Great racetrack in Alabama. It's over two and a half miles so prepare for a walk from the parking to your seat. They funnel traffic e pretty well considering the amount of people who attend. When in the stands you have a beautiful view of the track and the hills in the distance. Beautiful to see. Getting concessions is surprisingly quick and the lines are not near as long as other racetracks. Maybe it's because of the size and the vast amount of service available. Horrible place to see a race. You pay for pit passes. But you meet no drivers. Kyle Larson didnt show up for his autograph signing. Was on pit road, where I paid to go. Some security guy tried grabbing me cause I wanted a pic of my favorite drivers car. If I hadn't caught his hand and he would've shoved me ,there would've been bad issues out there. The most expensive seats dont have cup holders but the cheapest seats do. Overpriced. Especially for such a nasty venue. By the 2nd day there's food and trash everywhere. Even your seats. Wont be back. They overhyped the whole experience. Dont waste money here. Darlington is way better. read more

This is our second season attending the NASCAR race at Talladega. We decided this year to stay in the campgrounds and get a real feel for the full experience. Several areas to choose from with tons of space and amenities. The garage experience was interesting but for me personally a one time experience was good enough. The Loves RV Stop 225 Truck race was both interesting and exciting to watch. Thankfully even though there were a couple of incidents no injuries were sustained. The people, the atmosphere and just all around vibe made it a great day. We're here til Sunday and looking forward to the rodeo tonight. My reason for giving only 4 stars is this is a huge facility with tons of folks trying to find their way around and the staff is really not prepared or know enough about the facility to help. Waited almost an hour in line for the one service line to get fried chicken tenders and fries for $12. Why, why, don't you have other options? Medical services (5/5): We ended up having a minor medical emergency here and I called the Speedway. They sent an ambulance to our parking lot (we paid $50 here for VIP Parking for the day, which was worth it since it was close to the track.) The people were really friendly and ended up driving my hubby to the infield medical center. They were really kind to him. read more

Even with no race happening you can drive in the huge parking area and see the track. The size of it and the surrounding parking, camping and concession area is mind blowing. We had no trouble getting in or out. Can imagine the craziness on an event day. read more

Awesome....awesome...racetrack. A buddy and I decided to check this out since it was a bucketlist item. This track is huge. Not to mention the camping all around it. We stayed at a hotel about an hour away, but next time I'm going to looking at stay at the campground at the track for the weekend. The race was action packed and the fans fun. The only issue were the lines. Not everything was opened since the track is not yet at full capacity. If you haven't been, check it out! read more

We had a great time at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend. Even though it was rained out, it was a great experience. We were able to visit our friends at their campsite. The restroom facility in the family camping area near turn one was very clean. I told the attendants I was super impressed with them. They were so friendly! It was our first time at Talladega and the property can be overwhelming. My only suggestion would be to mark the roads better with signs. I can't wait to go back!!! read more

This was my first ever NASCAR event. I am not a fan but went with some friends who are. Well... this place is awesome! It was so exciting to see cars racing by at 200MPH. The sound of the engines, the excitement of the crowd and the smell of burning oil was really exhilarating. I would definitely go again. Traffic going into the speedway was not bad. We got in quick and easy. Parking was free and the walk wasn't bad. There are vendors set up all over and there are plenty of free handouts. You can buy food and drinks every 50 feet or so. The stadium is huge! The track is somewhere around 2.6 miles around. The pits are awesome. Pay extra for the pass and go down there and check everything out. The stands are huge! Make sure you sit up high in one of the towers so you can see everything. The seats do fill up. I don't know where everyone comes from but every seat is taken. Which leads to the problem...leaving. Be prepared to wait to get out of there. The traffic is terrible leaving. Just be prepared for it. SUPER TIP- Wear sunscreen and a hat! I didn't and suffered. read more

Fanfückingtastic! Went for the Talladega 500, stayed all day and partied all night at the free RV/camp area across from the track. Beers are reasonable at about $13 for a 40 oz, plenty of food vendors to go round tho, lines for both get pretty long especially during yellow flag laps but, that's expected. Get there early because the party starts on Thursday. The campground is unofficially separated between the college ages, 30 something's and then the quieter older crowd. Definitely skip the last two unless you just want to relax. College area is where it's at, shots kegs and drinking games galore. There's so much low key debauchery, you'd have to be dead not to get some fun in. Race day is ridiculous! The roar of the crowd is almost enough to overpower the roar of the engine as they fly past 4 wide and at 196 mph. Do bring sunblock if you're prone to burn easily because those stands get plenty of sunshine. It's an experience for sure! 100% recommend going at least once. read more

