We had much fun at this place. We'd been moving all day with friends, it was bloody hot (38 degrees Celcius in Holland is HOT!) and we were completely knackered. I remembered this place from earlier days, always loved to go there when I still lived in Houten.
It's a typical Dutch restaurant/cafe, everything is brown, cozy and casual. The bartenders and staff where very kind and hilariously funny. Our meals were very nice as well, especially their fries are very good!
Me and my sweet - again - went for a green curry, which was on the menu. Previous experience has taught me: when it's not a Thai or Indian restaurant, don't order curry, it's not their specialty! But of course. We did anyway. Pure curiosity. And hungry tummies.
And as expected, the curry was good, but not very.. curry like. More like vegetables boiled in a coconut-based sauce with some herbs. But it was tasty nonetheless. Our friends enjoyed their fare as well. I believe they had the tacos and the saté. It was the crown on a very busy day, and the kind ladies of Tapperij de Zwijger made us feel very welcome! read more
