I've never had a hair disaster there, which I can't say about some more expensive salons in NYC & NJ (where I paid up to $75 for a cut). The latest stylist I had was Kate. She took my mumbo jumbo request for a new look and aced it. Took years off me! I asked for a couple things that wouldn't work and she took the time to explain why. Can't beat the price (+ now I get a senior discount), and your cut is gonna be pretty quick. If you have a simple style request, you'll most likely come out happy.

So I came here to get my hair blown out for my grad pics and on the phone I was like I really want them to stay and look nice and the lady was like we can definitely have them hold because that's why I was going to a salon to get them done. But then when I got there I was told by my artist that really was so sweet said that she wasn't sure it was going to hold which was really upsetting when I was told on the phone it 100% would. I know this isn't her fault but I really wish I was told the truth and that they would've had to seen my hair. And by the time it was the end it looked nice but something I could've done at home but right when I got home it fell out and I really didn't have time to ask for anything else either. It's just upsetting as a college student who doesn't really have money to spend $50 on hair just for it to be the same that I could've done at home.

Also in this strip mall are Rita's Water Ice, Beau Ridge Photography, and Shore Agency Insurance. I initially caught wind of this place through word of mouth particular to a pro stylist named Valerie Torres. Val's specialty is haircuts, color, and highlights based on the style you're looking for. While it's a little salon, the place appeared fairly busy on each visit so appointments are recommended. What I liked most about the experience is that Val is very down to earth and focused on meeting the expectations of your cut and/or color. I needed all over color and highlights (premature grey be damned!). While this isn't a particularly a tall order, I was looking for a different style to keep the weight out of my hair and to freshen up my look for work. Val and I talked it over and came up with a look that exceeded my expectations. In short, I found a stylist who was on time, courteous, eager to work with me to come up with a style that I really liked. Best of all? For an all over color, cut, highlights and low lights, the cost was very reasonable. I would strongly recommend calling ahead for an appointment and booking with Val. You'll be pleased that you did!

It was in the front of the building and you were sitting in the window in your spa robe, for all walking in and out of the spa to see. It didn't feel very pampering.
