And it is also playing with the meaning spisebar/spiselig, which is edible. The concept is straightforward, but it is also very narrow. They got two main dishes and a dessert for the week. One main with and one with out meat. For starters they got a lot of different charcuteri and cheeses. You can combine all the dishes as you like. The beaten track is 1-2 starters, a main, and dessert. You could also go the tapas way with a lot of starters and maybe a dessert. We were two, we went for four starters, a main, and we had to skip dessert, because we were full. Beverages are also very few, but selected with much care. 2-6 different aperitif, sour cocktails, bubbles, white wines, red wines, avecs, direstives, tap beer, bottled beer, and some soft drinks. They do all sorts of coffee. We tried comte cheese, chorizo sausage, duck rillette, and some beef for starters. All served with very nice light sourdow bread and different yummi toppings. Appel jam for the cheese, fennel mayo for the sausage, mustard for duck, and mayo with roasted nuts for the beef. Everything was a special and out of the ordernary. Next time we will do the tapas thing. We got hot dogs for the main dish. They were done with a delightful twist. Smoked tomato ketchup, a very good sausage, pickled Jerusalem artichokes, and mustard on a brioche. Wauv, it was good. You are seated at old school tables. They easy have room for two, but the also seat four a those tables. It is to much. Tables are also very close to each other. The also have very long table for bigger parties, or guests with out reservation. They play loud but good music, and around nine a DJ starts the party. The restaurant turns into a bar. The service was polite and very helpful. Maybe they are a bit understaffed, because waiting could be a bit long. They are nearly forgiven, because of the prices under normal for Copenhagen. The bathrooms are small, and they needed a bit cleaning. I have to deduct a star from the perfect five, because of waiting time, sitting very close, and the bathrooms.

We decided to comeback for dessert and I am so glad we did. One of my friends warned me cheesecake in Europe (especially Germany) does not always taste like cheesecake in the USA, because many bakers use quark instead of cream cheese. Well, Copenhagen is awesome and this adorable cafe with amazing cheesecake that does taste like my favorite cheesecake in the USA, made my trip. I tried the chocolate genache cheesecake and my husband ordered the pecan carmel cheesecake. Our friends ordered the tiramisu cheesecake. All three were absolutely delicious. We also ordered lattes and prosecco. The prosecco paired extremely well with the chocolate genache cheesecake. I can't wait to comeback. Thanks again!! :-)

The wine on offer was limited and not that great (the kind that stains your teeth and leaves grainy residue at the bottom of the glass) and the tapas was pretty unoriginal. My only advice is: stick with what you know. When you ask for a suggestion of which of the two bottles of red the owner of the cafe suggests and his reply is that he doesn't know, and admits to knowing nothing about wine...you know you're in for something bad. I end with four stars: three for the tapas, five for the cheesecake & hygge. Pro-tip: from about April on, the front window gets direct afternoon sunlight and basically will result in you feeling like you're sitting in a sauna if you snag one of the two available tables there. Consider yourselves warned.

We got the 7 course tasting menu. What we especially enjoyed was that each dish was a understated celebration of the ingredients. For example, one of the dishes was two different types of radishes with a wonderful butter sauce. The sauce brought out the smooth flavor of the radishes. Another dish was a cabbage roll while had different leaves such as lettuce, kale, cabbage with a white sauce. Once again, sauces did not dominate but complimented the ingredients. Perhaps our favorite dish was a simple dish of perfectly cooked potatoes with a horseradish sauce. Dessert was great - a birch ice cream over rhubarb and a chocolate mousse with cookies on top. Again, very deftly done, nothing too overpowering. We loved this meal and really spent the time enjoying every bite. I took a photo of each course!

I came for dinner with my parents (we made reservations only the night before) and we ordered items a la carte instead of doing the tasting menu. Between the three of us, we ordered 6 dishes, including the beef tartare (medium portion), and it was a very sufficient amount of food. The tartare also came with some lovely, fluffy sourdough bread from Mirabelle. All of the dishes were delicious, and filled with various textures and flavours. I was particularly impressed by the amount of flavour in some of the vegetarian dishes. I really liked the celeriac & radishes. The vegetables were crunchy, and the flavours were light and fresh. The sesame seeds added a lovely bit of fragrance, and the capers a very appetizing element of tartness. The steamed mussels, and particularly the sauce in the dish, was also a favourite. Perfect levels of saltiness, creaminess, and overall garlicky and herby flavour. The beef tartare was also fantastic. It was meaty but not too heavy, flavourful but not too salty. When eaten in combination with the sourdough, each bite had a wonderful balance of fluffy bread, juicy meat, and refreshing greens. Other dishes we got were the creamy grains & herbs (great to start off with, because you feel like you are eating a healthy salad, but with a little bit of added heft due to the grains - also added some great texture), pommes Anna (hearty and almost "comfort food" feeling, but elevated), and hindsholm pork & vadouvan carrots (pork was almost ham-like, which I wasn't crazy about... but the combination of the carrots and pumpkin seeds in the dish gave it a very appealing "fall meal" kind of vibe.) I believe our meal in total ended up being around 600 DKK or even a bit less for three people, which is just unheard of in Copenhagen for this kind of dining experience. I would 1000% recommend this restaurant, and I am really hoping to come again to try their chef's choice menu, which at only 285 DKK is a steal.

I went here with a group of 10, and we sat pretty crammed up. However, we had a great dinner, with good wine, food and company. We all went for the 5-6 courses that costs about 300 kr. I can't recall all the courses we had, but a recap of what I remember was: Boiled Prawns Vitello Tonato - good, the tuna sauce was perfectly balanced, not too sour and fishy Buffalo Mozzarella with Tomatoes (Caprese) - Good elements, great taste (pretty hard to mess that one up though) Ham Rabbit Panna - Cotta Good simple dishes that tasted great. Nothing Badazzling though. But safe, good dishes that everyone at the table enjoyed. Great value for money. The service is friendly and the atmosphere in this place is lovely and warm.
