For example, 6 rides costs $25.00; 14 rides for $50.00; and for $75.00 you can pre-purchase 25 rides. We got the basic package (blue) for my ten year old and 13 of his friends for a birthday. We only stayed about 2 hours and for the blue pass that seemed like plenty. The kids got to do bumper cars, the battle area (like laser tag but with foam balls), the slides, the ball pit, the jumping area, and a few others I'm sure I'm forgetting. All in all the spot is clean, staffed well and a fun kids entertainment spot. We didn't do the zip lining or ropes courses but we didn't feel like we missed out on anything either.

These tickets are so hard to get! They were available online on 10/01, and I forgot to check right…read moreat opening time. Later that evening, all the weekend tickets were already sold out. I had to go solo with my son on a weekday morning since the options were limited. Surprisingly, the train wasn't completely full. There were about 4-5 rows that were empty because people no-showed. I didn't want to run into the hassle of finding parking and then walking a long distance to North Pole Express. We parked at the Grapevine Library located at 1201 Municipal Way for free shuttle service. The parking lot was clearly marked, so you won't miss it. Once the shuttle dropped us off, we just had to walk a short distance and cross the railroad track right into the boarding zone. There were different vendors leading up to the boarding area. The line to take pictures with Santa at the General Store filled up quickly. Luckily, we arrived early so it was quite a short wait. We received 1 free complimentary printed photo. I was a little disappointed that the carousel was not up and running before and after our ride. At least they had cute photo-ops with a huge bear, gnomes, etc. Mrs. Clause did a great job making us feel welcomed. She said hello to my son, and even waved bye to us while we were on the train. The chocolate cookie from Mrs. Clause was soft and delicious. You know it's good when my son ate the entire thing. The hot chocolate provided was actually cold chocolate milk. Make sure to bring water because they don't give you a lot of liquid for hydration after downing the cookie. Since our ride was at 10am, the sun rays were bearing down on us. It would probably be more magical if it was in the evening to see the Christmas lights better. The elves did their best to sing and entertain, but my son was not paying attention whatsoever. His favorite part was the fake snow that drifted down as we exited the train. Overall, I expected a little more out of this given that it's so popular and hard to get tickets. This is definitely a fun experience for kids to dress up in cute holiday attire, but pretty boring for the adults. The joy is in watching the kiddos have fun and capture some beautiful memories.

At $50 per person with tickets sold in pairs (2 people per bench), we had to pay for 12 tickets even though we only had 11 people. This was a huge disappointment and absolutely not worth the cost. The problems started immediately in the holding area. They packed us into an overcrowded space with blaring music and overwhelming lights that sent our 2-year-old and nephews into complete sensory overload. To make it worse, the performer who came out to sing Christmas songs literally forgot the lyrics mid-performance. Not a great first impression. Once we boarded the train, things improved slightly. The staff was friendly and the train itself looked nice. However, the onboard performance had horrible audio issues. The sound was so staticky we could barely understand what the performers were saying. The male performer deserves credit for being funny and engaging with the kids despite the technical problems. The female performer seemed exhausted and didn't bring much energy. Santa was fine. But the "scenic route" was a joke. Instead of Christmas lights or festive displays, we got to watch a park soccer game, warehouse loading docks, and trailer deliveries. Really magical. Bottom line: Don't waste $600+ on this. For that kind of money, you expect quality production, good sound, crowd control, and an actual scenic experience. This delivered on none of those. The attraction needs major improvements in technical equipment, crowd management, and route planning before it can justify charging these prices. There are plenty of other Christmas experiences in the DFW area that will give you way more value for your money.

The splash pad is surrounded by a chain link fence... never a great sign. That being said, the splash pad itself is pretty fun. It wasn't the largest splash pad I've been too, but it also wasn't the smallest, and there were many different water features to frolick in. Texas is HOT and I support all efforts to promote outdoor play for children. It made me happy to see a bunch of kids running around in the water having a great time, burning off energy and enjoying the outdoors. The big negative for this splash pad - aside from the restroom accommodations - is that the water shuts off every 30 minutes for a 15 minute break. There might be a good reason for the break, but somehow most splash pads in DFW have found a solution to whatever problem has presented itself in terms of water usage. Shutting off the water and leaving kids sitting on hot concrete in the oppressive afternoon sun for 15 minutes every half hour is unreasonable. This issue needs to be addressed. The park beyond the play ground and splash pad actually looked quite nice. Lots of trees, anyway. I don't think those roads have been paved in 40 years though. With housing prices going up and property tax revenue flowing in, it might not be a bad idea for the city of Fort Worth to throw a little money toward the Sycamore Community Center Park (and Splash Pad). At least find a way to keep the water flowing.

