The Tanger Outlets in Gonzales, Louisiana is a good place to shop for some bargains and with it just being off of the highway, it was a convenient stop, as well. It had the usual assortment of stores that you would expect from a Tanger Outlets. The property was well-maintained and the place had a good layout. In addition to the stores, you had a few dining options, as well. Overall, it was a good place to do some shopping. I hit up a few stores including the Polo by Ralph Lauren and the Tommy Hilfiger and grabbed a bite at the Chili's. The service was friendly at each location and it was a positive experience. It is not the largest outlet, but is an easy off/easy on during runs back and forth to New Orleans from Houston. I usually have this a thirty minute power shopping break on the drive. What can you do in thirty minutes? A lot of you know what you need! Ann Taylor and the LOFT. Check out their clearance sections. Today, Ann Taylor had 50% off their clearance section plus an additional 10% off coupon. $40 for two shirts and pair of dress slacks. Not bad. Similar deals at LOFT. On similar power shopping runs, have found some great deals like three leather men's belts at Banana Republic for under $50, nice Polos at Ralph Lauren and treats for my nurses at Vera Bradley. And....they have free charging stations for your hybrid or electric vehicle. Power up while you power shop! Plan it out and shop 'til you drop, or until your thirty minute time slot runs out. read more

The world is filled with angry people, such as a lady by the name of Jennifer T., who responded very angrily to my post noting "my" experience. I'm not sure why the anger, it's truly unnecessary. I gave "my opinion of my experience" in hopes of a change. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't great, and because of this I have temporarily reframed from purchasing cookies from this location. Everyone deserves a second chance. Maybe I will encounter different team members that are not negative or adversely opinionated as the pregnant lady I encountered during my visit. Customers such as myself need to know that the items purchased are handled with care and employees consider cleanliness a necessity. When I make an unusual request such as two scoops of frosting layered between two cookies and willing to pay for it, I'm not sure why any employee would make a derogatory statement that is counterproductive, and on the other hand, positively supports their paycheck. read more

These Tanger Outlets have a lot of parking available, and I appreciate their wealth of clean public restrooms. We went for the most recent time over the post Thanksgiving Sales weekend. Some stores such as Old Navy, Nike and Levi had excellent sales. The Croc store, however, was selling shoes at this "outlet" store for the regular cost and the Charlotte Russe has misleading signs (for instance, a sign saying 50% would be over a wide selection of items that were being sold at their ticket price, apparently already 50% off?) The outlets are enjoyable and fun to walk through but I'm not sure if they are the best deals in all cases. read more

We always have such a great time at Tanger Outlets when we come home to visit. We were home in early December and got to do some Christmas shopping at Tanger and as always I was so happy! I love the fact there are plenty of places to sit so that if you need to take a break you can -- or in our case we played "go keep -- busy while I buy this present for them!" It was a great day looking in shops, snacking our way along and having a nice time. We really had a blast. My only complaint is the stores were extremely lacking in A/C and with the large crowds it made it very uncomfortable to try on clothes or wait in long lines. They could use air! This outlet mall seems to be huge, mainly because the primary building is one long building that curves. There are two other smaller strips of buildings with a ton of parking in between. I like how there are about 6 or so public restrooms spread throughout the mall. There is one main entrance and exit. The Starbucks is stand alone, and that lot can get tight when it is crowded. Tanger outlets, being a national chain, is known, in my mind, of being reputable. Most of the stores in this mall don't really have the prices for a typical regular outlet store. The worst time to be shopping this mall is during the winter holiday season, but that is to be expected with any retail shopping experience. All in all, I like the variety. Several options for shoes, accessories and clothing. This is a winner in my book! read more

I love that the outlets have a variety of stores for most people's taste. I really enjoy coming out here for Christmas because I can get most of my shopping done. I am able to get something for everyone on my list. During the pandemic, all of the stores were extra cautious, and I liked this. The reason for the 3 stars is because on a recent visit, all of the restrooms were closed about 15 minutes before closing. I really wanted to go before I got on the road, and I want to change the little one's diaper. I finally went to the customer service desk, and she radioed someone. They told her that one restroom was open, but it was all the way on the other end. Hubby had to drive me all the way to the other end of the outlets in order for me to use the restroom. Overall, it is worth visiting because of the selection of stores and there is plenty of parking. just be mindful of the times because the restrooms maybe closed. read more

