Sad to see the vegetarian Chimi is gone. Ordered the horchata and burrito this time. I forgot the burrito doesn't come with side of rice and beans covered in cheese. Omg what a find off the Highway (95). I truly wish this place was near my house! Authentic Mexican family business with fresh, low priced, high quality food. I got three tacos, 2 shredded chicken and 1 steak. You get to choose if you want your double shells to be corn or flour, I chose corn. Very fresh. Shredded chicken had a lot of flavor. You can also choose Mexican style (onion, cilantro, radish, lime) or American style (pico de Gallo, lettuce, and cheese). It doesn't say cheese on the menu so beware if you're lactose! They remade mine without complaint. My bf loved his steak quesadilla - good flavor. Chips are amazing, fresh and thick- don't skip these. Small guac came with pico and cheese and was a huge portion. We mixed in some of the fresh salsa they gave us (green spicy and red mild). There was plenty of street parking nearby, and picnic tables to eat outside (and inside but since COVID we don't like doing that). We called 10 min ahead and it was ready when we arrived. There's no website so we suggest going off the menus posted here. If they don't answer, call back! Their line might just be busy. There's also a cheap gas station nearby and is generally a cute street in the middle of nowhere. We're marking this spot and hope to be back on the next road trip!! read more

Really good Mexican food in Ridgeland. My wife had the chicken fajitas, which she said were very good. I tried to get tripe & lengua tacos, but they were out of lengua, so our waitress suggested the beef cheeks. Tacos were served with cilantro, radish slices, and two varieties of onion - diced and pickled. Along with the meat, the vegetables made for a great texture contrast, and having the flavor of radishes instead of lettuce was excellent. A bit of a drive, but we'll worth it! read more

This was a stop during my sons state baseball tournament. The place was clean. The waitress that initially greeted us was very nice. We ordered several dishes including the steak quesadilla that my wife had. She said that it was one of the best ones she ever had. I had the green enchiladas with beef tongue tacos. This did not disappoint. The price was fair and the portions were plenty. Even the Pepsi cola was a real sugar Mexican import that was in a thick glass bottle. The complimentary tortilla chips were hand cut and fried fresh to order and served with chilled salsa. As Californians, we had to try Mexican food out of state. Yes, we are the type to have it to compare to our superior fare. But this was really good, the meat was fresh and flavorful. I had steak tacos, super tasty. My husband had the steak chimichunga, it had amazing gooey cheese and not stuffed with rice and beans (a filler to cut down on the meat you're served). But the important thing (how you know its good Mexican food) is the rice. Beans were great too. I love this local Mexican restaurant in Ridgeland, SC! I usually get the shrimp and rice with bell peppers and onions added. It comes with that wonderful gooey white cheese on top. It's so good. Everything I have tried there is good though. Highlights for me are their Cuban sandwich, their fresh chips made daily with fresh salsa, the cheese dip, beef chimichangas, shrimp quesadillas, the David Especial, and once again the Shrimp and rice! This is our second time to this family run restaurant. It's in the middle of quaint main st. If you are on 95 and need a place to stop where the locals dine. This is your place. Outside dining only or pick up right now but it is totally worth their delicious authentic Mexican food. We came here one evening to grab a quick meal. I hadn't eaten Mexican in a while, so I decided to give this place a try. We ordered the tacos and a chicken burrito. There were complimentary chips and salsa at each of the dining tables. After about ten minutes, our food arrived to the table. My burrito was tasty and the portions were quite substantial, leaving us feeling full but not too heavy. My only gripe about my burrito was the cheese--it tasted exactly like a slice of Kraft cheese. The bathroom was decently clean, though it doesn't have great ventilation (definitely feels stuffy in there). There is plenty of indoor seating at this venue and the servers are polite and helpful. There's parking at the front and some additional parking at the side of the building. For $14 for two people, this place is great to grab a cheap meal. This isn't my favorite Mexican place, but I wouldn't mind coming back if I'm in the area. read more

What a dive! This place was everything you want out of a restaurant and more. Located in a small town in SC, my husband and I stopped by for dinner on our road trip back home. Service: our server was a young girl who was absolutely perfect at her job. She was attentive, knew the menu well, and assisted us promptly. Atmosphere: this restaurant is a hole-in-the-wall type of place and has a hometown feel to it. It's not the best I've ever been to, in terms of appearance, by no means the worst. Food: the ONLY complaint I have about the food is the queso. While tasty, it was not as thick as I prefer my queso. Otherwise, portions where sufficient and price was comparable to any chain Mexican restaurant. The fajitas came with a ton of meat and veggies, as did the chicken taco salad. A couple miles off 95 driving through SC. SO GLAD we found it!! This was literally the best food I've ever had. I have never felt so satisfied and happy after eating a meal. The chips are completely homemade as is the salsa and WOW. 10/10. I got shrimp tacos with homemade corn tortillas, Mexican style and yes, best tacos I've ever had. Husband got shredded beef chimichanga and it was the best one he's ever had. And that's what he orders at every Mexican restaurant ever. I can't say enough good things. There is no dine in, but there was outdoor seating. My wife went in and ordered the food and they brought it out. I had a torta that was divine. My wife had a combo that was delicious.
