We were in the area and decided to try this place out. We did see it got pretty good reviews on Yelp. We found out from the owner they have been open for close to 30 years! The inside decor is ok, there are some booths you can sit in but I don't recall any decorations or anything on the walls that I remember. I think this place is all about the food, no need for anything else. Our order: 1. Samosas- stuffed with potato and green peas. I think these were flavored well, but the outside seemed a bit over fried and too hard. 3/5 2. Chicken Tikka masala- Probably the favorite thing we had. The sauce was delicious, the chicken was not too bad, we knew it was Tandoori chicken which tends to be white meat which can be dry. Not bad with the sauce, would have preferred more pieces for the price. 4/5 3. Vegetable Pakoras- These also were seasoned well, I thought a bit overdone like the Samosas. 3.5/5 4. Palek Paneer- This was ok, definitely not the best Palek that we've had. I think it lacked seasoning, just tasted salty. We preferred more Paneer and spinach seemed old. I would not order this dish again. 2/5 5. Breads- The tandoori Chicken came with Naan as well as the Palek Paneer, but we ordered different breads to try. We got Onion Kulcha and Aloo Paratha, both of them were pretty good, but the onion Kulcha was far better. I think if I came again, I would order the Chicken Tikka Masala, Onion Kulcha and Aloo Paratha. We thought the owner was super friendly, the food came out insanely quickly for how much was ordered. I think if you are in a pinch and want to get some Indian food, this place is an option. I think what might draw people to this place is the price and service. Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Food: 3/5

I'm so happy to have this family owned business still producing the best chicken Tikka malsa I've ever had! I've been meaning to try out the menu (I've had a few other entrees), but definitely my go-to when craving naan, riata, and chicken Tikka malsa! This place is always clean, staff very welcoming with quick service and lunch special which includes a drink! Flavor has not wavered at all!!! Special comes with naan, chicken, rice and lentils... perfect for lunch or dinner and just amazing flavor! They are conveniently located in Ralph's grocery store parking lot area, plenty of parking, and right next to the subway. It is with the strip of restaurants, Subway and Tandoor have remained, the other change constantly. Seating inside and outside available.

The chef and I'm assuming owner is so sweet. He offered me a hot masala chai as I waited. I go here and get take out all the time during my lunch breaks and just introduced this place to my roomie! I got the chicken tikka masala and it comes with rice and naan. Hits every time!!!

Stopped by on a whim, and boy am I glad that I did! The food is excellent! I asked the owner what he recommended and he replied "Anything", and I see why. My food was excellent, the samosas were crisp and the chutney was wonderful and a little different than what I am used to. It's a very small place but they have plenty of seating, both inside and outside. Really great!

Hole in the wall Indian restaurant with good food. I stumbled on it accidentally and was looking for unique food choices, and found it. Select from vegan vegetarian or conventional meals. The owner and staff will adjust the spice level of each meal to your liking! Each dish comes with naan bread serving. The only down side is that all dishes are served in to-go packages even if you eat there...

Hole in the wall restaurant with good Indian food! I had the eggplant dish, chickpeas dish and vegetable samosas all of which were very good. The downfall was when the server brought us our plastic utensils he was not holding them by the handles but by the head of them! Of course I threw them away and got my own.

Makhini Chicken

I love love love coming here. The owners are such nice people and the food is great. Portion to price is fair and it really does taste like a home cooked meal. The restaurant is always clean and welcoming.

Delicious Indian food at very reasonable prices. I try to go once a week. The service is great and there are tables inside for dinning in.

Friendly service, decent portion. Food was quite bland and lukewarm however, and not good enough for me to want to pay for it again.

It appears every item is made from preserved readymade packets. Nothing is fresh and service isn't there.

Did this place close? I hope not 😓 Google says they are closed and when I called nobody answered.

They have a sign on the door saying they're closed for a family event and will reopen in late January, but there wasn't a specific date listed.

The staff is so friendly, checking in on you and one of our dishes we were afraid to get it too spicy and they brought out a spicy sauce to add heat tot he dish. Some things have changed. The chai was excellent which I ordered while I waited. Everything smelled so good on the way home in the car. When we got home and had the food, the flavors were nice, but a few things were not so good. I will attribute it with costs of a small business trying to stay alive in this economy. Because the differences I noticed were cost related. First of all the baingan bharta should be called baingan peas because it was a sea of green peas. And I do not like peas. It is not even possible to get a bite without peas or to separate them out, it is chock full of peas. I didn't even see any eggplant pieces in there. Peas are way cheaper than eggplant. Secondly the kashmiri naan which hubby and I love - and have been ordering for years was different. We used to go there just for the Kashmir naan. But this time it was nothing special. It was thin with less filling and with more coconut (cheaper) than the last time we ordered it. There were no cherries that I could tell which used to be the main flavor with some nuts. The naan itself was thin. I was craving the good thick pillowy Indian bread stuffed full of deliciousness. But all I could taste was stale naan. I know that French almond croissants are traditionally made by filling the day old croissants with almond paste. And they are delicious. Maybe that's how kashmiri naan is made. But this naan just tasted stale. So I was disappointed. The other disappointment came with the to-go packaging. Everything was tightly wrapped in plastic wrap, however still something leaked through one of the brown paper bags making it tear through. Secondly when I opened the plastic container of the korma it squirted all over me and stained my ivory sweater. So I was already bummed by that experience even before opening the peas bharta. It appears the restaurant had rebranded itself as Indian Punjabi Cuisine and has a new Panjabi teddy bear logo. So I'm thinking that perhaps the ownership has changed hands. I didn't see the older Indian lady owner who is usually there during the lunchtime. Oh, they have the butter chicken on the backside of the menu with three other house specialties and I didn't see it until after I had placed the order -or I would have ordered that instead of the chicken tiki masala for my dad. We haven't had the desserts yet, but I trust they'll be fine. Anyway don't take my word for it. Go check it out for yourself.

Saturday night after a show at the theater down the street, we were walking along Park and decided that was the night! It was almost 9 o'clock when we came into the charming house-turned-restaurant and asked if it was too late to get a table. We were assured it was the perfect time and seated right away. Our lovely server, Melissa, offered us expert guidance on the menu. We went with her suggestion of the roasted mushroom appetizer and were floored by them. I wouldn't expect to be so stunned by mushrooms of all things (I can only think of one other time and beer batter was involved then) but they're wonderfully seasoned and have unexpected crunchy bits. We completely cleaned the plate, scooping up all the spaghetti squash accompaniment. Our mains were also delicious, a fava bean and a lamb entree with cabbage and lentils as the sides. Melissa delivered extra injera without us even asking, and gave us the excellent tip as we headed out to add our leftovers to a pan of scrambled eggs. We did so the next morning, and ate them with our crisped up leftover injera, a very tasty cap to our experience with Muzita!
