Yelp Review 2025 #177:…read more I was going to a more popular cafe a minute away from Casa Cave but they don't open til 11am so, I was going to pre-game here. There was a line with 5 people ahead of me but since I was dining solo, I got to skip the line and the doorman let me go in and hands me a card to take to the cashier. But not knowing Portuguese and them not knowing English, it was confusing. I got a table but it hasn't been cleaned yet but I sat my bag down while looking at the food display. I went up to the counter with the older lady cashiers and placed my order and paid. What I ordered were readily available and don't require cooking but I only received one item. So, I pulled out Google Translate to let them know I was missing parts of my order and only received one item. A few minutes later, I got everything I ordered. And you know when people are talking about you in a different language? That was the vibe I got here. Pastel de Nata: They got an award for their pastel de nata so, my expectations were pretty high. It was ok. They could've warmed it up before serving and offered sugar and cinnamon but nope. I've had better. 3/5 Passionfruit Juice: It tasted fresh. A nice balance of tart and sweet. 4/5 Bolinho de Bacalhau: Fried cod fritter. Tasty, crunchy on the outside. 3.5/5 Coxinha: I love this stuff. It's one of my favorite Brazilian food. Like a fried croquette shaped like a teardrop filled with chicken and cream cheese. 4/5 There's a review site that claims this place is cash only - not true. But I got cash with me when I went here.

Excellent snacks and wonderful sweets. The mate jar of the house is very well served! The price is fair for the mix of flavor and tradition.

Sweets heaven! I wish I discovered this place sooner than later. Ironically, we stumbled into this…read moretreasure in our last day in Rio. So sad. Anyway, took advantage and ordered samples of cookies and brownies. The coconut brownie was heaven in my mouth. The basic brownie was oh so good. Let the honey sample the cookies and he liked them. I think we got the macadamia Choco chip and oatmeal. He said it was good but kept getting sweeter with every bite. No worries, nothing a cafe con leiche (coffee with milk) can't fix and of course a bottle of water. The presentation is so pretty and the place itself was so colorful yet cozy. The display was set in such a way that it is not overwhelming but you want everything. The place is small but there is always people in and out. Eat your sweets, drink your coffee and off your merry way you go. Parking, can be difficult, which can be the norm in Copa. We walked here anyways, so we did not have that issue. The service is good. I just really adore this cute "tea" place. Like everything in Rio, this place has a place in my heart.