This is labeled as an outlet mall but I think it is hard to find good deals here. An outlet mall's entire selling point is getting designer brands at discounted prices. Tanger has some good stores like Coach, Kenneth Cole, Talbots, Brooks Brothers, Nine West, and J. Crew. The prices at these stores are usually about the same as at their other locations or only discounted around 20%. The only dining option in the mall is a Subway. The others (Chili's, Cracker Barrel, and Wendy's) are situated around the perimeter of the actual mall. This is a decent shopping destination but don't expect to find amazing bargains here. read more

I've been to other outlet malls with less walking and cooler weather. Also, I was hangry at the time which marginally affects my rating and opinion of this place. I absolutely love Tanger Outlets because there are so many stores to choose from and of there's bargains around every corner. Plenty of free parking here and you can basically park in front of whatever store you want. Of course you can park and shop the day away if your budget allows it. There are nice clean bathrooms here and lots of restaurant choices as well. I have spent the whole day here just browsing the stores. You can buy anything from tools for the hubby, shoes for the family. You can get clothes for the kiddo's and and grab kitchen stuff to cook your next gourmet meal. Kudos to this Tanger Outlets complex; they have done a lot of work that has really improved the overall look and feel of the area. It's been a while since I've been here, but it looks great! With these improvements, I hope the goal is to get some key missing stores to open (Calvin Klein, Clarks, Cole Haan, H&M, maybe even Saks Off Fifth Avenue) and get some better food places. I love these outlet stores! It's basically one huge strip mall. I have no idea if this is how other outlets are, as I have never been to any other ones, but that's the way it is here. There are a lot of stores and it can be a bit overwhelming. The ones that I am always sure to check out: Coach, Old Navy (which seems to have WAY cuter things than the one at the mall), Body Factory, Nine West and White House/Black Market. Trust me when I say that there are a TON of stores and they cover everyone from kids to women to men. I usually like to go during the week, when I can. They have some good stores and some less good stores. For some reason Yelp pulled my review of the Brooks Brothers Outlet and that is just plain silly as that's the main store I shop at here. The prices at the outlets have really gone up and are on par with what you see in the actual stores so definitely wait for a sale and get sale coupons from the stores and the Tanger Outlet welcome center. read more

I don't come to this outlet often, but when I do it's nice to shop at a different outlet. I've been coming here more often because I've been helping someone move back home, so we're always passing by. There's a variety of stores so make sure to check out online at their website what's there. I know they are in the process of building more complexes to add more stores in like J. Crew and Under Armour. My friends and I love hitting up the Nike Outlet every chance we get to try and catch good sales. I've managed to purchase a few shoes from this location. Bath & Body Works for us is a must go, along with Old Navy, Gap, and Express. Sitting here I realize we don't explore the whole outlet enough. We like to stick to our usual spots. There's a Cracker Barrel in the middle of the parking lot almost, and gas stations on the way in with a Starbucks close by. It gets busy like any other place during the weekends and it is holiday shopping season. So expect some traffic in the parking lot and stores. Other than that it's a nice place to walk off your legs if you've been cooped up in the car for a while. read more

I didn't have an issue with parking in general, but it really depends where you're shopping. The Starbucks lot was very packed, but once you head into the main parking area, you shouldn't have trouble there. Aside from that, it's just your average outlet. read more

Although I am not a big shopper and I despise the mall, I have to say I enjoy a few of my favorite shops here. I am a big Ann Taylor fan and can always find good bargains since our seasons tend to overlap forever into the next season. Since they have opened the newest section, including Talbots, J Crew, Brooks Bros I find myself frequenting it more than I ever have. And now they have the Great American Cookie Co which was a brilliant addition because that's my all time favorite treat while shopping. Hey since I hate shopping so much I have to find something enjoyable to reward myself with and this always does the trick :) I do not care for the way the layout is designed of the overall shopping center, Foley Al is much better plan and I enjoy hanging out there as opposed to here where I find what I need then leaving due to lack of any common ground. And I hate the way the doors are designed to open directly into the walkway, so you have to be careful every time you approach a door not to be broadsided from someone exiting the store. But I am fortunate that I live a short distance so that makes it even better for me. I have found some decent bargains at the Coach store since the Coach store will send items that haven't sold to the outlet, but the majority of the items are made strictly for the outlets. I find this with most of the stores so the heavy bargain hunters will not like it for this reason. The malls and their sales will have much better deals. Gonzales sales tax is a bit lower than Baton Rouge's so you do save a little bit in that area. If you like them on Facebook and sign up for their specials, they do send coupons and added specials directly to your phone. read more

