I really wanted to love Skintreet. This review is based off of an experience with a single…read moreesthetician and doesn't necessarily reflect the entire salon. As a specialist in Brazillian waxing, I expected a high level of professionalism and cleanliness. My biggest concern was with the fact that the wax was not sanitary. I studied at an esthetics school in Montreal and the first rule of waxing was NEVER double dip your spatula, etc. Unless policy at Skintreet is to use a fresh pot of wax for each client (which I doubt) the esthetician was not following this golden rule. The method was: bare hands, into wax pot, onto skin, wax area, hands back in wax pot. In comparison, I have never been to a SINGLE salon or spa that does this. The estheticians wear gloves or at least ALWAYS use fresh spatulas EACH time they access the wax. I've had several Brazillians since, and all were less painful - which is less of a concern to me than the cleanliness issue. The price ended up being around $70. I hate leaving bad reviews, but this was just plain dangerous. It's possible this esthetician is no longer with the salon, but it was enough to make me not consider going back. I *doubt* such a high end salon doesn't follow sanitation policy, and it was likely just a rogue case, but it'd be worth asking about if you make an appointment.

More recently I have been going for laser treatment for stubborn hairs primarily on my lower face/chin/neck as well as my underarms. The results have been incredible, even after only 2 sessions, the hair is so much lighter and I don't have to worry about ingrowns, bumps, razor burn etc. The facility is very clean and professional, I can't say enough good things about my experience here.

I was left waiting for long periods of time without knowing what to expect; I found out my MT appt. was delayed only after I asked (10 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start). Some staff members offer to refill coffee/tea; some leave that up to clients. I received a gift certificate for some minutes at any Kokomo's location in London, but I chose this…read moreone since it is on my route home from work and easy to get to coming from the west side of town. I used to tan a lot in high school and then sometimes in university before trips, so i am not new to the process. I was heading to vegas so I thought I would get a base tan before I fried in the hot desert sun. I really enjoy researching tanning lotions. I love the different kinds, the packaging, the smells, the intended benefits, everything. When I arrived, I noticed all the bottles of lotion were behind the desk. So I asked the girl working there if she had any firming lotions. She didn't know, but recommended a product to me because she liked the smell. I was a bit underwhelmed by this because I feel she should have known her products a bit better and fit something that was a bit more what I was looking for. She didn't take much time to look into it at all. I only purchased sample lotions because I wasn't going to put down a ton of money on something I may not enjoy. I had minutes for the monster beds, I have seen these types of beds on their website and when I got into the room, I was pretty disappointed. The stand up bed's floor was pretty sunken in, and very heavily used. I once asked for the lay-down bed and I was warned that the fan was broken in it. I used it anyways but noticed the acrylic was in such a horrible state. This is partly due to people wearing the wrong type of products in the bed, but still, I've never ever seen beds in this shape before. There are little things that just kind of bothered me when I went there. Like I would call ahead and make an appointment for a specific time and when I arrived, the girl had no idea who I was, and I had to recite my 6 digit ID number to her each time. It wasn't very welcoming. The salon is dark and dated, I think it could use a LOT of work. I will be choosing a different salon the next time I decide to tan again.
