revisit this place to try some of the other options they offer on the menu.
