Culver City is also a pretty area to walk around and get breakfast at beforehand. You check in at the visitors center inside the parking garage. You will see it on your way in to park. They will then walk you to the sound stage where it is filmed. Make sure to use the restroom, grab snacks and water beforehand. They have a mini museum outside the show. Make sure to look at everything before the show or in between the episodes as you will need to leave once they are done filming. The staff was very friendly and pretty organized. The cast was fairly interactive with the audience as well which was appreciated. Be prepared to clap A LOT. Also make sure not to talk or blurt out the answers to a) not ruin the filming b) to not extremely annoy the people sitting next to you :) You will not get to spin the wheel sadly as they said this damages the wheel over time. Overall definitely worth coming! It was probably a 5 hour experience in total.

It's very organized and everyone is super friendly and professional (and fun). Parking is free. We arrived 1 hour early and were probably 10th in line. There's definitely a lot of standing/waiting/walking so plan accordingly. I was not aware that WOF taped 3 episodes a day (Jeopardy was 2)...so that's a long day if you arrive around 9am (we were let out at 2:00). There is no food/little water/few bathroom breaks during this time. So bring snacks/water/whatever. The staff does warn you 5 million times that this is "your last chance to eat or drink". Then 4 hours later you think "welp, I am hungry and thirsty and need to pee". Vanna is awesome and so is Seacrest; they interact with the audience. There's a merch shop you can buy some fun items. For sure a fun experience to at least do once.

After securing tickets, we received detailed instructions via the 1iota website. We were told to check in two hours prior to the taping, along with guidelines on attire, bag size restrictions, and the strict no-recording policy. They also made it clear that once filming begins, there are no bathroom breaks. If you tend to get cold (like I do), definitely bring a jacket. Attending the taping was a really fun experience. The stage was much smaller than we expected, and we were surprised to learn that the desk and chairs are actually rolled out each night. Overall, it was a memorable highlight of our LA trip, and I'd absolutely recommend it.

Also, because it's been so hot here in LA, they offered us bottled waters. So thoughtful! The temperature inside the studio was perfect, not too hot and not too cold! Keep in mind just FYI if you bring your cellphone, they want you to turn the phone off...like powered off and they give you this phone pouch to stick your phone in, and you leave, they will help you take it out. I was happy we can at least have our phone. They do validate your parking for 4 hours.

Known as the Media Capital of the World, Burbank is where all the studios are located, Disney, Warner Bros, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, NBC, ABC, etc. It's no surprise if you bump into movie personalities in the mall, movies, bank and other business establishments. My neighbors are pretty much in the entertainment industry. You would think considering my location and business connections, you would think I'd been to all the tapings available. On the contrary, I don't. Yes, I've been to Jay Leno once as a VIP guest so I didn't have to line up and I even had a souvenir photo with him. But that was it. Until I got an invite to see Big Bang Theory on 8/21/18. Although my ticket stated to show up at 5pm, I was actually in line at 3:30 although show starts at 6:30. I didn't want to miss my spot because I had a guest who lives out of town. Too late for me to find out that I actually had priority tickets which is basically a guaranteed spot. Oh well! My guest and I had seats 5 and 6 so which were in the second row just behind the staff guests. Our seats were right in front of the famous staircase, on its left is Penny's apartment and in the right is Sheldon's. We were so near that we see the stars up close. On the day of our visit, the entire cast was there along with Kathy Bates and Tyler. It's a pretty cool experience and I'm glad to have attended especially when they announced the next day that BBT is finally ending. The taping we saw is actually going to be the first episode for their final season.