They have this thing down to a science. Traffic getting into and leaving was almost pleasant. The police were very tolerant and patient with the throngs of drivers in the grounds and on the road. The facility is HUGE and they had plenty of people to assist you to your section and seat. More importantly they are super friendly, hell EVERYONE here is friendly. We found out this out first hand with complete strangers offering us their own beer. Abundant food and plenty of rest rooms ( beer for some reason goes thru you fast). A 3 star rating to Mecca for NASCAR fans will probably get me banned from the entire state of Alabama. I'm fine with that because if I hear " Roll Tide" one more damn time I'm libel to go postal. Although I will miss Gulf Shores....but I digress. I want to start by stating I am not a NASCAR fan, nothing against it just don't usually care. I know who the main drivers are and have seen parts of races but that's about it. A friend of a friend was talking about Talladega at a party about a year ago and we decided we all should go. The friend of a friend made all the arrangements so we packed up the RV and 5 of us set sail for Redneck Paradise. We stayed at one of the pay campgrounds just outside the track. The campground was fine but this was our 1st mistake. We should have stayed in the infield. The infield is where the party is at but more on that to come. We arrived late Thursday night and we were told that since it was past 11, it was "quiet hours" in the campground. WTF!?!? I came here for crazy redneck games not to sing Kum Ba Yah around the campfire. Friday we were awaken around 9 by our host who informed us we had to get ready because we had to get to the track. Wait what? I want to sleep in and get drunk until race day....but I'm going with the flow. We walked around outside of the track for 2 hours looking at NASCAR apparel. I did get to ride in bumper cars for free like a little kid but they didn't let me bring my beer. I wanted to be drunk Dale Jr. but I settled for buzzed Dale Jr. We then sat in the hot sun and watched practice. PRACTICE?!?!We talking bout practice?!? I sat there for 2 hours while our host appeared to have an almost sexual pleasure from the sounds of cars rolling around the track. We left to drink at the campground and then the partying began. Nothing to crazy just drinking in the campground. Saturday was the truck race and qualifying. The truck race was boring as it ended on a caution and I didn't know any of the drivers. NASCAR qualifying resumed right after but we left to go back to camp at that point. Drunken shenanigans began. 1 guy passed out before 7 pm before we headed to the infield for the real party. They had crazy hillbillies in line at the tram to go through the tunnel chanting "USA! USA! USA!" and "F YOU ISIS" I started to get worried that I was being tricked and being sent to the Middle East to fight. Instead I sent into a swarm of drunks...my people! Talladega Blvd was like Redneck Mardi Gras and Spring Break all rolled into one. They had a free country concert going on that people seemed to enjoy. I even enjoyed it but that's the alcohol talking. I don't recall much more until the next day. Sunday was race day and NASCAR finally had me. I was into the race, watching Earnhardt Jr.dominate, screw up and work his way back to the front. With only 2 laps to go and Earnhardt in 2nd you knew he was going to win. Then another driver wrecks on purpose to end the race. It was terrible. It was like watching the Sopranos ending. WTF just happened!?!?! My experience was 3 stars but could have been better. Next time I know what to do and it won't be watching practice and hanging in the "quiet hours" camp. Oh NASCAR fix that crap with only one GWC....you would have had a new fan. read more

It's more than a race, it's TALLADEGA! My first NASCAR experience was the 2018 fall meet. This was the first time I've been to an event where you can bring your own food and drink, including alcohol, into a venue. There are some limitations which they do enforce, but a cooler of beer and some chips and jerky will save you a lot of money. As far as the experience, these are true fans. People camp out for days to be part of Dega. I stayed in Pell City which was a short drive from the track. We tailgated all day Saturday for the truck race and all day Sunday for the Big One. Tailgate at the campground was awesome. The people were amazing. Everyone offers food, alcohol, friendliness. It was great. As a person with a disability, they could improve their handicap services. While they do exist (which is awesome), they are far from perfect. It is very difficult for people who have walking difficulties to navigate from the camp grounds to the track, not to mention from the main entrance to their seats. All in all, this event is a must attend for any NASCAR fan. I'll probably be back for the tailgate and the party, but watching cars go round and round for a few hours isn't my cup of tea. Give me some beers and good company, and that is all I need for a party. DEGA WASTED! read more

Great place to experience NASCAR. Wonderful friendly southern hospitality and great fun courteous fans. Food choices were pretty blah and limited offering the usual concession stand foods like hot dogs, pizza, burgers etc. There was an Arbys stand I bought a turkey wrap for $7.00 (very reasonably priced!) it was fresh and good. Beer was reasonable at $7.00 for a 24 oz.(might have been bigger?!?) But know no matter how old you are the young employees will card you so make sure you bring ID with you. I was surprised to see they allowed you to bring in coolers and drinks including beer!! But check website for restrictions on types of coolers allowed as well as type of containers you can bring in. I'm sure you can't bring glass bottles. The stands were packed with fans having a great time. Plenty of clean restrooms. Lots of RVs camping out having a great time. $20.00 gets you preferred day parking close to entrance gates otherwise parking is free and you walk or take the free shuttle to the entrance gate. Parking is on grass. If it rains the lot will be muddy so be prepared. Parking lot was pretty easy to enter and exit but if you get there late you may have to take some extra time to find a parking spot even in the preferred parking lot. Right in front of the entrance gates there were vendors where you can walk around before the race to drink, eat and shop. If you love Nascar this is the place to be. The Talladega staff we dealt with on the phone to purchase our tickets were very super nice and really went the extra mile to ensure my husband got the seats he would be comfortable with. Our seats were individual and had more room than your average Nascar seat elsewhere. We are tall and were very comfortable. Know the cars are very very loud so bring ear plugs especially if you have young kids and/or sitting in the lower stands (trust me!). Talladega is a must for NASCAR fans. And again the fans here are the best!! read more

