Went on a field trip with my boys pre k class. It was so much fun. It was super clean and layer out nicely.

This weekend market is a definite must stop in for either locals or anyone passing through. Local artisans from all sorts of genres from candle soap making, custom pens, and plasma cut signage have booths available during the weekend market. This location has children friendly play areas and so parents can peruse the wide variety of items offered by the vendors.

I went with my boyfriend's family to this family fall festival and I loved it! His family is related to/friends with the Bennetts but even without that connection, it would've been a great experience. I got sweet tea and a tea cake- both were delicious! They have the shed/smokehouse where they were making the tea cakes and frying the pork rinds that you could walk through (and try samples!). The typical fall festival activities, like the hay ride, hay bale maze, pumpkin/gourd shopping, as well as a huge teepee were really fun and family friendly. There was a small stage featuring live music for the afternoon, too. I really enjoyed the petting zoo and the little market area with local handmade goods. I stocked up on a few Christmas gifts while I was there, and the prices were great! Overall, this was such a fun afternoon activity and I can't wait to go back next year.

Sand Mountain Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze - Corn cannon! Shoot corn across the field

In the middle of nowhere, but Sand Mountain Pumpkin Patch/Corn Maze is definitely worth the drive…read more It's very family friendly, and most of the patrons were parents and kids, although this would also be a cute date location for couples. I got "The Works" which includes the corn maze, pumpkin patch (+ pumpkin) and a couple rounds with the corn cannon ($18). I came here for the Corn Maze and I was not disappointed. The maze is huge, and I got lost pretty fast. There's signs throughout the maze with clues. If you pick the right answer to the question on the sign, you'll progress through the maze. If you pick the wrong answer, you'll go in circles. It was fun trying to find our way, but after running into the same two signs 3-4x we decided to pull out our phone GPS to lead us the right way. After that, we finally broke out of the loop and found the exit! (We finished the maze in 1 hour). After that, we got a tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch and picked out a pumpkin to take home. It seemed a little small at first, but there were probably over 100 pumpkins in the little patch. It was a hot day so I went to the concessions stand to purchase a fruit/icy smoothie which was pretty decent (taste/pricing). I loved shooting the corn cannon, and watching the corn fly hundreds of yards across the field. I have terrible aim but it was tons of fun! Overall, I'd definitely recommend planning a visit out here during the fall. The corn maze is very well done and a great way to challenge yourself! Everything here is very cute and reasonably priced, and it's a great way to spend a weekend.

Well, it's closed now for the season but keep this in mind for next year. This family-owned and family-friendly farm is a quick drive from town. Besides families, it also seems popular with college students and couples. Parking is easy and admission is $2 which isn't bad for what you get: access to several pumpkin patches, the corn maze, sunflower picking, farm animal viewing/petting, tractor rides, and amusements for kiddies including a game where you see who can pump water the fastest to float a rubber duckie down a slide. Yes, I had too much fun playing this duck race. I saw hot dogs and lemonade for sale, but nothing pumpkin-related such as pie. I think an opportunity is being missed! Local honey is available for purchase too which is cool. The pumpkins aren't cheap, but then again, you're paying for an experience. I recommend bringing your own shears if you have them since the patch might be all out. The big pumpkins are already detached from the vines but if you want a smaller one, you'll have to snip it yourself. Also, it sounds like Farmer in the Dell will be offering pre-cut Christmas trees during the holidays and will be having peaches next year, so it's not just squashes. Now I have that nursery rhyme in my head. Hi-ho, the derry-o, the farmer in the dell [pumpkin patch]!

They provide school tours and also have wonderful fall activities for the whole family to enjoy. Every time I stop to buy some milk for pets my toddler always wants to pet the cows, say hey to the chickens, wave at Libby the donkey, see the pigs and lambs, and of course pet the little kitten that always comes by to say hi. It's a family owned and operated farm and it feels like that. I ALWAYS recommend this farm to anyone who is looking for a local farm. Thank you for opening your farm to the Public.

We went with our 4 grandkids ages 2-11. There was something for everyone. The kids (and maybe the adults) had fun in the play area sliding, pushing drainage pipes, racing rubber ducks, feeding baby cows, petting animals in the petting area, enjoying a hay ride, walking through the corn maze, and taking family pictures. Attention to details made such a difference. The one time entry price let us do it all. There was a picnic area, clean bathrooms, and easy parking. Employees were very friendly. We had a wonderful time and will be back next October!

Today marked our fourth visit, and my…read morehusband and I have decided we will not return, nor will we allow our children to believe they should accept poor service, especially when we are spending our hard-earned money. We arrived in wonderful spirits, ready to select our Christmas tree, but were met with a cold, unwelcoming atmosphere that, unfortunately, has become familiar. The quiet, passive-aggressive cold-shoulder is loud in its own way, leaving us feeling uncomfortable and unwanted. We have continued coming because our children enjoy the farm, particularly in early to mid-autumn, but this experience sealed our decision. I would genuinely rather drive into the city and sit in traffic than return. To make matters worse, when we visited the animal-feeding area, the attendant shorted our change. After we kindly pointed out the miscalculation, he replied, "Oh, well I don't have any more change." I told him we would simply take additional cups of feed, and he looked at us as though we were unreasonable. Either the math was beyond him, or he assumed we would overpay. Perhaps I am too devoted to my quixotic, Hallmark-inspired hopes for the season, but this experience certainly did not contribute to the holiday warmth we arrived with. I do, however, want to commend the employee who tied our tree onto our SUV. He was the only pleasant member of the staff we encountered. We are happy with the tree itself, but we will now be searching for a new Christmas tree farm. Here's hoping next year brings a lovelier experience. Happy Holidays, everyone.