I love the Big Bang Theory; I think it's the greatest show on earth!!…read more However the process though of getting a ticket to the Big Bang Theory is the biggest pain; it's not worth it unless you really really like the show. Tickets are obtained at Audiences Unlimited which does most sitcoms in Hollywood. Their site is easy and quick until you want to get tickets for this show which usually come out Mondays. The problem is that their website sucks on this day. It constantly times out and has web errors assuming from so many people overloading it with requests for this show. It reminds me of trying to call a radio station when they are doing a giveaway or a casting director at Central Casting when they've put a job on their recorded line. You would think Audiences Unlimited would invest in more bandwidth but I assume since it's the only show that does this they don't see the need. So if you want a ticket to this show you really have to be very patient and have nothing to do for a few hours Monday morning. I've been lucky enough to get through twice and both times I've literally spent 2 hours trying to get tickets and these weren't even real tickets but standby tickets. I've never ever seen a regular ticket, I don't know if they even exist. Also you can only request 1 ticket at a time. They say this has something to do with the studio so if you want to go with your friend it's best that both of you do it separately. It's possible to request 1 ticket then go back to do another but you also run the risk of space being gone by the time you are finally able to get through again If you are lucky enough to have snagged a standby ticket pat yourself on the back. It doesn't end here though because there is still a very likely chance you won't get in. It really just depends on how many family and friends VIP tickets they have given out who don't show up. That is what the standby audience is for. The first time I went with a standby ticket I didn't get in and I got there early. The next time I got there really, really early and I was still like the 10th person in line. Though this is all annoying to do this for a ticket you can see really it reflected in the audiences that shows up. The audience at the Big Bang Theory are true, true, loyal, loving fans who are willing to come early and wait a whole day to see the show just like the old days where people would camp out somewhere to get tickets to a rock concert. Most of them are wearing Big Bang Theory shirts, hats, sweatshirts, etc and it's like a little community when you are waiting, kind of like the parking lot at a Grateful Dead concert without all the tie dye and drugs. I'm naturally a little shy in big groups of people but I felt very comfortable and outgoing here. It was easy to mingle with people I guess since everyone shared a common interest. I met 2 girls that said they went every week, I met some foreign tourists that just adored the show and were giddy that they got to go to a 'real Hollywood TV taping', I met a pilot from back East who was attending the taping during a layover between flights. For the taping I would prepare to make it a day production. Bring a book, magazines, snacks,-lots of them, a lawn chair or somewhere to sit comfortably because bench space is limited, bring cards or other games to play with the new friends you'll make. Bring sunscreen, a hat, better yet a small umbrella because part of the parking lot (yes, you are actually in a parking lot waiting) doesn't have shade. It's actually pretty fun as long as you treat it as a day- long event and come prepared. As for the show I was lucky enough to get a seat in the front row which made the experience so much better, I think it would be different if I was in the back rows because you can't see as much. You can tell that this cast and crew of this show were very special. At the end of the taping Kaley and Kunal gave out autographs. They thanked everyone and said that they were happy to be there and were happy to be able to be working in something that they loved. I wish Jim Parsons would have come out but he probably would have gotten mobbed due to Sheldon's popularity. I love this show and felt it was a great experience; I would definitely go again however the whole process would have been the biggest pain in the ass had I not absolutely adored the show.

However, we called a week before and we were confirmed which was very exciting. We arrived almost exactly 45 mins before the time on our ticket and we probably should have come a little earlier. We were towards the back of the line which wasn't a problem at all but we were more towards the back of the audience. However, there are so few seats (~100 I think) that sitting anywhere is great. Free parking in the garage is really cool. You really do feel like a guest of Jeopardy, not like they are doing you a favor for letting you be in the audience (ie the way CBS runs the Price is Right). As for the actual filming, it was actually a really great experience. For each group of people, they film either 2 or 3 shows and each show takes about 28 minutes to tape. The commercial breaks and the breaks between shows is pretty fast. I think we were done at 1pm for our 11am show. What was really surprising is that we never felt bored or like we were waiting too long, everything moved quickly. The actual game was really exciting in person and a lot of fun. It was pretty difficult to not shout out the answers. However, the most exciting part about Jeopardy is Alex Trebek. During all the breaks, he walks over and talks to the audience. Alex is actually really really funny, so much more so than you would ever know by the show. He is really personable and it not fake at all. He is very honest in all of his answers. Someone asked a really good question-"if you could put up a billboard with any message, what would it be?" Alex's answer after about 30 seconds of thought was something to the effect of "Acceptance, not tolerance". It was incredibly profound statement that pretty much sums up how he views the world and who he is. I was not a big fan of Trebek before the show but I gained a new perspective on him and think he is so cool now. Overall, if you are even considering going on Jeopardy, do it! It's well worth it and is a lot of fun.

The application process was easy, I was nervous for check-in but that was easy, every staff member was friendly taking us through the lot, and everything went well for the entire taping. I felt like everything was well organized from start to finish. You receive a lot of information prior telling you the guidelines in terms of what you can bring and how to dress (fancy + no heels). We lined up in an area at Television City (right next to the Grove/Farmers Maket) on the sidewalk, that could potentially be in hot sunlight with no shade but it was hitting just right at my time of day to not be a problem. They're strict about phone use which I'm happy about so no spoilers get out! Security with an ID is done entering the lot, then you wait in an outdoor holding area for varying amounts of time depending on when your filming begins. The Hype Guy and DJ are great in preparing you for the show. We were all laughing, clapping and moving getting excited. The dancers were great, the judges are just the best balance, and the whole show is put together so well! Seeing behind the scenes made me appreciate all the work that SO many crew members put together. Just a fun experience and a cute, wholesome show!