They check your bags/cooler and scan your tickets, then let you go about your day. My friend and I split the cost of a shaded Splash Picnic spot just to make sure our older kiddos had a landing base to re-up on snacks and drinks. Our name was printed on the reserved spot making it officially ours! It is SUPER cool they allowed our own cooler with ice packs, although it would've been a tiny bit more amazing to sip on a girlie marg. I sent my friend on a scavenger hunt to see if they sell any type of alcohol of any kind and turned up empty, just as a heads up to others who may wonder too. While I mostly stayed in the toddler swimming hole and kiddie water slides, and shuffled over to try out the wave pool, my oldest told me about the Lazy River on the other side. She also told me about her "losing her soul" on the dropout slide ha! She had fun, but it took her breath away for sure. Bathrooms are air conditioned. Parking was ample, shade was more plentiful than Hawaiian Falls, and you can reserve seats online if you don't want to risk not having a spot. Overall, a fun family-friendly space to have a good time outdoors!

NRH2O isn't nearly as big as Hurricane Harbor, but I prefer it for several reasons. For one, there are quite a few trees and grassy areas all throughout the park, providing shade and cooler grounds and all around cooler, happier vibes. Plus, tickets and passes are more affordable, and perhaps most importantly (especially to anyone with special dietary needs): you're allowed to bring in your own food and drink. Of course there are limitations on ice chest size and you can't bring in glass containers or alcohol, but it's so nice to be able to pack your own snacks and drinks. Not in loose ice, though, that's another rule. Your ice has to be bagged up (we just use ice-packs). Employees check through your bags very thoroughly at the entrance. I haven't been on any of the bigger slides in years, I now stick to the kiddie-spaces or the lazy river. I was in the wave pool recently with my niece and didn't have as much fun as I remember having when I was younger, haha. The park overall is pretty clean and well-maintained. Nothing looks like it desperately needs refurbished or sanitized! There are I believe 3 different "restaurants" onsite and then a handful of drink and dessert stands. You can find aaaall of your theme park favorites: hot dogs, corn dogs, burgers, chicken tenders, fries, nachos, quesadillas, pizza, pretzels, cotton candy, chips, kettle corn, etc. There's also frozen lemonade, dippin' dots ice cream, and a churro food truck onsite! You'll have a great time at NRH2O if it's not ridiculously crowded and you're able to find yourself a little home-base with shade. You can reserve canopies and tables online, but they go fast!

I've been here a handful of times with my sweet baby and we've walked all around the property. Each amenity is well designed, maintained, and landscaped. I like coming here because it's clean and close, and while it's never felt overcrowded it's still busy enough to feel safe. Here's what you'll find: BMX Trail League Fields (baseball, soccer) Practice Fields Concessions (during certain events) Natural Area Playgrounds Picnic Areas with picnic tables Grills Restrooms 2 Pavilions (large, concrete, covered, capacity of 40 each) The playgrounds and picnic tables have plenty of shade, which is a necessity. The playgrounds are pretty fun -- I'd have loved them as a kid with all the bridges, monkey bars, and swings. There's even a giant swing, this oversized red plastic seat that little kids all squeeze on together. It's also fun for family selfie photo sessions. Come here for a leisurely park visit. Bring lunch and a blanket and a book. Maybe a baby.

There is a nice sized pavilion with picnic benches under it off to the side and a large grassy area behind that. The park is surrounded by mature trees, but unfortunately the area right around the playground was cleared out so there is no shade on the structure aside from two small canopies (which cover only a portion of the play structure). There is only one bench for the mamas and it's in full sun as well. I wouldn't recommend this park in the heat and sun of the summer, but on a cool or cloudy day, it's a fun playground to add to your rotation.
