Clean, quaint, close to everything, homey decor, comfortable beds, thoughtful details like a clean fridge, and wonderful, kind owners!

Peggy was horrible to deal with. She charged our credit card for false charges without our notice. This place is a fraud. Be careful

However we weren't too disappointed as we saw Denali the day before on a beautiful clear day while on the road. We stayed in a building below the main lodge. A very short walk. Had to kill two mosquitoes in our room. Talkeetna is actually closer to Denali than Denali Park Village. The property is very nice but our stay very brief. As with Denali Park Village, there's a Northern Lights notification system you can participate in with the front desk. Alas no such luck for us that night. There's a coffee bar and a sit down restaurant. A massive fireplace anchors the hotel lobby. We ate at the Bistro at the lodge twice - dinner and breakfast as our time was brief. There's a hotel courtesy shuttle into town. The last one at 9:45pm. On display is an Alaskan brown bear shot by a 10 year old.

The lodge itself is beautiful with a big open entry with a stone fireplace. There is plenty of seating so you can enjoy the view, warm up by the fire or play games at a table with friends and family. There are water refilling stations, ice machines, laundry machines. We enjoyed the trails around the lodge, which were well maintained. We took advantage of the free shuttle to town that arrives every 30 minutes. The rooms are fine. The couch was pretty torn up and there is no air conditioning- which we didn't need in September. The train does come through around 4:40 AM and wakes you up. Service is friendly enough but nothing special. Food options are decent. We really liked the halibut Reuben at the restaurant.

The room was great-the house was beautiful and well maintained. The oversized windows in the living area provided an exceptional and panoramic view. Unfortunately we were inundated with heavy rains throughout our two night stay so we never saw Mt. Denali. If you are staying in the Talkeetna area, we highly recommend booking a room here. We'd give it 10 stars if we could.

My husband and I spent the last night of our honeymoon here and we were the only guests. We stayed in the Denali Suite and it was beyond words. Maleia, the caretaker, was so kind and warm. She cooked the absolute best savory waffles for breakfast for us in the morning with homemade berry scones. (Not to mention the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies that were waiting for us when we checked in that were divine.) Maleia also owns the most beautiful white dog, Freija, who is so sweet and lovable. Our room was incredible - with large windows facing Denali. The bed was comfy and the sheets were warm. There was a clawfoot tub for taking a bubble bath which was incredible. A coffee maker is in the room and two overstuffed chairs facing the windows to enjoy the morning view with your coffee. My only regret was not staying here longer. But the next time we are in Alaska, we will be coming to Talkeetna and staying at the Denali Overlook Inn for at least a week.

We were assigned to building #19 and I will be honest. The room is very tired, the hallways are…read morestained, the doors are abused, and this place is in dire need of a refresh. We have had a King room at all of our properties thus far and this one has two queens. The room is equipped with a coffee maker, but no fridge, microwave or safe The room appears to be clean and there is plenty of storage There is a laundry room at the end of the hall with one working washing machine and two dryers for a total cost of seven dollars per load. That includes your soap. The property is beautiful, there are plenty of places to enjoy nature as well as there is a communal fire pit area that had a live music this evening. We were told the place will be sold out tonight as several other buses arriving so this is a very popular property. The town of Talkeetna is 50 miles away and they do have a round-trip shuttle for $10 per person going into town. I was not looking forward to using the wall hairdryer unit, but there was a dry bar blow dryer that just happened to be in the hanging clothes area. Note that most of these lodges do not have air-conditioning. However, the windows open and there was a table fan in the room as well The shower looks like it has been updated with the curved shower curtain rod, and Beekman toiletries The bed was comfortable, would've loved to have had a down pillow as these are a bit lumpy but other than that, we had a good night sleep There is plenty to do here, the fire pit area gets pretty busy and they have live music last night as well as the Hudson Theatre has things going on most of the day and there is a naturalist desk up in the main lobby where they can review the hikes and such with you The only thing we did not get to do since we just didn't have time was take the hike up to the treehouse

They have this system down to a science. Lots of fun things throughout the property. Cute statues, theater with a movie, lodge area, restaurants, coffee place, common spaces inside and outside, huge deck for viewing Denali that has tons of outdoor furniture, massive fireplace and lounge area inside, stores, outside fire pit/bar area, great florals/decor, etc. The list goes on and on. Rooms have all that you need. Property shuttle to take you all over. They even have a treehouse. Several trials to walk. This place does a great job of merging staying in nature seamless.
