We went to the Tanunda Hotel for dinner on a very busy Saturday night in a group. We almost weren't going to book but thankfully we did, as it was PACKED! We mainly chose Tanunda Hotel as it's in the Entertainment Book and most people in our group have one.
I'll be honest - I expected it to be awful, especially when I saw how busy it was. However I was surprised. I certainly wasn't blown away but it was a lot better than I expected.
Yes, the place is looking a bit worse for wear, but it still has a bit of country charm about it. We sat outside in the beer garden which was still quite cosy and had TV screens with sport to keep the boys in our group happy.
The menu was quite extensive, with the type of menu items you'd expect from a pub.
We had to order at the bar, which people may know from my other reviews makes me happy - no messy bill splitting at the end. The only downside to this was they were quite understaffed and the line to order took awhile to get through.
Despite this, our food arrived within about ten minutes. While it was nothing to write home about, everything was hot & tasty.
Bottom line: Don't judge a book by it's cover. It won't be the best dining experience you'll ever have, but if our dinner is anything to go by, it won't be the worst either. read more
