My doctor here is Dr Ken Koh and he's been amazing. Cannot tell you how many doctors I went to before I found one that I felt confident in and felt reliable in seeing about health issues or prescription refills. I once went to a doctor that prescribed me anti-histamines when I had pneumonia. As a result I got asthma, and I've been very cautious about choosing a cheap, bulk-billed doctor. Central Brunswick Centre is not bulk-billed, but it is rebated by Medicare, so your average cost for a consultation is about $30. The staff are super friendly and you don't have to wait too long when you book an appointment. When it comes to your health you can never be too careful but I wouldn't trust anywhere else. read more

This medical centre is fantastic, and smack bang on the border between New Farm and Fortitude Valley. Central Brunswick Medical Centre is gay friendly, and the majority of doctors are gay themselves. So a lot of the LGBT community are patients here and can get sexual advice and check ups in a comfortable environment. I'm straight but I come here because the doctors, receptionists and facilities are amazing. I've been to a few doctors here. Ken Koh is very helpful, and when I left the appointment he even called me on his private office line to double check whether or not I'd had certain vaccines. Fiona Bishop is fantastic, and is always on high demand. When I first wanted to come to this clinic she wasn't taking on any new patients, but six months later I somehow managed to weasel my way onto her regular patient's list. She's compassionate, but firm, and made me piss myself when I walked in with a nasty virus and she spent our entire consultation with a face mask on. (I was very contagious.) James Kennedy is a sweetheart and has a lovely Irish accent that will make you forget all of your ails. The nurse is also incredibly kind and considerate. My ears get blocked often so I come here to get them flushed out. Having water flushed into your middle ear isn't exactly pleasant and can leave you feeling nauseous, so the nurse sat and chatted with me while the room stopped spinning. Some important things to note: - You're able to claim most of the bill back through medicare, and the ladies at reception can help you set things up so those returns are paid directly to your account. - There's a pathology clinic down the hall so you can get your tests done in one hit. - If you're catching public transport, this place can be a bit difficult to find. Finding a new doctor in a new place is hard. I found this surgery easily and was attracted by their bulk bill status in the first place. I was able to get an appointment on the day which I was happy about. Parking was easy - and free. Total bonus. I was greeted by friendly reception staff. The form I had to fill in which was super easy and I sat and waited (I was early) in the super clean waiting area. I went in at exactly 2pm (this is unheard of, anywhere, I am sure) and was out quickly. My doctor was nice, calm, understanding, and easy to talk to. I booked my follow up appointment quickly and got a time that suited me. Have definitely found my new doctor. read more

Went here two weeks ago. I didn't know that this doctor was here. I used to go to the Valley Station Medical Centre in the train station but I grew tired of waiting long times for my appointment even though I arrived on time and the busy, rushed nature of the clinic. The staff there have never been overly friendly, nor the doctors. I actually got lost and was running five minutes late. I made it to the car park on time but couldn't find the doctors entrance. I was walking around for almost 15 minutes. The doctors are upstairs and located next to the psychologist. There is a separate car park next to the doctors. I had parked in the lower car park. The clinic was clean and the receptionist lovely. I was seen in fifteen minutes. Dr W Mailk was helpful and patient. I received my prescription and walked down the stairs to the nearby chemist. I will definitely comeback here again. There weren't many patients and the clinic had a more relaxed style compared to other doctors in the valley and city. read more
