According to the menu notes, the family got into the F&B business 4 generations ago. They cheekily say that the town hall is next to them as opposed to the restaurant being next to the town hall. After tasting their sausages, we are inclined to agree! Seating was a surprise. No reservations and you do not wait to be seated. The waiter told us to grab a table as soon as the previous occupants leave. The white sausages were served in a consommé. The brown sausages were served with sauerkraut. There were two types of mustard. Our son and I much preferred the dark brown one with our white sausages. We ordered a bottle of Riesling as well as water. Finally, I need to talk about their pretzels. These are the best pretzels we've ever had. They were soft and fragrant. The salt on them isn't hard, but crumbles easily when pressed. Can't believe I had been eating supermarket bakery pretzels since we arrived in Munster for the past several days. The pretzels are such a draw that the four ladies at the table next to us simply ordered a beer and a pretzel each.

The food, the views, the great weather (when there's great weather), and the excellent wurst. Lots to choose from on the menu, seems like the kind of place anyone can find something to enjoy. And by the time you're a few beers in ... you'll enjoy everything even more! Likewise can't complain about the service - our server was quick to point us to a table, get us a bottle of water, and came back a few times to see if we were ready to order (quite a lot of menu to review so it took us a while). What more can you ask for? Great lunch or dinner spot in the heart of town.

First and foremost, this is not a dive bar. This is a traditional German regional restaurant that…read moreof course also serves beer. Because Germany. I won't belabor the point because this is a straightforward place: - food is authentic and excellent, and emphasizes the regional cuisine of Nordrhein Westfalen - service is friendly and fast - decor is like being in a German time capsule, which is wonderful In a word or two, ganz gemütlich!

The winning dish in question was the best antipasto platter I have EVER had in my entire life, and you can trust me - it's one of my favorite dishes to order in a restaurant. This was an antipasto lover's dream - hummus, fresh mozzarella, grilled veggies, and a smorgasbord of other interesting yummy things to pick at, along with delicious mini bread roll things to dip. Washed down with some delicious beer this is a perfect meal for two. ... And you can trust me on that as well because, starving as we were, we ordered both the antipasto and two fairly small main dishes, and neither of us could eat more than three bites of the "mains" (such a shame...). And as a testament to how lovely the restaurant itself is, we both actually felt guilty because we couldn't eat the mains... we actually apologized to the wait staff when we went to pay. This place feels like the cozy living room of some revolutionary group during a peaceful time, paired with a german mum who wants to stuff you full of delicious food. It's not upscale or the place to have a classy "date night" but it's THE place to hang out, chill out, eat some ridiculously good (and cheap) food and have some drinks before heading two minutes over to the bar district for the evening. Go here.
