The food is consistently excellent and there is an opulent feel to the decor. I particularly like the relaxed ambience. Fast food is not for me. I am quite old now despite my remarkably youthful appearance. There is too much speed in modern life for my liking. The Rose of India experience is like stepping back to a previous age of elegance. The service is of the highest quality and so is everything else in my opinion.

It is one of the best indian restaurants in Essex I have eaten at with efficient and friendly staff. The food is excellent with some interesting new dishes and plenty of traditional curries too. There are also plenty of options for vegetarians. The music is very nice and also the takeaways are cheaper than most restaurants in chelmsford as they give 30% discount on collection. They do not have a car park which is a bit of a pain but there are several car parks within walking distance

It was exceptional in every aspect . The food was the best I have had for a long time . We had shared tandoori starters . The kebabs were cooked to perfection and the onion Bhaji was not oily. Its quite small, but that only adds to the atmosphere. The menu is varied, and the food is cooked to perfection, and reasonably priced. They dont have a license for alcohol, so you can bring your own, which saves you money - and they will even lend you a corkscrew if needed! The only downfall is because its so small, its virtually impossible to bring pushchairs in, and there are no highchairs available, so maybe this is one to try when you have a babysitter! The atmosphere is really relaxed and friendly, and its extremely popular, so making a reservation is highly recommended, especially at the weekend. They also do a delivery service (incase you cant get that babysitter!) You wont miss the restaurant either, its painted bright pink!! Dont let that put you off though, the food is scrummy!

Though the place was completely empty, the food was great, really good rice. Many vegetarian options than an be veganized as well. Coming in with a dog was no problem (probably because it was empty!). We were very pleased with this find. Quite good for delivery or take away as well.
