Great Food, Even Better Company…read more We met up with my wife's son and daughter-in-law for a casual Thursday afternoon lunch. Since she's expecting and had a craving for Mexican food, they picked this spot based on past experiences. We arrived around 2:30 PM, and the place wasn't busy--parking was easy, and we were seated right away. One quick note: the actual name of the restaurant is Casa Los Dos Amigos, not Casamigos as it's listed on Yelp. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall near the intersection of Chemawa Road and River Road, just a couple of miles from the I-5 Chemawa Road exit in Keizer, OR. The staff was friendly and efficient. We were quickly offered drinks, menus, and complimentary chips and salsa--plus a nice touch: a small plate of refried beans. They also let us know the lunch menu ends at 3 PM. The interior is festively decorated with a colorful Mexican theme, and the menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of classic dishes. While catching up and browsing the menu, I went with the chile verde enchiladas, my wife ordered a fajita combo, and they chose a burrito and enchiladas. Our meals arrived promptly and looked fantastic. Everything tasted great, but what really made the experience special was the time spent together. Good food, great service, and even better company--what more could you ask for?

We tried different meats, but the Carne Asada was definitely their best! It's good quality steak and it's grilled. They also put guacamole on the tacos, which is really tasty and they have some really good variety of salsas at their salsa bar. I'm not sure about any of the other food, since I only wanted to stick to the tacos since they were so good! Went there three days consecutive, while I was working at Oregon State Fair. I'll go back every time I make it out to Salem!

Good variety. Hubby got trio (three meats) and substituted beans for potatoes. It was good and filling. I got bacon breakfast burrito and Jamaica to wash it down. Food and beverage was quite tasty. My goodness gracious this place is SO GOOD. We love their tacos and burritos but haven't tried much…read moreelse since it's hard to try something new when you know what's already good! The service is friendly and there's a salsa bar with a bunch of goodies! They recently updated the seats which is great because they needed some love, but kinda sad because my husband and I always like to sit in one of the booths that was slumped down, for funsies hahah There's a bathroom for the necessary pre-taco hand washing but I find the soap's scent to linger on the hands no matter how long I rinse for. It's not an unpleasant scent, but I will smell it every time I bring a taco to my mouth which is unfortunate because I just wanna smell taco. Anyway their tacos are always consistently good and the flavor is *muah* The wet burrito (I get lengua and asada) is ginormous and every single bit is perfect- the sauce on top, the chewy, doughy tortilla (in the best way), and it is very generously fullll of meat. I can eat but can't ever finish one! What really amazes us was how well it reheats the next day, or even 2 days later if you somehow forget about it. It's pretty much as good as fresh but somehow better because you know you only have so little left! You'd think the sauce would cause the tortilla to get soggy sog, but it somehow holds up so well!

I went looking for hot dogs and found an awesome little Mexican joint with the best sopes, period…read more Pros: The sopes. I don't know whether they consider their sopes a specialty of theirs, but I was impressed. I had pork and my wife had chicken. We both had black beans on our sopes - an excellent decision. The sopes came drizzled with an avocado salsa. I am not a fan of avocado, but I loved this salsa. 'Nuff said. They also offered tomatillo and peanut salsas. (Consider yourself warned if you have a serious peanut allergy.) I enjoyed both. The peanut salsa was thinner than most Thai peanut sauces and of course the flavor was Mexican, not Thai. My sope didn't need the peanut salsa, but you have to try it anyway. By the way, there are other items on the menu besides sopes. I had an asada taco heaped with meat. (Winner.) They also have their so-called "secret" menu on bright video screens and do burritos that can also be served as bowls. I saw chilaquiles on the menu board as well. In other words, it's not really about the sopes. But those were pretty dang good. Cons: The plastic cutlery. The forks were wimpy. That's it for the cons that I found. But it is a con when trying to eat a sope with a fork and knife. Trust me. Notes: By "joint", I mean a place where you order and pay at the counter and bus your own table. Don't expect fancy. Our food was not truly mild, but my wife (who sadly can't do the heat anymore) was able to tolerate the spice level. Recommendation: If you haven't figured out yet that you need to try this place (unless you have a hard-core peanut allergy, of course), there is no hope for you. Lol.
