Terrible service. The clerk didn't even come to the front until we started asking out loud "wonder who we were supposed to pay". She was rude and not at all nice. The store is OVER priced and sold us outdated milk. We paid nearly $4 for 1/2 gallon of expired milk. I wouldn't go back there if I was dying of thirst. $20 for butter, milk, water, and some other small thing. Highway robbery. Terrible, go into Payson or go the other way to Herber, your wallet will thank you! read more

This market is filled with all the basic necessities, including things you might have forgotten before driving to the cooler mountains -- including the makings for s'mores, fishing gear, bait, and campfire accessories, as well as Sharpies for labeling your cups, Aunt Jemima syrup for your campfire French toast and pancakes, Bisquick, bread, buns, milk, hot dogs, juice and beer. They even have fishing poles and fresh coffee (regular and decaf). Their prices are extremely reasonable, and the owners are very helpful and friendly. (The only thing they didn't have was pure maple syrup.) I prefer giving this market my business instead of the Safeway in Payson, plus it's closer for those at Woods Canyon Lake. read more

What a delightful place to stop. We stopped in this morning and were cheerfully greeted by a blonde woman. The store is a small but well stocked with odds and ends one might have forgotten to pack and they even have fishing and camping gear. Oh, and lottery too. The lady working helped us find the item I was looking for and even answered my husband's questions on directions and things to do in the area. We were sincerely thanked after we checked out. We asked if the lady was the owner and we were surprised to hear she wasn't since we had such enthusiastic help from her. read more

It's the only store between Star Valley and Forest Lakes! It has recently undergone some renovations and I think new ownership! We love it now. It's a bit pricey, but beats driving to town. They will also let you drop your garbage for $1.50 a bag!! And to my kids it is known as the candy store!! They beg to go!! Funny what being in the mountains does to you!! Come here with very low expectations and you'll be fine with it. It is walking distance from the Christopher Creek cabins and has 'some' of the things you may have forgotten to bring. There are ingredients for s'mores, beer, wine, liquor, a few toiletries, duraflames, some snack foods, a few frozen foods (pizza, burritos, hotdogs) and minimal meal prep items. The lady behind the counter was beyond friendly. She brought the place from 3 stars to 5. If you come here thinking you can stock a fridge or pantry, you'll be very disappointed. read more

Best country store in all of AZ! If you are passing through Christopher Creek, this is a MUST STOP! It has been a family tradition for us 3 times a year. We go camping in the summer, around the 4th of July the town does a great parade, Tall Pines market is the perfect place to watch from with plenty of parking off the road. In the fall, they have hay ride trick or treating event for the kids (usually the weekend before Halloween) and of course Tall Pines Market is our favorite stop on our way for Christmas Tree cutting in the winter. So many fond memories! They have absolutely everything you need from food to snacks, beer of course, and even seasonal needs like fishing poles, firewood, even sweatshirts. Also, the people/owners are so nice say hello to Mike or Shelia, great people! Oh, and you have to love the "local" atmosphere, it is not uncommon to see a dog come in for a quick pet and a treat from behind the counter... it's those little things you can't get down here in Phoenix that make it worth the stop! read more
