Back again! I loved Tans pizza before, but after receiving a surprise pizza delivery at work I've been craving it! And ordered for pickup. I arrived a little early and was greeted by the owner Tan. He's a very nice man and shared the story of how he came to purchase the former $5 pizza place right before covid hit. As I still and listened to his story I was struck by how good it smelled! It really brought back memories of being at a Pizza Chalet or other classic Italian pizza joint. That fresh baked dough and sauce smell. Take the time to talk with him, he's got a very interesting story and in his words "wants to serve an honest pizza", and that's exactly what I got! They have by far the best pizza I've had in, well, I can't remember when. No, they're not the cheapest pizza in town (for that you go to Little Caesars), BUT they do have the tastiest pizza. We started off trying the Condor. First bite: OMFG GOOD! Second bite: Yep. We're coming back! My personal favorite is the shrimp eaters pizza. Second favorite is the smoked bacon pizza (I know, can't go wrong with anything made with bacon!). Third favorite: the Condor pizza. Keep in mind these three are all vying for first place, although I think the shrimp eaters is winning by 1/100th of a second. I don't understand all the 4 star reviews on here because this is not good pizza, especially for the high prices they charge. Having to take a trip out this way for a gig, the hubs & I were parched from the temperatures- that's to be expected & little bit hungry. I was craving pizza, but where does one go to that has by the slice? Well fortunately for us, this was an option. They have personal combos for slice of pizza & can of soda, small serving portion pasta & can of soda, wing combo & can soda... you get it. We got the pizza combos each, to go and sat there waiting. Yes it takes awhile because he's making fresh right there & in front of you. But once we got it, took off (because obviously can't dine in, place is too tiny to social distance dining) to find a shady spot somewhere - ha ha, where does one find shade out here? Well we did, you'll drive around seeing wide open streets with nada. But we kept going north & found trees that provided shade & street wasn't populated with activity because it's so damn hot. Anyhow, the verdict: yup it was goood! Reminded me of my youth being at Venice beach getting a slice. Just good tasty pizza that I haven't had in forever. I don't know about their pastas? But judging by the people coming in ordering pizza & also just wings-seems like they too were bomb.
