Out on another adventure with my favorite girl, we headed to Tap 42 Craft Kitchen & Bar after a long day of shopping and a 3-hour movie at the mall. By the time we arrived, we were absolutely starving. Since it was Saturday night, every restaurant had a wait list, but we decided to stick it out. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating and is located on the second floor near the large slide area. While waiting for our table, we found a nice outdoor seating area to relax. Once seated, we were happy to have a quieter outdoor table with a view of the slide since the inside was extremely loud and busy. Cue hungry people making questionable food decisions. We started with the chicken wings as an appetizer while desperately waiting to place our dinner order. Our server seemed very overwhelmed by the Saturday night rush, and another staff member actually brought over our appetizer before we were finally able to place our order. I ordered the cheeseburger with truffle fries, and my daughter ordered her usual favorite, chicken fingers. Unfortunately, after nearly 30 minutes, our server returned with the check before we had even received our food. Once we explained, he was very apologetic and assured us the order would be right out. Thankfully, my burger was absolutely worth the wait. It was one of the best burgers I have had in a long time: juicy, flavorful, and more than filling enough on its own. Honestly, the truffle fries were unnecessary because the burger completely stole the show. I only managed to eat half. My daughter thought her meal was just okay. Service throughout the evening was slow, but it was clear the staff was doing their best during a very busy night. Between the wait for a table and the delays with food and the check, dinner ended up taking almost 3 hours total. Overall, the food, especially the burger, would definitely bring me back. My favorite happy hour for wings and beer. Never disappoints. The wings were delicious and fries were hot and crispy. We did order two drinks which included an old fashioned. It was good ana strong. Definitely the highlight of our trip! Service was 10/10 so definitely ask for Lorenzo, he made our experience really great with great recommendations on food and drinks and was really attentive to our table. I ordered a chicken parm that i will absolutely dream about . The portion was huge and the food was flavorful and fresh. For a starter we ordered the street corn guacamole dip and that was really good it wouldn't have been something i would've chosen if not for Lorenzo and he was right on the mark because it was so fresh and delicious. Stopped by Tap 42 while at the mall and I'm so glad we did! This was our second visit to this location--the last time was about 4 or 5 years ago--and it was just as good as we remembered. We sat outside, and the ambiance was perfect for a nice meal. We were seated immediately and decided to stick to appetizers. We ordered the wings, guacamole, and the lettuce-wrapped tacos. Everything came out quickly and it was the perfect amount of food for the three of us. What really stood out was the incredible service from the entire team. The service was very slow. We waited over 10 minutes for a waiter and another 10 minutes just to get our sodas. The DJ was extremely loud, making it hard to have a conversation. Prices don't quantify for value. I remember the brunches being fun with a live DJ and a more festive vibe. This Tap42 location is inside the Aventura mall but is easily accessible! There is an elevator you can use that can easily get you to the Tap42 floor (2nd floor) without having to go inside the mall. We went early - @ 11:45am because we skipped breakfast and were HUNGRY. We loved coming at this time because how peaceful it was inside the restaurant, and not too much craziness or rowdiness. ANDDD let me compliment their music selection because my husband and I were enjoying all their throw-backs. We were vibing. Now let's get into the drinks/food. For drinks, they were advertising on their social media the "1942 Millionaire Margarita" - it is $29 but I would have to say you need to try it at least once. It has Grand Marnier and then you top it with a mini Don Julio 1942 bottle. You feel like a millionaire after drinking this. I also ordered a "Don't be a Prick" margarita after. It was a good drink to follow the Millionaire. I've had it before and it never disappoints. For appetizer, we ordered the Truffle street corn guacamole. If you know us, we never pass up anything with truffle. This guacamole is one of my favorites.. ever. It's always so perfectly made with the right amount of truffle so you can enjoy it. It was a good portion for two people. And it also comes with salsa on the side. For lunch, we shared the Chopped Chicken Caesar wrap. It was also being advertised on social media stating this wrap is giving other restaurants a run for their money.... And I must admit, they are right. It had the perfect amount of grilled chicken, croutons, salad, and dressing. AND they give you extra garlicky Caesar dressing on the side that is sooo addicting. Definitely recommend. Stopped by for an afternoon snack and drink at this