I was highlighting my hair before, I'm a natural brunette. And I was trying to hide the gray hairs that have cropped up. So this fall I decided to go dark brown almost black, with red highlights. What I had was mostly red and my natural brown at the bottom of my hair. Stephanie was able to correct this, the process took 3 1/2 hours because my hair is very long and very thick. We realized at the end that because my hair has been highlighted previously that some of the red didn't take. Not to worry, Stephanie said. She said that correction was baby steps and that there were ways to get that hair to take the red. What I liked was the time that she took to do my hair, she was very meticulous and the way that she was making sure all the strands were covered. Also I appreciated her advice on how to keep the red. And I really like that she told me if it's not keeping, you can come back, we can fix this, not a big deal. It was really comforting to know that someone cared about my haircolor as much as I cared and I really appreciated her service.

When I confronted them about why they have me blocked they said it must be a problem with their line and no one blocked me . Ya never referring anyone. What I mean by that is most times you ask Hair Stylist to only takeoff a little they takeoff a lot, Dawn makes you feel very comfortable and only takes off a little. The shop is clean and very today looking and located in a shopping center that has plenty of parking. They also offer an array of products for your hair. You can tell the employees all love working there because they all have a positive rapport with one another which I think helps with the quality of energy during your visit. Especially when sometimes your visits are four hours at a time. We don't currently live in Chicago, but every time we are in Chicago area we will visit the sorelle salon!

I recently moved into town, and was looking forward to being a few blocks away from this salon so I could make it my "regular" spot, but looks like that won't be the case. Firstly, she will over charge you and come up with prices on the spot that are ridiculously expensive. For example to do a keratin treatment it was 200$ the first two times. Then, the third time (a year later) she said it's 400$ and I told her about how much I paid last time she charge 200 and she said no it wasn't. However I know for a fact I wouldn't pay more since 200 is a lot already! Secondly, the quality of the services she provide is hit or miss but only miss toward the last 5 appointments. She is not good at cutting curly hair and with balayage with darker hair she always left it orange for me and others i've witnessed. I found she is good in the beginning when she was trying to impress a new client and get us to come back but over time she over charged and under performed. Some of it depends on the number of people and whether she is rushing to finish you for the next person which happened a lot! She can split the attention of your appointment with other people if you book on weekends which isn't the end of the world but isn't pleasant and can feel like she isn't paying attention to what she is doing. Lastly but most importantly; the overcharging got out of hand and was taken advantaging of us being regulars. She would come up with a random price and each time it started getting more expensive and once I planned to color my hair she told me 180-250 and then it was over 300. Simply put, it was WAY overpriced since I have paid half or almost half for every service I had at the salon at my new salon. (never got a receipt and was always asked to pay cash) The service wasn't great and the quality was varied.

Two days later after washing my hair chunks came out and I took pictures I contacted Tina and she blamed it on the weather and my thyroid's I actually went to my doctors office a month prior and got my bloodwork done and everything is normal.
