There were many photo opportunities and lots of demonstrations as well. The sales people worked for the store and there was no pressure at all. We were there a little under an hour and discovered many new items. Our kids really enjoyed the lego and Wicked themed areas. There is also a cotton candy machine where you can watch it being made through the glass, all automated. We somehow left without purchasing anything due to our inability to take it back home.

Toys are easy to see and are all easy to reach. Everything is competitively priced and compares favourably with Argos and Woolworth. Parking is a bit difficult and I found it best to park down a side road and walk back to the shop. My children particularly like the stocking filler type toys starting from around 20p. A lovely place to brows. The shop specialises in Lego, Playmobil, Sylvanian Families, Thomas and Friends and more.

It has everything and I MEAN EVERYTHING!!! Toys are separated by brand and have huge displays to boot!! Thomas the tank engine and Ben 10 battle for shop floor supremacy. I have had a couple of strange episodes in here... 1) The first time, me and another dad happened to wonder into the WWE section and struck up a conversation about Wrestlemania 6 as we shifted through the 'classic' figures in search of Ric Flair. Another customer informed us that a few kids where waiting to have a look for Triple H and Rock dolls.. WHOOPS. I moved on quickly... 2) Last Christmas eve, I was sent out by the wife to pick up a Zingzilla doll. It was 6 in the evening and i was moody to say the least. On entering the premises a couple of 'refreshed' Aussie chaps threw a rugby ball at me. We proceeded to have inproptu game. I was collared by the store manager who informed me whilst laughing his head off "theres kids here, could be a bit dangerous"... I bought the monkey. Outside I tripped on the horrible ice. It was a bad fall. The Aussies who were loitering in the car park helped me up as; and I quote "Yer getting raped by a monkey".. They helped me to a bus stop. My boy never even played with the damn thing after all that. My arm has never been the same since... It has it all. It loses a star as it can be a bit pricey. The staff are clued up and enjoy drunken yobs playing rugby.

The shop is always well stocked with a variety of childrens toys, including some you are unlikely to find in many supermarkets. Reasonably priced, this would be the ideal place to purchase a child's Christmas present. How the shop survives the rest of the year I do not know, but it always seems to be fairly bustling, so I suggest combining a visit with a trip to Waitrose or something. It's not worth heading in to town for a visit alone, but be sure to bear it in mind.

Run, don't walk to shop here. It is so worth it. My husband and I went in seeking a game that our daughter could not find that is from Denmark that our granddaughter had played and loved. While the store owner did not have it, she happened to be going to Denmark. On her own time, she made a special effort to find it, and bring it back in time for us to get to our granddaughter by Christmas. When you find that kind of dedication to a child's joy, it tells you a lot about what a great place it is to shop.

She loves everything about the place - great selection of JellyCats, super toddler toys and even some educational gifts for my older niece. Excellent inventory and they are always bringing in new toys, so it never gets old. The current owner Jenny is really wonderful. My daughter was playing with a Peppa Pig backpack but it was a bit too big for her, so Jenny got her a Peppa Pig handbag she wears the whole time now. She's great; really cares about the kids and the parents. I absolutely love Happy Returns!!

They have a great selection covering board games, RPGs (including some wonderful indie titles as well as a lot of D&D), tactics games, and hobby supplies. I had a lovely conversation with Winter while I killed time before a show. I own a game store in the US and they gave me lots of ideas for new things to try! There was a great mix of popular titles and more niche ones, all at reasonable prices.
