They did email the invoice which had it written on it but I did not look at my invoice because took the persons word for it. Nonetheless I went to return the toilet, the box wasn't even opened and I had to settle for an instore credit so I was forced to buy a vanity from them. They sold me a vanity with a marble top because they said the Quartz would be in back order until the New Year. They assured me that all their marble was pretreated and wouldn't scratch. I live 1hr from their nearest store. The shippment arrived a day late. When I picked it up, drove home and opened the box to install several days later there was a stone chip but returning it meant I had to wait another week to get a new one plus driving all the way to the store so I decided to keep it. Resting anything at all on the counter scratches it so it was never treated. The bathroom is newly renovated and unused yet my counter has several scratches all over it. I don't like dishonesty. The countertop is crap and now I am stuck with it because it's installed. I haven't even called the store yet because it to complain because if they wouldn't refund me for a toilet where the box wasn't even opened I doubt they will do anything for me with this. I will never recommend anyone use this company. I am tempted to do a news report on my experience since I work in the media.

One of the kitchen faucets was leaking and we headed to Home Depot where they said why not go to Moen which just a few minutes of drive from that location for free parts. We didn't even think about that option and also had assumed that it would take days and weeks to call them, provide proof and then shipping the parts. We were wrong! Because it is close by for us, we went on a weekday and showed them the picture of the faucet and they gave us all the parts that we thought and plus extra which the staff recommended we change. That did not work and the staff replaced the entire kitchen faucet set for us! The staff is amazing and their stuff well built. No wonder they say "Built for Life". Although our faucet did not meet that criteria, but they provided parts and were amazing with us. Always buying Moen in future!

A week ago, a small diverter part in my shower spout broke and since it's Moen with lifetime…read morewarranty, I reached to the company to ask for help. They refused to send me only the part needed, even though I gave them the exact part number and sent me a whole new replacement spout, but this time made entirely out of plastic. I didn't want to replace my nice brushed nickel spout with plastic, so I had to go online, find the part from a plumbing supplier and pay for it myself. During our communication, I was also sent as a courtesy a discount coupon and since I've been thinking for a while to add a handheld shower to my existing set, I chose one that matches the rest of my shower and even though it was quite pricey just for the handheld extension /it was listed on their site as 380$ and even with the discount I paid 100$/, I bought it. Unfortunately, my excitement of the new purchase lasted only until I received my package today. The design is quite nice, but again the entire set is made out of plastic, even the articulated hose. 380$ for a plastic shower extension? Seriously? I'm sure they'll present the argument that non-metallic products do not rust and corrode and help prevent heat transfer. Unfortunately, they are also very short lived. You can't clean them with any household cleaners because their finish gets damaged, which mean that soon I won't be able to clean the mineral deposits left from the water, they scratch and wear off easily and the threading give up in a year or two. I have plastic plumbing parts and I know how bad the quality is and not because they are not made well, but because that's the nature of the material. The only benefit in this case is for Moen, who spend less to produce them, while getting the higher returns, because people still rely on their good reputation. It's a shame Moen. You did have a good name.

The TJ Maxx line of stores have always fascinated me…read more The three brands - WInners, Homesense and Marshall's - have made their trade in being a glorified clearance store for many low and mid-range brands, and this location in Clarkson is no exception. I'd argue that it's the perfect fit for the Clarkson community, as it accurately sums the sleepy, docile nature of the community. I ended up coming here to kill a few hours and get in on some late Boxing Day shopping after the New Year, and was extremely surprised to find that half the store was on clearance. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that a good 40-50% of the goods on sale were either marked with tags or set up on "Clearance" endcaps, which was extremely amusing considering there was SO MUCH of it still on display. $2 packs of PUR gum, dirt-cheap Christmas and designer decorations, all sorts of weird food items for pennies on the dollar... makes the mind boggle with how much product is back there that they struggle to sell it all even with 80-90% discounts. One thing I'll definitely give the store credit for is that it's generally very quiet, the service is prompt, and you're generally bound to find something you want, whether it's a weird knick-knack or a book that interests you. In the end, we ended up buying a bunch of themed Christmas foods (including peppermint bark coffee liqueur and chocolate candy-cane shaped shortbread cookies), along with some odds and ends. I find I like visiting here every time in the area. Despite it's similar layout and product offerings as Winners (take out the men's/women's fashion and you have Homesense), the service and selection put it a cut above. Definitely a worthwhile anchor store in Clarkson Village Plaza.

Had some time to kill before a showing, so I stopped off at this tucked away Homesense in Clarkson…read moreVillage, re: home of the old White, sometimes rich, people! Size-wise, this Homesense was not as impressive as the ones that I've been to at Bathurst/Centre (Thornhill) or even Vaughan Mills. It's on the smaller size, HOWEVER, the benefit is that it's waaay quieter than those other locations. Actually, it's probably even quieter than any Winners that I've been to! The location definitely has a part to play in that "been transported back in time" feeling. There's no sense of urgency or rush, just relaxation. I had a question about what was included in a package of bedding - it wasn't stated on the label - and the sales associate, who was doing something else at the time, actually went to another associate to find out for me. Who does that nowadays? If I were in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to stop here 'cause I don't like shopping in crowded places.
