    Carne asada fries

We were on our way to a concert at the Toyota Amphitheater in Wheatland and wanted to stop somewhere for dinner. Mexican sounded good and this place had solid reviews--they were spot on! It was around 6pm and over 100° outside, so we were thrilled to see they had a water mister outside to walk through plus some indoor seating in addition to their patio seating. You order at the counter then go find a table. There's a bathroom inside despite being a hole-in-the-wall place that seems like it may not have one. Prices are super affordable here! Around $30 for two people and lots of food plus a beer. I got the quesabirria tacos which were delicious! The meat and broth were so flavorful. Good amount of cheese and had enough toppings to make it feel complete but not overly stuffed. My husband got the California burrito, he thought it was really good! The carne asada was very tender and the burrito was assembled well, it never fell open despite how much was packed inside. They also have homemade red and green salsas, both were amazing. We split the carne asada fries and they were some of the best I've ever had! They had all the best toppings and the fries were thick enough to not fall apart underneath it all. Our friends got a few different types of tacos, their favorite was the fish taco! Everyone was very pleased and full after this meal, we got enough to not be hungry again the rest of the night. This is a family-owned small business and you can tell they know how to operate a successful restaurant. I'll remember this place next time we are in the area for another concert!

    FIESTA French fries with carne

Went in on a Tuesday around 3;30pm. Ordered to go: fiesta fries, 8oz guacamole and a large Jamaica with no ice. Our order taker was super friendly and made ordering easy. Our order was quick. The carne asada in the fries was very flavorful and there was a lot. The fries were nicely cooked. The guacamole had great flavor but looked a little "watered down". The restaurant itself was clean. There was some construction happening in the parking lot behind the building but it wasn't too busy so was not a problem. The Jamaica was also good!!! So glad things are still good here as it was the last time we visited. Been coming here since before the remodel and it's good to see that the items we habitually order are still great!!

Torta with Al Pastor and caramelized onions

Was told about this place by the locals and we happen to be stopping by the post office to grab our mail in Olivehurst and it's literally right across the street. I ordered it online just thought it'd be easier to pick up because we had our dog with us. Hubby got three chicken enchiladas with extra meat double rice no beans. I got the Al Pastor Torta with caramelized onions. I got a half order of their fiesta fries with half chicken half birria and a large Horchata drink. The food took about 25 minutes to come out because they're pretty busy. They're local mom and pop shop that's been open since 1998. They have a pretty decent selection for their food and just so many things to choose from. I love that they have a vegan menu as well. We didn't get to dine here but it's a little cute place with a little parking spot in the back will be back again to definitely dine in. My torta was so delicious and the Al Pastor was just divine the caramelized onions just gave it that extra pop. The Horchata drink was delicious I highly recommend it very cinnamony. Hubby devoured all of his food with the green salsa that they gave him. I was a little sad about my fiesta fries cause I got a little soggy, but then I had to travel with it for a little bit so maybe next time get it there versus takeout. But the birria meat was so delicious and flavourful (which is what they're known for). I would love to come back and try the jackfruit taco. We will come back again.

This place never disappoints, we randomly found this spot and it has become our go to anytime we crave Mexican food. The portions are great, the price is reasonable, the food is delicious, the staff is prompt and quick with service. The space was recently upgraded and it looks very clean every time we visit. They offer DoorDash and you can place Togo orders.

Chicken Quesadilla is very small, even asked for extra meat. The shredded chicken was decent. I would recommend getting the California burrito instead.

The food was good; I had the Cinco fries with all the toppings. However, we had to wait 15 minutes before our food was ready. We asked if our order was ready, and although the server initially said no, she looked around and then asked for our name. It turned out our food was already sitting there. I forgot to take a good photo of the fries, but I do have a picture of them half-eaten.

The food is fresh, flavorful, and made with pride, just like true homemade Mexican cuisine should be. I grew up eating authentic Mexican food, and this place definitely brings those real flavors back. The customer service is excellent, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming with a great attitude. The location may look small on the outside near Highway 70, but the food and atmosphere make it worth the stop. Overall, great food, great people, and a great experience. I ordered a carnitas burrito. My kids got crispy carne asada tacos, and our friends opted for the cheeseburger and fries. We ordered it to go. While we waited we took advantage of the small, but mighty, salsa bar. The chips were delightfully warm, and I opted for the mild chunky salsa. The moment I sampled the salsa my excitement grew with anticipation of what we ordered! The salsa was probably the best I have ever had! Just the right mixture of cilantro, onions, and excellent seasonings. I made sure to gather myself a couple salsas to go! We only waited about 10 minutes for our food, and the cook actually brought our hot food out! Oh, the customer service was wonderful! We made it home, and it was a bitter fight as to who got to grab their order first! I won! I fixed my plate, and just by looking at my burrito I knew I was in for a treat! I cut it in half since the burritos are mega! I took my first bite, and instantly felt like I was at a party! I'm talking so darn good! My kids tacos were supreme, and soon after finishing their tacos they were eyeing my other half of burrito! I happily gave it up and I saw the delight shine forcefully as they tasted it! My friends cheeseburgers looked great! And the consensus was that they tasted excellent, too! Everyone loved their food! This is my go to spot! Oh, did I mention that every weekend they grill their own meats out front! You will want to try this place! You won't be disappointed!

Worst, most inedible carnitas (?) ever! They were so dry/desiccated/old that at first I thought someone had left a piece of bone in it. I spit out what I thought was a bone, and took another bite...I got a mouthful of hard, old, crunchy (not in a good way) pork. The burrito was huge and looked great, but in the trash it went. The Enchilada Taco hit the spot--tender tortilla, nicely seasoned filling, and a generous blanket of sauce and cheese. Rice and beans were classic and comforting. The Menudo was the standout: rich broth with plenty of hominy, clean-tasting tripe, and that satisfying depth that really opens up with a squeeze of lime and a pinch of oregano. I'd personally prefer a touch more heat or salt, but the flavor was there. Service was warm and genuine, even during the dinner rush. Chips and salsa landed quickly, drinks stayed topped off, and our server checked in without hovering. The only ding--and why it's four stars instead of five--was timing: entrées took a bit longer than expected, and the music was a tad loud for conversation at peak hour. Prices felt fair for the portions. I finished with fried ice cream that arrived crisp and golden outside, cold and creamy inside, with just enough drizzle to keep it fun without being cloying. Overall, a solid local spot I'll happily revisit during non-peak hours.
