It was a surprise to be able to see essentially the burners cooking tamales beyond the counter. It feels like you walked into their kitchen as you order. The tamale flavors are excellent, texture perfect, moist and a good size. Quite delicious and well done! The women working was a delight to meet, too. There are booths to dine. Finally, the tamale craze if Sofia's has hit us near home. You have to try the tamales verses as i believe this will be the mother of all mother tamales here. Not only are they made fresh, but you can taste the ingredients as they were meant to taste. We've been waiting for them to land and they have. And I have to admit, they are as equal to grandmas tamales. I didn't think i should ever say that but it is defintley equal to the taste. I just hope they can keep this momentum going as many times, after a short stint and being comfortable with the customer base, many tend to lack and just ween off the freshness. Well, if they know better they will continue the taste and freshness of the tamale. After all. It's a sacred thing around here so let's make sure it stays this way. read more

Tried this place out for the first time. Guess they been here for a year now. So I got half dozen, green, red and frijole. Green tamales were good, good flavor, not dry but sweet. Green tamales should be more spicy than the rest ones but in this case they weren't. They were sweet. Red tamales were good. They do have a good spice to it. But they were a lil bit on the greasy side but had a flavor. I'll come back to this place for more tamales. Crossing my fingers that the next time green ones are actually spicy . read more

I have to update my first review, the first and second time i visited this place the champurado tasted so delicious. But the 3rd time I visited this morning was an absolute waste of money. As all other restaurants as soon as they start selling they get greedy and start cutting corners. Instead of having authentic champurado on burner they now keep it warm in a machine it takes all the good flavor no taste because all the good stuff obviously is at the bottom and there is no way they could stir the flavors together and because of that its no longer my favorite place for champurado. I wanted to be wowed by their tamales but they were just ok. The service was good and they even have parking so that's a plus but maybe I'm used to the greasy goodness of Manolos and rosas tamales I'm not sure but yes they were just oK. The meat had good flavor and the sauce was good but the masa was bland. I also tried the bean and cheese and yes I was not Impressed. Maybe I will check them out later to see if their product has improved but as of rIght now it's s a big no. read more

Very convenient for anytime cravings.They have a parking lot and you can walk in, choose your tamales and get back on your way. Easy in and out experience. My favorite tamal is oaxaqueño! But of course they have the classics, pork, chicken, cheese and sweet. read more

The tamales are good. Complaint is that I ordered 6 dozen tamales for Christmas Eve - 2 dozens each of chicken, pork and bean with cheese. Which was pricey. I picked up early because they were closing early and I worked that day. Restaurant was empty when I got there at 7am. The girl verbally confirmed what I ordered.. My order was prepared while I waited. When I got to our gathering I noticed I didn't get what I ordered. I had the full 2 dozen of chicken. But only a few pork tamales and the rest were rajas (jalapeño and cheese). Which no one ate. The kids were unable to have any as the bean and cheese were for them. Very disappointing and a waste of $70 (the total for 4 dozen that came wrong). Beware if you are placing a big order. read more

I didn't take pictures because my phone was dead and i was on my way to work but man I wish I did . So I heard this place was good(word of mouth) so I went yesterday to buy a dozen tamales. Original price $16 w tax $18 (overpriced) . Let me tell u this place is a SCAM there was no meat in the tamales no sauce!!!! Nothing!!!! Worst place to consider buying tamales. I just paid almost $20 for just masa!!! Lol . The raja ones had no cheese just 2 pieces of jalapenos the red ones had only 2 pieces of meat and the green ones well I didn't get that far (I threw them away) no one liked them not my kids not my husband . I'm sorry but I really don't think u should charge ppl 18 for a dozen to only give them pure masa. Shame I won't come back.. 1st impression is everything. Sorry. read more