I love this outlet mall. Is it the best in the country? Of course not but it's a pretty good to have in the area. I love how it's also constantly expanding. I have been coming here for years on top of years and I've seen so much progress! There's a pretty good selection of stores here although in my opinion, I feel like it's better for shopping for kids. Any time it's time to restock my kid's clothing supply this is one of the first places I like to go. Many different stores to choose from all in one area. The only thing I wish would be that there were more food areas in the actual strip of stores. The only one currently is Subway. Me not being a huge fan of Subway doesn't make me too happy about that. It would be great to stop and grab a bite to eat while on my shopping mission. read more

Just like all the Tanger Outlets, there's some stores that have great deals and make you wonder why you ever stepped foot into anything other than the outlet version and then there are stores whose prices are so ridiculously high that you forget you're even in an outlet. This is about a 45 minute drive for me so it's definitely a shopping day that I "save up" for monetarily and time wise. I do most of my shopping at The Loft, UA (they always have excellent specials running), Banana Republic, Nine West, Gap, and Ann Taylor. I LOVE the Van Heusen store especially because you cannot order any women's apparel from their website. The only reason I don't give them a 5 star rating is because the savings aren't so great to make me exclusively shop here. Overall, you can make a nice day out of shopping at these outlets and eating at the nearby restaurants. read more

Ever expanding. This is your typical outlet mall with your typical store. And that is generally a good thing. Parking could be an issue as they just added some new stores and put them in the middle of the parking lot. Just park far away and walk. You are going to be walking a lot anyway. I usually go here for the Nike Outlet and Banana Republic. But I don't tend to do a lot of shopping. Others love it though and this is the place to be. read more

I only went to the Coach Factory Store. They sell a secondary line Coach makes for places like these, and mid-range department stores like Macy's. None of them are made entirely of real leather, although they are "trimmed" in real leather (the key fobs, and in some cases the handles.) So don't go expecting last year's Coach bags for heavily discounted prices. That's the bad news; the good news is that everything is new and still hand-made in a Coach factory, no seconds or mistakes are sold here. Judging from the price tags, the prices aren't much below full retail, UNLESS you go on a holiday. I went on the 4th of July, there was 50% off the entire store, 20% off clearance, and there must have been some secret discount on top of that, because I paid $108 (with tax) for a purse that was marked $358. With those caveats in mind, I would recommend the Coach outlet to people who like good handbags and/or are brand name snobs on a budget. read more

**I promised I'd change my rating to a 5 if they ever added a JCrew. I found out yesterday that JCrew at Tanger will open in March 2013!** Tanger has come a long way over the past 5 years or so. I used to NEVER stop here and cringed at the idea of buying something from Tanger. HOWEVER, it is now a great place to shop, which is great since it's about 30 minutes closer to my house than the 'real' mall. They've added Banana Republic, Coach, Nike and Kenneth Cole and kept strong stores like Gap, Old Navy, Carters and Ann Taylor. The overall appearance has also come a long way. It used to be a terrible dull red mall and now it has really come to life. There are always great sales and I highly recommend getting on the factory email lists at your favorite stores. I constantly get emails from Coach (30% off), Ann Taylor, Banana Republic and Gap too. If they ever add a JCREW to the mix, I'll come back and give them a 5! read more

Our family has been visiting the outlet mall for years. It's still enjoyable, but it's losing a bit of it's charm the bigger Gonzales gets. We'll definitely still be back though. Tanger hasn't always been this good. I remember when I was a kid that this place was pretty subpar. This is no longer the case. Tanger has lots of really good outlets like Brooks Brothers, J. Crew, Levi's, and apparently they are building a Polo store (it may be open now, I'm not sure). The parking doesn't seem that bad and as long as you aren't going at peak times on the weekend, you probably wont have to wait much for service. Honestly, I'd rather come here to buy clothes than the Mall of Louisiana as I hate going in malls. This at least is outside so you don't have to deal with all those little sales carts with people that harass you to buy their product. It's also right by Cabela's which some people might appreciate. read more

The best sales are during the week. I've been here on a random Tuesday with no holiday upcoming, and Express and Polo both had 50% AND UP sales going on. Parking is plentiful, fast food places like Chipotle, Popeyes, and Starbucks nearby. Stores range from lower budget Charlotte Russe and Aeropostale to more brand name Nike, Zales, Coach, and J Crew.
