It came off a flat top, no char, no open flame. Still a solid sandwich, just don't expect grill marks. Staff was attentive without being overbearing, which I appreciated. The vibe is basically an enclosed food truck - bare bones, no frills, nothing fancy on the walls. That's fine. Food was good enough that I'd come back and bring people, but with the options in this area, Uptown wouldn't be my first call. Worth a visit, just not a destination.

Dinner the first and last night and coffee and a frittata in between. Really good cappuccino and the frittata was so good it surprised me. The first night I had the peninsula platter, blackened. Everything was cooked wonderfully and had plenty to take back to the condo. We also had shrimp wontons. My friend had grilled mahi mahi, the catch of the day. She loved it. Second dinner we got peel and eat shrimp. One of my personal favorites. Could eat pounds and pounds! Was really good! I got seafood chowder and a small salad. Friend had grouper sandwich and fries. Alex was our server this evening and thanks for not taking my fries, Alex! He was great! We briefly met the owner and she was lovely. She makes a wonderful cappuccino!! Will definitely be going back when we return.

She didn't ask if I would like to dine in and regardless it was very dismissive . What difference would it hace been if I ordered my meal then asked for a to- go box ? This is for the owner - just trying to help . Man I used to love this place for years and years but tonight was the last time . Not even for the ice cream . Lots of ice cream on the cape . Ordered from Long Bills and picking up as we speak Do better Coneheads !!

The quarter-pound hot dog was firm and juicy, but it had no snap, grill marks, char, or smoky flavor. It tasted like it had probably been heated in water rather than grilled. The chili appeared to be homemade and had plenty of ground beef, which I appreciated, but it was very mild and could have used more seasoning and depth. The cheese was standard shredded cheddar, and the onions were fresh, although diced a little larger than I prefer on a hot dog. The mustard was well distributed and actually added some much-needed flavor. The bun was warm and held together surprisingly well, especially considering the size of the dog. My biggest issue was the proportion. The quarter-pound dog pretty much consumed the bun, leaving very little room for the chili, cheese, and onions. Bigger isn't necessarily better when it throws off the balance of the whole thing. Service was great. The lady working the truck was very friendly and helpful. As far as ambience goes, it's an outdoor food truck, but there are shaded picnic tables where you can sit and look out over the ocean. That's a pretty hard view to complain about while eating a hot dog. Nothing about the food was bad. It was a solid, filling chili cheese dog, but with a little more seasoning in the chili and some char or snap on the dog, it could have been much better.

The brat was really good, but the hot dog was awesome. It was a full size hot dog and not one of those little cv wieners other places serve. It was plump and juicy; and was made fresh to order. Next time I may just get some chili on top.

Overall overpriced under delivered if you're going to express yourself as a designer dog friendly to owners and pets please acquire a staff that is accommodating to the owner and the pet. I respect that the Inn is historical and would like to preserve the originality and presentation. However, if you're going to offer ,again, dog friendly services, please designated staff member to take care of those people who are traveling with their dogs who are forced to sit outside in the heat so as to expedite their experience and make it easier for wait staff and patron. Just a note I paid $400 to stay here to enjoy the historical part of Apalachicola. Thank you Gibson inn for providing a beautiful place to stay in a bit of history that is no longer present in Florida. Definitely overall not worth what they charge. Actually, if you guys go on, the service is just completely terrible. The roads are always just can't get this a good review overall from my perspective. I think you were traveling without dogs posted with the family. It would be a better experience still very, very overpriced for what you get.

On Thursday evenings, they have a circle of friends get together with free appetizers and live music. Beer, wine, and margaritas are for sale. A nice way to spend a beautiful evening on the island.