beautiful spot inside Aventura Mall. The restaurant was fairly quiet at the time I visited, but you can tell it probably gets lively during dinner hours and weekends. From the moment I walked in, the hostess greeted me with a warm smile and promptly seated me at a cozy table for two. My server came by right away to take my order, which was a nice touch. Although I was dining solo, I wanted to take a little time for myself and enjoy something refreshing--so I ordered the Peachy Lychee Martini and the Spicy Tuna Tartare with malanga chips. Both arrived in a reasonable time. The martini was absolutely delicious--perfectly balanced and fruity without being too sweet. Most cities in South Florida you can find a Tap42. This one is attached to the outside of the Aventura Mall on the second floor which provides a picturesque setting. Took a seat at the bar and ordered an Ommegang Neon Rainbows which was cold and tasted perfectly hoppy. The crispy chicken tender melt sandwich with drizzled aioli took thirty-two minutes to arrive which was the longest I ever waited for a meal at Tap42 and was not happy. Maybe this timing issue was due to the changing of shifts, not sure. The sandwich was excellent with big plump chicken wedged between soft bread. Noticed that the wine glasses were placed into an auto spinning device to clean blemishes from the glass after washing it - great addition (see video). The bartenders were friendly and attentive during our one hour stay. The interior and exterior of the restaurant were ultra modern and appeared clean and well organized. The hallway leading into the men's bathroom had torn pieces of paper on the black carpet. Upon opening the bathroom door, more used wet paper were scattered all over the floor from the entrance to the sinks (see pic). An employee sanitary thirty minute checklist was not affixed to the back of the door, which could be a supervisory implementation in the future. Still one of my favorite eateries - the food, beer and atmosphere was fine with only a few issues that should be an easy fix. read more

Ordered a cold Elysian Space Dust beer which was thirst quenching. The chicken tender sandwich was huge and came with unmatched soft bread and crispy well seasoned fries. I had a great experience at Tap 42 in Aventura. What stood out to me the most was the attentiveness of the servers and hostess. There was a moment where the hostess noticed we were done with our food as she passed by our table and hinted to our server to check on us. That level of teamwork and attention to detail is very much appreciated. The food came out fast and hot. Definitely flavorful as well. At first glance the serving size looks small but the meals were surprisingly filling. The only downside is the pricing. Some items feel a little bit steep for what you get. Like a $10 side of fries seems a bit much. You're also in aventura so for the area I suppose it sounds about right. I would've like to try more things but it just didn't seam reasonable but maybe on another visit! Some coworkers and I met some donors there, and we ordered all of the appetizers they had along with drinks for a few hours. Our service was great, and the inside of the restaurant is a cool vibe. It was a little difficult to find because we didn't realize it was connected onto the mall. The lettuce wraps and the sliders were our favorite things we ordered! Recently visited Tap42 for lunch and it did not disappoint. Being there at 11:45am for lunch, there was no wait for a table on a Saturday. Dominic was our server and we really appreciated his attention and how welcoming and attentive he was with us. Ordered the Smoked Old Fashion as a drink and it was made perfectly. It was delicious so I had to order another round. For appetizer, my wife and I were recommended by our server to try the Truffle Street Corn Guacamole and it was a good choice. We devoured it because of how tasty it was. And it also comes with a side of salsa if you'd like. Would definitely order again. For lunch, my wife wanted to try the Chopped Chicken Caesar wrap since it was being advertised on Tap42s Instagram page. We shared it and it was a good portion for us both and it also comes with fries, we elected to elevate to truffle Parmesan fries for an up-charge and it was worth it. The Asian calamari tower is a must try and always hit the spot. Food was good and not great but boy didn't take forever. Never a good experience when another table arrives well after you and they get all their food well before your food arrives. Our waitress was either not having a good day or a bit overwhelmed when it wasn't even busy. It took 40 minutes for our entrees to arrive. After the first check in from the waitress notifying our food will come out shortly is normal. But by the third time it's mentioned, that's totally not normal and should have arrive well before the second mention about our food status. Unacceptable and when she was sought out for status, she was nowhere to be found. Food finally arrived with no apologies or explanations on the delay. Food was hot and it was good as always but service was not up to par as any customer should not wait 40 minutes for their food.
