Thank you for your service. It is a challenge to find a competent and caring GP, and it's particularly difficult to find someone with whom you can really work in a partnership. read more

My doctor here is Dr Ken Koh and he's been amazing. Cannot tell you how many doctors I went to…read morebefore I found one that I felt confident in and felt reliable in seeing about health issues or prescription refills. I once went to a doctor that prescribed me anti-histamines when I had pneumonia. As a result I got asthma, and I've been very cautious about choosing a cheap, bulk-billed doctor. Central Brunswick Centre is not bulk-billed, but it is rebated by Medicare, so your average cost for a consultation is about $30. The staff are super friendly and you don't have to wait too long when you book an appointment. When it comes to your health you can never be too careful but I wouldn't trust anywhere else.
This medical centre is fantastic, and smack bang on the border between New Farm and Fortitude…read moreValley. Central Brunswick Medical Centre is gay friendly, and the majority of doctors are gay themselves. So a lot of the LGBT community are patients here and can get sexual advice and check ups in a comfortable environment. I'm straight but I come here because the doctors, receptionists and facilities are amazing. I've been to a few doctors here. Ken Koh is very helpful, and when I left the appointment he even called me on his private office line to double check whether or not I'd had certain vaccines. Fiona Bishop is fantastic, and is always on high demand. When I first wanted to come to this clinic she wasn't taking on any new patients, but six months later I somehow managed to weasel my way onto her regular patient's list. She's compassionate, but firm, and made me piss myself when I walked in with a nasty virus and she spent our entire consultation with a face mask on. (I was very contagious.) James Kennedy is a sweetheart and has a lovely Irish accent that will make you forget all of your ails. The nurse is also incredibly kind and considerate. My ears get blocked often so I come here to get them flushed out. Having water flushed into your middle ear isn't exactly pleasant and can leave you feeling nauseous, so the nurse sat and chatted with me while the room stopped spinning. Some important things to note: - You're able to claim most of the bill back through medicare, and the ladies at reception can help you set things up so those returns are paid directly to your account. - There's a pathology clinic down the hall so you can get your tests done in one hit. - If you're catching public transport, this place can be a bit difficult to find. Walk past Grill'd, then past Video Ezy, walk up two flights of stairs and it's straight ahead on your left.

How often have you gone into your local Doctors surgery to be greeted by FREE wifi and iPads…read moreavailable for patient use while they wait? Doctors @ Teneriffe have upped the GP game. Being a "regular" patient there (it's 100 meters from my front door) I can book appointments online and request which doctor I would like to see. They have ample free parking space in an enclosed, secure carpark off the road which also has entry into the building. With a professional team of medical experts I feel very comfortable coming here with any medical concern. I have personally seen Dr Dora Lee, Dr Fiona McGrath and Dr Karenne Walde. All are very professional in their bedside manner and all of them record information about my visits in their internal patient records so the next person to see me has all of my background. They offer skin cancer analysis as well as travel medicine. I am so pleased it's my local GP and I can't see myself booking in anywhere else.

I first started going to MGPC when the bulk-booking clinic down the road was all booked out one day…read morewhen I was legitimately sick. This was back when I was a bit poorer, but MGPC taught me quickly that paying for consultations was worth it when the service provided was so, so much better. For general consultations I highly recommend Dr Kratzing, Dr Butcher (slightly alarming surname for a doctor but give him, his English accent and his monobrow a chance), and Dr Gilbert . For general consultations and lady business (because I am a girl and feel weird talking to boys about girl things), I highly recommend Dr Featherstone and Dr Munro. I'm not super picky with my doctors, so I'll generally book an appointment at a time that's most convenient for me rather than for a specific doctor, but in all my time going to MGPC I've only seen a couple of doctors I didn't gel with. Like all clinics, you may find yourself having to sit around for a while - I usually call up to check how far behind a doctor is running before I get in the car, but still end up waiting for at least one appointment ahead of me. I think the longest I've waited is around 45mins, but that was a once-off - 15-20mins is more standard. The waiting room has plenty of trashy magazines available for reading, and it's large enough that you can generally get cosy in a corner without feeling like you're playing a game of sardines (though during flu season it can still get pretty full in there). I've lived in a few different suburbs of Brisbane over the years, both near to and far from MGPC, but I'm very happy with the standard at MGPC and will continue to be a client no matter where in Brisbane I live.
Ohhhhhh Morningside! How I love thee! This GP is hands down…read moregreat service. My recommendation: Dr Munro. Always professional, understanding and damn honest. As for reception staff- they're lovely! The place is clean, easy to find, next to an S&N/ M&L (blood test places) .. Conveniently near the train station and a bus station. Doctors are hard to give reviews about because i'm sure you don't want to hear about my throat infection.. all in all. My doctor for all things health related. 3 years coming and i'm a true Morningside GP lover. Get in there, get a checkup and enjoy the treats of Morningside.

I have been here a handful of times already from a prescription repeat through to post-travel sickness. Each time I have been seen by Dr Rayar and he has been lovely. He is knowledgeable and doesn't rush you. He is not very smiley so I make it my goal to make him chuckle at my weirdness every time I see him. The front desk staff are always super nice, the surgery is new and clean, I always get an appointment quickly. They bulk bill! And the best feature of all of that you can book your appointment online. It is amazing, why don't all surgeries do this?? So if I am feeling sick at 7pm at night, I don't have to wait til 8.30am to call and hope to get an appointment, I just book it online!

And when that point comes you want them to be great. I feel pretty confident I've found that in the team at Market Street Medical. I mean, when was the last time your doctor called you to say your doctor was running late to save you sitting in the waiting room for 30-40mins? Sure, it throws your day out but at least you can do something else in those 30-40mins rather than sit captive reading Country Style or House & Garden. I waited several months to see Dr Maintsone (she's that much of a rockstar she has a hefty waiting list) after recommendation from a friend who, with similar plights to my own, sung her praises. After the first visit with Dr Mainstone I understood why. She's considerate, understanding and sees issues as pieces of a greater puzzle. I feel she's genuinely interested in the health of her patients and I appreciate her commitment to looking at the bigger picture rather than always reaching for a quick fix. It is because of Dr Mainstone I was able, towards the end of 2013, gain some closure and context around a few medical issues and finally not feel like I was the crazy one for talking of such symptoms. They are more expensive than other GPs I've visited and I personally am okay with this for the level of treatment and attention I receive. They process your Medicare claim online in the practice and you'll be amazed how fast that money is back in your piggy bank.