As I watched the race on t.v. over the weekend I was reminded of how hospitable, Nascar and the speedway were during IRMA. They opened their camping area to evacuees free of charge which would have been enough. In the end, the people of Alabama and the staff of the track, from it's president to their maintenance crew tended to just about every need we had. From food, water and toiletries, to pulled pork sandwiches, and a full tank of gas on our way out. I couldn't have been in a better place under dire circumstances. I can't say enough good things about their hospitality, and though I haven't seen a live race yet, they've won me over and will be back to see a race and return the favor. read more

I had a NASCAR fanatic that has recently gotten into the "sport" that insisted we turn around and visit the Holy Tracks of Motorsports racing. The gates were locks but they were still happy to say they had been to Talladega. I have seen pictures of the park after race weekends so I was actually amazed how clean and silent the parkway was on our visit. It peeked my interest and found myself promising to actually come back in the expensive RV purchased for race weekend. I'm not a fan of crowds so I know my visit will be short. I will be interested to compare the quiet, clean empty track to one full of the tropes of fans I have seen on tv. It's amazing how an experience like this can make one alter their opinions. No disrespect to fans of car racing it's just never peaked my desire until standing outside a empty track. If I'm going to go being a guest of a someone that can spring for a RV showcased on tv for a race weekend is definitely the way to do it. Talladega Sports Track does have magical powers. read more

I can't believe someone hasn't reviewed Talladega Superspeedway yet. Allow me to be the first - and someone please add on to give us all tips on camping, partying, etc! So I got to take my first trip down to Talladega this past week. Due to a lack of generator to go with my camper, I decided to get a hotel/shuttle package in Birmingham. The shuttle drove us right to the Talladega parking lot at around 7:15AM and drove us home after. Nice deal right? Tickets - tickets weren't that expensive and there are tickets in all different price ranges. I paid more the higher price so that I could see the entire track. I was surprised to find myself at almost the tip top of the tower but I definitely could see all the action going on! Organization - people working there didn't seem to 100% know what is going on. I bought Talladega Experience tix and the ushers didn't know if they give you pit access (they did) or where the actual hospitality tents were (outside the track). We spent a lot of needless time wandering around when misled on where to go. Need to get all the staff oriented! Talladega Experience - I paid some extra cash to go to the hospitality tents and also to have a meet/greet with certain drivers. This included food and drink all morning, plus pit passes. Sadly it was POURING rain when we got there so the entire thing was less optimal than it could have been. Cars weren't on pit road, pit boxes were all covered up, drivers just were interviewed on stage with a chick from Speed TV instead of having an opportunity to maybe get something signed, and everyone was soaking wet and huddled in the tents. But that's not the track's fault, just the way it goes with weather. The good thing about this was food (biscuits/gravy, cookies, pork sliders, huge turkey legs, etc - all different things in each booth) and drinks (beer and even full bar in the Crown Royal tent). Cracked my first beer at 9AM, had a vodka soda before 10AM, and generally was feeling good despite the rain! Pre-race was cool but seems less "BIG" than they do it in TX. I guess I shouldn't be surprised about that though since everything (except the track) is bigger in Texas! The actual race was great - huge track, lots of good racing, good scanner reception, fun people sitting around us, and generally awesome! Things I didn't get to experience: camping in the infield or trolling the driver haulers, etc. Want to do both of those next time. Until then a 4 star for putting on a good show and getting everything underway without being too rain-delayed!! read more

I have gone multiple times, and love it sincerely. There are so many crazy people, the cars are so stinking loud, and food and beer is everywhere. This place is awesome especially if u love NASCAR and Camping it's a must go.This was my first visit to Talladega won't be my last either.Ive been to 4 tracks now Michigan,Kansas,Texas,and now Talladega like those other 3 but they don't match Talladega.If u want to experience the true ambiance of NASCAR,Talladega is a must.Huge spacious facility plenty of parking,camping,restrooms,showers,concessions,souvenir stands,u name they got it at Here.Very friendly people,laid back atmosphere,truck driver friendly.I brought my semi here and camped out,(gotta drop your trailer,bobtail only but they fit real good good in the camping spots.Reccomend South Park for both truck drivers and families.Track is very family oriented but would go to South Park with family,it's a safe environment plenty of police patrolling.The racing is great track is huge.The track is an old school place but with modern facilities and plenty of them no waiting in line and easy access to the seats,The higher u sit the better at Talladega.If u camp sit in the area which u camp in.For example South Park is a perfect fit with the Talladega grand stands.Plenty of souvenir tents and concessions.Great food Reccomend fried Oreos.Lots to do at track concerts,camping,race activities.Was there Friday-Monday.The only complaint was the ending of the raced it suck but the track had no control over it.Awesome experience lots of cool people,would go back in a second to just camp alone and I'm not even a big camper,loved it! read more
